    What is your favorite thing about the Sigma Art 35mm 1.4? Do you have another lens that is your favorite?

    • @mikeboldtphoto
      @mikeboldtphoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My favorite thing about it is probably that it held decent value so when I sold it for the 40mm I didn't take too big of a hit. Now I am even happier with the 40mm!

      I’ve heard some great things about the 40mm. I’m torn between that and the 50mm for my next purchase.

      A tip: you can watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.

    For the record, you don't have to calibrate the lens on mirrorless cameras as the AF is done on the same plane as the sensor.

      Oh wow! Thank you so much for checking out the review and I hope to be able to do more reviews on your gear in the future. I love the quality of the glass and would love to see some of the lenses find a home on the Nikon Z system!

    Nice job Colton! I have two Sigma Art lenses, 24-35mm F2 and a 14mm f 1.8. They have been really good purchases. The 24-35 for landscape work and the 14mm for night sky work. Thanks again!!

    • @ColtonSimmonsPhotography

      That is awesome! I am hoping they start making more lenses for the mirrorless Nikon and Canon cameras, as it'll really open up that autofocus for them!

    People rant because of the back or front focus but almost all my Nikkor lenses need some inbody callibration also with the af fine tune option. And the amount of af fine tune differs from camera to camera. I even have a log for all my lens-camera combinations.

    I've paired this piece of art with my Z6 II (ftz) and it's a perfect combo! It's razor sharp even on f1.4

    I love the images you get with the 35! If I was still shooting weddings, it would be one of my essential lenses, but it's no longer a focal length I really need. The Sigma 135mm Art is an epic lens, and the sharpest lens in my bag.

    • @ColtonSimmonsPhotography
      @ColtonSimmonsPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree! I really wish that they would make more Mirrorless mount lenses beside Fuji and Sony, as these would work amazing on the Nikon and Canon full frame cameras with the improved focusing motor.

    Hey! Nice overwiev , great lens. I have a Nikon z6 with ftz, do I need to change the firmware on the Sigma 35 1.4 for the work better? Do I need a Usb-Dock for this or can I update the firmware with my Nikon Z6?

  • @sols9449
    @sols9449 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Auto focus won’t be an issue in terms of calibration because of the fact that the auto focus points are on the sensor should never need the dock with a mirrorless camera

  • @WickedlNl
    @WickedlNl ปีที่แล้ว

    I dunno, the missing of the focus annoyed me so much when I rented it. Looks great on your camera but them you blow it up on your 27" and realize the focus is not on the eyes but on the ears etc. Mind you, this isn't only Sigma, I had same issues with Nikkor. Not sure why as 50mm,85mm,24mm and 70-200mm almost never miss a focus. If they do its literally because I twitched so hard. Shooting with these 35 its like pointing a sniper and having to stop breathing and giving 5 prayers just to get one good shot.

    • @ColtonSimmonsPhotography
      @ColtonSimmonsPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that is a tough thing. That’s why I always dial in the focus on each of my cameras for the specific lens. This improved my focus vastly. If you want to know how I did that DM me on Instagram!
