Infused: Adventures in Tea by Henrietta Lovell is my favourite memoir. It didn't end up getting very popular when it was released but it literally changed my life. Strongly recommend.
I'm totally reading the Viola Davis memoir this summer. I. Can't. Wait! Maybe I'll try the audio version since she's reading it herself. Thanks for the rec!
I have to say I, too, have noticed I took interest after going through life experinces, read few self help books to finally picking up memior, and I got so involved into others experience, struggles and beating those big problems, its so encouraging in ways that gives you strength, awareness, maturity of understanding and a chance to realize everyone has a story and our life is full of up's and down. I just finished Mathew Perry's Lovers, friends, and the big terrible thing, and my mind is still lingering in the pages of his story.❤ so I was looking for more good recommendations, and I happily stumbled upon your recommendations!! 😊 thank you for doing this video.
You should deffinetly read Patti Smith: Just Kids Kiese Laymon: Heavy Yeonmi Park: ain Order to Live Marina Abramović: Walk Through Walls Maya Angelou: I know Why the Caged Bird Sing Tara Westover: Educated Fern Brady: Strong Female Character
I can highly recommend Hunger by Roxane Gay. It's not the easiest to read sometimes as it deals with SA, but it's profoundly moving, impactful, and well-written.
Simu Liu’s memoir “We Were Dreamers” was a fun audiobook for those who are Marvel fans or interested in immigrant stories (from a Canadian perspective in this book).
I’m obsessed will most of these. I love Crying in H Mart for the incredible, rich, descriptions of Korean food. I wanted to cook nothing but Korean food for weeks afterward. Born a Crime is amazing for Trevor’s audiobook narration, in which you can hear him speak many native South African languages…some of which have sounds that English speakers have never heard!
I’m currently reading ‘tell me everything’ by minka Kelly and I love it so far, every page is keeping me engaged so far. My last two memoir reads was I’m glad my mom died by Jennette and finding me by viola Davis
Those nails! 💅Some memoirs that detail mental health struggles you might like are I'm Telling the Truth, But I'm Lying by Bassey Ikpi, and Heart Berries by Terese Marie Mailhot. Both partially deal with the authors experiences with bipolar disorder. Born a Crime is my favorite memoir, and I'm reading In the Dream House now and really loving it!
Memoirs have become my favorite genre recently. As someone who has experienced religious trauma I also would add Educated by Tara Westover and Beyond Belief by Jenna Miscavige Hill to this list.
Some great memoirs mentioned here!!! I also loved Mean Baby by Selma Blair, Deaf Utopia by Nyle DiMarco, and Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies by Michael Ausiello.
Here's some recommendations I have the right to by chessy prout Lucky me by sachi parker The great peace by mena suvari Not my father son by Alan Cummings In pieces by Sally field Spare prince harry's memoir High on arrival by Mackenzie Phillips Tough by terry crews In the shadow of mountains by sylvia Vasquez lavado Paris Hilton memoir Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey
IN THE DREAM HOUSE is one of my favorite books! I read WHAT MY BONES KNOW based on your rec. I just finished it today. I loved it, but it’s very heavy. Hard to get through. I’m going to check out CRYING IN H MART and KNOW MY NAME soon!
Thank you for the great recommendations! A great memorie I read is "Braking Trail" by Arlene Blum. She was one of the first women to study on MIT and to go glacier climbing. She describes all the fun parts ad wel as all the obstakels and prejudices she experienced back then. Highly recommend 😊
A Piece Of Cake by Cupcake Brown. A memoir that reads like fiction, this woman has survived many trials, and difficulties including drug addiction. She's also funny, so while she speaks about heavy issues, the book doesn't come across harsh.
What a wonderful selection - thank you for this great video. ❤ I will definitely check some of these out. My favorites on your list that I already read were “Born a crime” and “I’m glad my mom died”.
You had recommended Kaikeyi and I wanted to tell you that it's one of the best books I have read so far this year- so thank you! I will definitely be picking up more of your recommendations! What else do you think I would enjoy since I liked Kaikeyi so much? Thanks in advance! xoxo
I agree. It's very trigering for people with eating disorders and people who were abused. In several descriptions of this book I read it's funny, but there were no funny parts to me. Just heartbreak.
I read Trevor Noah's book and it was amazing. I will definitely read some of the books you have recommended. You should also read Becoming by Michelle Obama. Amazing read.
I’ve read 6 of these and am looking forward to checking out the rest! Trevor’s book has been on my TBR for a long time, and I agree with listening when the author is the one reading. Recommendations are Normal Family by Chrysta Bilton, Making a Scene by Constance Wu, We Were Dreamers by Simu Liu, All You Can Ever Know by Nicole Chung, Sissy by Jacob Tobia, Maybe You Should Talk To Someone by Lori Gottlieb, and Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes. 🩷
its very difficult finding good celebrity memmoirs. I want to read books about how some celebrity stars or famous people finally understood things about real life and found peace and truth in their lives, not about their sexual conquers or about their rise to stardom.
Awesome video! You are incredible! There is a book called CONQUEROR MINDSET: CONQUER THE MONSTER. I think that you will love this one. You are magnificent 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I enjoy reading Memoirs! I liked ( I'm glad my mom died) The writing was well done. I have a Memoir (Perseverance by Tacaria Bryant @ B&N) I hope you can read it and 😊
I love reading memoirs because I like knowing how a person can overcome so much in their life to get where they are and how the past shapes us
I just finished Educated by Tara Westover, it was such a unique story. Definitely recommend, but as always, check content warnings ❤
I’ve realised that I’ve always been a Non-Fiction Fiend. Also, the more unique the subject, the more I love it.
Infused: Adventures in Tea by Henrietta Lovell is my favourite memoir. It didn't end up getting very popular when it was released but it literally changed my life. Strongly recommend.

I can highly recommend Hunger by Roxane Gay. It's not the easiest to read sometimes as it deals with SA, but it's profoundly moving, impactful, and well-written.
This was the book that got me into memoirs.
Simu Liu’s memoir “We Were Dreamers” was a fun audiobook for those who are Marvel fans or interested in immigrant stories (from a Canadian perspective in this book).

Yes I waiting for you to bring up Viola Davis’s book I read it last year (before I read Jeannette’s book) & I absolutely loved it
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah is my favorite memoir that you didn't mention. It rocked my world. Read it years ago and still think about it regularly.

I recommend Michaela de Prince's Taking flight: from War orphan to star ballerina.

Is Black Milk a fiction?
Yesss really enjoyed I’m glad my mom died !
Please stop putting your hands in front of the book and moving your hands around..can’t see title or author
Why do you speak so rushed and nearly breathless? It made me feel so stressed and nervous I couldn't keep listening, tho I liked the content.
lol put me on half speed if it bothers you
@@thisstoryaintover No, I just find presenters who don't sound like they are racing some clock.
