He looks nothing like him (height weight) but he plays with the same passion and intimidation as Brian Dawkins. Joseph is easily one of my favorite players to watch, I really want him to succeed in the pros.
I need to evaluate his coverage skills because I still don't know a whole lot about him except for his exceptional tackling wow. The thing is I liked another safety like this who played for Florid and I thought he was going to be great. Matt Elam played almost exactly like this but he has not panned out, I still think Karl is a very exceptional player.

Hope the three picks in game one of the season put the coverage talk to bed. Karl Joseph can play a the next level at SS even if he is undersized and is not a traditional over the top guy. As much as those type of players are needed in the NFL (cover safeties), the NFL has a piss poor group of defensive backs as run defenders. Often times the secondary are left doing the tackling when a runner gets to the edge or knives through a missed LB run fit. Joseph is probably the most astute run defender from the defensive backfield in the entire country.
