    Great setup I love IM reef tanks. With skimmer I would just add to the air line adjustment air valve. Keep up with upload’s. Great tank. Also go for black mesh no reflection from light

      Cheers, what’s the point of the air line? To make it quieter?

    Looking great Nathan....It will be interesting to see if the skimmer performs as you'd like when you flick the switch. The TMC pump looks like a great little upgrade.

    Nathan how has this Seachem sand been working for you? I like the smaller grain look but concerned about it blowing around in a smaller tank. Thanks!

    I don't know about anyone else but I'm buzzing this tank is up and running as I've got one myself but not set up yet........we all know your an absolute wizard when it comes to marine keeping so ill be stealing some knowledge of yours with this one.....
    The tmc reef tide 4000 seems to be a decent wave maker with a small footprint (nano tank reefer) or the mp10 (drews lagoon) which I'm sure you've had a look at...........just a thought.......looking forward to this tank maturing.....

    • @nathanqwerty1
      @nathanqwerty1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha don’t know about being a wizard but have learnt a lot over the 25 years of reefing and am still learning stuff with every system as they all mature and run different, unsure on which wave pumps yet as got to get it right as need to get enough flow for SPS but don’t want a sand storm, going to be a tricky one but sure I’ll work it out, thanks for watching, loads to come on this one bud

    Honestly I think the Red Sea light is very underrated by a lot of reefers

    Fellow IM 25er here. Love the organization in the cabinent - definitely wanting to copy yours once I add a dosing unti. What skimmer are you running? Also, where is the temp controller in the rear chambers? May have to steal the idea as well. On month 5 with mine at the moment. Definitely favorite tank I've ever owned. Water changes are a breeze

      Hi ya, yes they are great aren’t they! One of the smallest tanks I’ve had but one of the best so far anyway just got to see if we can get it into thrive mode which is going to take time like any new system, i went for the Im desktop Nuvo skimmer, only just got if fired up few days ago and so far looks like it’s going to be good, temp prob is just wedged in second chamber for now, got loads of vids to come on this one bud, dropping another hopefully this week.

    Why didn't you use 2 Tunze 6040s in this tank?

    • @nathanqwerty1
      @nathanqwerty1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, I still might, I have one on the cube frag tank which I’m going to try over weekend, got to be careful which type I use as don’t want a sand storm, going to need a wide flow head I think, and hate gyre style wave pumps as too big and ugly, got to be clever with this one, all to come in next updates bud

      I have the ghost skimmer and that’s great but the IM ATO gave up after only a few months. I think most people switch out the return pump 👍

    Plenty of good resources online for real info from professionals, not someone who is either misinformed or misleading.

      obviously entitled to your opinion but have been reefing for 25+ years and we all have our methods of doing things, have done this method 4 times now and has worked out very well and kick starts the system cycle very quick, the only chemical in kit is ammonia which replicates fish waste so the bacteria can get to work straight away, the other component is bacteria strains in a bottle. safe to say that red sea have done a ton of research into every product they sell and this mature kit really does work very well. As for the tank i am very impressed with the build quality of the tank and stand but like i say not impressed with the return pump so simply put one on i think works much better for how i want run the tank. If you have watched all my video's you would know that i can build a very successful thriving reef tank from my methods, we all have our different ways of doing things and there is not a set in stone way to run a reef and every tank matures differently and settles into different parameters, what makes you a good reefer is the ability to adapt your knowledge with every system as it changes and matures out, doesn't matter how long you have been in this game we are all still learning new things and techniques even the professionals.

    “Impressed with build quality”. But problems with pump, new pump too loud… let’s just replace it all. I’m happy with my new car once I replaced the engine. Also please anyone watching this or reading this don’t “cycle a tank in 6 days because you poured some chemicals in the water!” It doesn’t work like that. Terribly miss leading, ask any reefer. I’ve had a successful reef tank for 17 years and I can tell you that’s a recipe for disaster.
