Santa brought me this set for Christmas in 1959 when I was 7 years old. I think Mom and Dad must have got a good deal on it at Sears, because I did not have the Allis Chalmers car with my set. I purchased the Conventional Classics set when it came out about 2011. Enjoyed your video.
@@lf6711 thank you for your nice story I bought this set because I believe it was the same one my dad got for Christmas in the 60s he told me he got a Santa Fe with a boat so after some research I found out this set was the only Santa Fe to have a boat. I almost bought the remake set in 2011 but I ended up buying a MTH Santa Fe which is my main runner on my outer track
@@WW_Collector_ I remember that I was in the second grade and I wanted diesels for Christmas. As usual in 1959, Santa came through, I played with this set through my childhood. Through my Grandpa, I loved Lionel trains. He passed away in 1960 when I was only 8 years old. I got all of his trains including a near mint set of yellow Lionel 2023's. My first grade teacher told my Mom that they should take those trains away from me. Well, I am now 72 years old and still playing with them.
