Bought my 2007 Fatboy, while contracting in Iraq through the military purchase program. Absolutely love it. Best bike, I've ever rode. I've set it up with all the detachables. It looks a lot like a Heritage Classic with everything on it, so it looks awesome all dressed up or I can strip it down and it still looks awesome. I buy into the whole WWII theme of the bike. At the time Harley was having disputes with the Japanese markets and investors. Some of the points he doesn't make in the video include the five point star that is a USA military symbol. In '07 when they added the holes to the wheels, Harley called them .50 cal. holes. which was the same caliber of machine guns that were on the bombers for defense. Hi Sean, I'm 69 and bought a new 2022 Fatboy last year, I've been ill the past few months and it's been raining here in Seattle for the past 5 months anyway, finally sunny here and dying to get out on the road, the new Fatboy is definitely faster than my 1996 Fatboy, the rear tire is huge which makes turning a bit trying but I love the bike, be safe out there, God bless.
Been riding my fatboy for almost 30 years ordered it the way I wanted then waited 2 years to receive it I'm pushing 70 years old and still ride as often as possible I will keep it until I'm not able to ride anymore
Hi, I had a sporster as my first bike and lived it, I since changed to a gold wing. I'm looking for my first new bike and can't decide between fat boy v gold wing. Any advice from someone who owns a fat boy?
The only means of transportation I bought brand new was a 2001 Harley Davidsons 1200 custom so now I want heavier bigger displacement engine so to me nothing looks better in the entire Harley-Davidson lineup than the Fatboy
I have a 2017 Fatboy which I have customized and now it resembles a Road King. I love it and it has never given me any issues. I highly recommend the Harley Fatboy.
I've been watching your videos for a couple years knowing at some point I wanted to buy a Harley. Last weekend I took my cousin to pick up his bike and there it was. 2013 Fat Boy Lo anniversary. It's now in my garage and I am loving it!
I met a guy at a show a while back who helped build the original '90 grey ghost Fatboy. It was a custom shop bike. They only built 3000 of them and they sold out in one day! Arnold rode a '91 in T2 as the introduction of the production bike. I'm the second owner of my '91 Fatboy. Had it for over 15 years and it still makes me smile every time I ride it.
Had one for almost two years ('04). I bought it to pimp it up a bit and re sell it for profit, but it grew on me and I kept it, as one of my FXR's was far away and the other one was/ is still a project. I enjoyed it immensely. It doesn't handle as the FXR, but it's a lot of fun." Hasta la vista, Baby!".
Just picked up a 98 Fatboy with 28K original miles from the original owner bone stock except for an up graded exhaust. Other than a new set of tires it was in top shape. I always liked the looks of the FLSTF now I have one.
I bought my 2011 Fat Boy Lo in 2011, new for my 2 year old daughter. She was a little young to ride it. I love that bike - both the style and ride position and comfort. It's not fast, but it's loud and gets the job done. I also love that it was named after 2 bombs.
The Harley Fat Boy is my absolute favourite motorcycle. Only a Ducati can compare, for me, and even they are a distant second. Fat Boys simply rock. And it's their simplicity that is their most beautiful and iconic feature - simplicity and raw power, especially with the optional, massive 114 cu.in. engine. Thank you for this wonderful tribute! As to rumours and speculation, I say we just drop it entirely. Miles Davis was a wife-beater, but I still love his music. I just don't want to think about his personal life. I doubt Harley-Davidson were commemorating a bomber plane, but even if they did, I don't want to think about it! I'd rather think about Arnie defending humanity on his bad-ass Fat Boy, thank you very much. Let's consider the subject closed. Gossip is for pre-teens. I understand you felt the need to address that rumour, and that's perfectly fine, but let's just let it die a quiet and peaceful death. It's time to move on. Fat Boys are the best! Man, I love this bike! My first Harley was a Sportster, which I still love. The next, and probably the last one I will ever buy, because I plan to never part with it, will definitely be a Fat Boy. Harley cruisers are the best, to my view, and Soft Tail cruisers are the best of the best. The Fat Boy is the king of them all.

When Arnold cranked that Fatboy up, that bottom end sound blew me away. I have owned many motorcycles but I have to say that my current 2010 FB is a bad-ass intimidating machine. 😎🇺🇸💪🏻
Sean has dyslexia. I think he does a great job with it. If you watch his videos, he misreads most of his words of wisdom. But, the message is still the same and I love his work.
Sean...I love your videos for your honest reviews and information on so many types and brands of motorcycles, BUT this one put you up to a new level! ...Wow, creative...well written....flawless presentation... great research...and well thought out! TH-cam awards to come for sure! Will share this with many people. So grateful to you, good luck topping this one!....you will I'm sure, Thanks
My 1st Harley, 2000 FLSTF Twin cam 88B in pearl white. I've owned it for twenty years now, traveled everywhere with it including countless bike weeks, still turns heads. $17k when new & almost as much invested in mods too! I've even got a matching trailer to tow behind it. I'm never parting with it & most likely will leave it to my grandson when I die.👍
Sweet short history lesson on Harley’s best bike 👍 I can’t get enough of my 100 year anniversary fatboy, she’s an old girl but still rides perfect and turns heads. Keep up the awesome content mate, respect from Australia 🇦🇺
Just purchased a 2009 fatboy with 11256 miles that is really on great conditions from my neighbor retired military, my first Harley Davidson and I love it. The only thing it's that my wife doesn't know about it, lol. April 17th is are 10th yrs anniversary, either like it or not I did bought it. For $8500 could not resist. My dad told me that it's better to say sorry then ask for permission!
Bike week, Daytona 1991 the Motor Company gave Peter Fonda the use of a 91 Black Fatboy to ride and participate in the bike parade in which Peter put 200 miles on the bike. Tampa Harley sold the bike as a demo that had 200 miles on it. The new owner purchased the bike, tore it down and dumped alot of money to set it up for show. He sold it to an older guy who kept it in his living room and occasionally rode it. I purchased the bike in 2002 with only 19000 miles on it and still own it. A year after I bought it John Sachs , my riding buddy and mechanic set up the current S&S 124 INCH motor with big valves and head work putting out 151 ft pounds of torque winning several horse power shootouts in South Florida in 2003. Fatboys are de bomb - great video and history lesson!
I bought my '97 FatBoy new. I loved the fact that back then they were so hard to find that I flew to LA from the Bay Area to buy one and then bring it back. It was and still is a head turner. I've tried to keep it pretty much stock other than the typical HD chrome add ons thinking back then I was customizing it. Laughing at myself for that thought now
I went and sat on a harley davidson for the first time. What a disapointment. With the standard bars, it felt like i was sitting on a scooter. I then test rode a 2007 Fatboy with medium ape bars and a stage one kit. I now have my for ever bike. Thanks for vid. Good to know more about them.
Thank you! That was very interesting! I'm on my second Fatboy, after many years on old FL's I had to buy as basket cases and restore cause I never had enough money for brand new. And although, I'll always have a special place in my heart for the Shovelheads. The first 91 Fatboy I bought (used) Was like a dream! Now on my second Fatboy I just bought (used cause I still cant afford new) LOL A 2006 CVO. I'm enjoying it very much! The Fatboy and the Heritage -Deluxe Are my favorites! But, If I was taller than 5' nothing? I think the Breakouts are the nicest looking Harley's today!
the way I see it the Fatboy and the Heritage -Deluxe look as if they have just driven out of the 40's which I so love that style (I've owned a 14 Fat Boy for 3 years now a love every minute of it) with a the Breakout its a totally different style of bike. I love the seat high around 24 in high it does give it low slung feel to it...
I have a 2000 fatboy. 80in. All chrome with a black tank with ghost flames. It is so loud I now have tinnitus. I set off car alarms everywhere I go... I love it.
Had one, absolutely loved it, best Harley I’ve ever owned. Sold it to a friend who begged me to sell it to him after my back surgery ( shot in combat) biggest regret of my life. Looking to buy another.
I am not in the B29 shape but you have to admit it must have been a formidable impression of power and strength at take off. Especially at the time. What a beast.
B-29's dropped the bomb the Enola Gay and the BocksCar were the planes. I never put the Harley Fatboy and the bomb together until I watched this. Learn something new every day.
I "liked" this video, right at about 9:00, because of what you said just before. That was good stuff. It was a good video, but that made it great. Nice shot, man.
My dad had an original 1990 & his 1st name was Harley. Unfortunately, he was killed by a drunk driver in 1993. We had to sell it. I've had 4 of them since I've grown up. I recently sold my denim black 2012 Fatboy lo & bought a new 2019 FLFBS 114. What a machine!!! My dad has a HUGE smile of approval...
For 2016 and 2017 there was also a Fat Boy S. Slightly lower from the factory, came in your choice of two kinds of black (gloss or denim). Came with the CVO/Screamin' Eagle 110" engine, hydraulic clutch, throttle by wire, cruise control (thanks to the throttle by wire), and ABS standard. It wasn't quite as awesome as the Low Rider S that had all of that plus upgraded brakes, but they're pretty awesome. There was a Softail Slim S as well.
My favorite video ever!.... I love my fatboy, 2013 fatboy lo with a 103 engine, Vance and Hines big shots, fuel pac, and a screaming eagle air filter, it runs and sounds beautifully perfect.... I'll never part with it, but if I ever do buy another bike, I'll be taking a road trip to your shop guys!... I live in Washington county, pa so it wouldn't be a hard drive...
I’ve had mine 21 years and it was a year old when I found it, after 59 cars and motorcycles all have come and gone including Ferrari Maserati BMW super bikes, Ducati,s etc etc, it’s the only one I will keep, no abs no computers just a classic cool thing,
Yeap, they did NOT know what they were doing, real glad the Harley family bought them back. I remember when the "Fat Bob" and " Low Rider" came out in the mid to late 70's, you almost could not tell the difference other than having the names on the gas tanks, a couple of friends bought both and they rode well, don't know what happened to the guys or their Harley's.
@gemini232003 Check your history. You're only partly right. Yes, AMF had bad management but they also had a lot of money that they pumped into R&D and came up the the EVO engine which saved H-D from bankruptcy, particularly in the Sportster. If there had been no AMF involvement, you wouldn't even be watching this video because the Motor Company would only exist in the history books.
I cut my teeth on amfs and learned how to turn a wrench and build a chopper and rebuild an engine. Same eith cars before computers I'll take one anytime.
Very cool man! I get youtube pop up reccomendations on my phone every day but yours are the only ones I ever stop and watch. This sir is why. Working hard at it and taking it to a new level every time. Great job!
Outstanding video. When I purchase expensive cars or motorcycles, I read about the history. I am not like someone down the street that bought a BMW and thought it was from Japan. Obviously she is not an enthusiast but buying for the look at me, The Joneses. I have never owned a Harley as I love Sexy European bikes but with this unique history, that would make me consider that bike. I own a 2015 Ducati Monster 1200 and a 2018 Super Duke 1290r. Just before I bought the SD, Harley did catch my eye with there new Fat Bob, FXDR, and Fatboy but at 700 pounds, all too heavy. I do not mind the cruiser less horsepower thing but getting too old to push around that much weight in the garage. Keep the great history videos coming. Harley making great looking bikes. Waiting for there new modular engines as I am sure the Euro 5 regulations in 2020 will make it increasingly difficult for air cooled motors.
We've got a Fatboy. I've never wanted to OWN a Harley Davidson, but it has actually been a very nice bike to own. We have a Screamin Eagle 2into1 exhaust on our Evo... and it has got to be the best sounding combination on a HD bike. Its just loud enough to alert the neighbors that things are about to go down without pissing them off. The Evo is a cold blooded chunk of iron, but the lowend power is so nice.
Awesome video... I know a lot of folks have no idea about the fatboy's history. I had looked it up not long after I purchased my 2007 fatboy and the history alone is 1 reason I'll never part with this bike and would love to have a 1st year bike. Thanks for the video.
You said it so great thank you ! I have 2003 100th Fatboy and a 2008 105th Fatboy…………...Love them both ! I have owned many Harely's but the Fatboy is the best. TCB.
Learned to ride last summer. My HD dealer had just gotten a 2006 fatboy on a trade. Long story short and 5k miles later riding her gets better each time out.
after buying a 2008 sportster about 6 years ago and trading a watch for a 1999 road king last year, finally this year i decided to do a stupid thing, got a loan and went buying a '93 Fat Boy... and i' m so glad... of the three, this one is the cherry on my small collection of H-D... the Evolution engine it's a breed of its own, the sound, the pull, the ride... it's not as agile as the road king (yeah, for me that one is probably the best chassis H-D came up with as maneuverability) but sure its pretty close and it's just plain glorious. God Bless America
Also, I like the roadster sportster but want a bigger engine. What model would you suggest. Latest BMW S1000RRs have been weekly rides but I’m as old as the Fatboy and need to chill as my chances are used up and I find it hard to ride leaning over anymore. So arms forward and forward controls kills lower back. I respect your judgement. I want an HD in my lifetime but if it won’t be comfortable then I’ll need to stay sport because at least it like laying forwards. If you get me.
I’ve rented a couple. I rented a standard and then also a fat boy low with a 103 engine. Absolutely loved it. It’s personally my favorite Harley and I’m not really a Harley guy but I would absolutely own a fat boy
This is my next bike. I can't freakin' wait! One day soon.... Cobalt blue... or purple, like Jimi Hendrix' guitar. Damn, I'd take any Fatboy, I love them so much. But yes, purple, black or blue, preferably - with the 114 monster engine.
You missed one of the biggest reasons this bike sprung into popular culture......T2 Arnold riding a Fatboy in T2 really brought this bikes existence into the consciousness of the mainstream culture
My first bike, Zeke, is a 2015 Fatboy lo. I love having him. I've wanted a cruiser since I was 6. I took one look at him in Denim black and had to have him! Non bikers just don't get it, and never will. I am so glad I got my dream bike. Thanks for the history lesson. I am thinking of adding progressive shocks, but I don't know if I'll like them, so any feedback on that add-on is appreciated.
The only Fatboy I ever rode was my friends 91 Evo which handled horrible and due to the extreme vibration by the time I got it home both of the rear turn signals were hanging after a 1 hour ride but let's face it they looked cool as hell . Once they moved to the twin can it came with a counterbalanced type B Engine that took the extreme vibration away but it was slower than the engine in my Dyna . If I ever got a Softail it would be either a Fatboy or a classic with the Evo engine and invest heavily in locktight . Even though in no way could my buddy keep up with my 1200 Sportster or my twin can Dyna the Fatboy with the Evo engine was a great bike even with it's shortcomings . And even though I am glad they are still making a version of the Fatboy I prefer the old one with all it's faults.. The only twin can version of the Softail I really loved was the Crossbones.
Really enjoyed that video!! Because of all those reasons is why I own and love one. For what it's worth, the history part I saw one tiny flaw, and it is tiny, but for the sake of accuracy I'll tell ya about it. The B-29 bombers, two of them, were indeed the aircraft that dropped the two bombs. In WW2, crews named their individual aircraft, for a few reasons but mainly for the reason that it was considered unlucky to not do so. (Same reason sailors nickname their vessels) So the B-29 that dropped the first bomb on the city of Hiroshima was nicknamed by her crew the "Enola Gay" after the pilot's mother I believe. The second, was nicknamed by her crew the "Bock's Car" because one crew member's last name was Bock (I think) the B-29 Superfortress "Bock's Car" (the nose art on that aircraft in the museum is spelled Bockscar) dropped the second weapon on the city of Nagasaki, and that brought the Japanese to the peace table. Now there is probably much more to that story, but the B-29 Superfortress and the C-119 Flying Boxcar are completely unrelated aircraft to the story, and it is totally confusing with the similarity of the names. Anyway, thanks for the GREAT VIDEO and history lesson!!!

Sean has dyslexia. I think he does a great job with it. If you watch his videos, he misreads most of his words of wisdom. But, the message is still the same and I love his work.
Still riding my 93 fat boy it’s on its second factory motor I still love my fat boy.
My dad has a 93 Fat Boy he bought new and its fully original other than the exhaust cause it was too quite !
I absolutely love my black 2003 anniversary model. Best bike I have owned.
I appreciate this dudes honest with his video. He didn’t edit it to make it look like he talked perfect. And the vid is great info
I've wanted a Fatboy since I was a kid. I just bought my first bike, a 1999 Fatboy and I love it.
Turned 16 recently and have been loving my 03 fat boy, only but best bike I’ve ever ridden
🤷🏿
A real man would ride up and say "come with me if you want to live..."

You know that's right 😎
Bike week, Daytona 1991 the Motor Company gave Peter Fonda the use of a 91 Black Fatboy to ride and participate in the bike parade in which Peter put 200 miles on the bike.
Wow that’s awesome
I bought my '97 FatBoy new. I loved the fact that back then they were so hard to find that I flew to LA from the Bay Area to buy one and then bring it back. It was and still is a head turner. I've tried to keep it pretty much stock other than the typical HD chrome add ons thinking back then I was customizing it. Laughing at myself for that thought now
Been riding one for 19 years. Love it.
Storytime with Sean, pretty dope. Enjoyed the history lesson, and as a regular to the channel, I wouldn’t mind more videos like this.. thanks
I freaking LOVE IT. I've fallen in love with it the first time I saw "Terminator2"! :D :D
I love it.
Sorry I meant mid shifters
I love the Fatboy due to it has a balanced motor. It does not shake like the traditional Harley motor.
Right video at the right time! Thank you! I'll buy one!!! Respect from Romania!!!
I have a 1991 Harley-Davidson fatboy flstf and definitely a keeper that’s for sure
Had one, absolutely loved it, best Harley I’ve ever owned. Sold it to a friend who begged me to sell it to him after my back surgery ( shot in combat) biggest regret of my life. Looking to buy another.
Just bought a few weeks ago 23 120 anniversary Fat Boy to add to my collection. What a fun ride. Love the story behind the Fat Boy.
I have a Heritage softail Fatboy 1990 bought in Daytona at the bike week in 1990
I am not in the B29 shape but you have to admit it must have been a formidable impression of power and strength at take off. Especially at the time. What a beast.
B-29's dropped the bomb the Enola Gay and the BocksCar were the planes. I never put the Harley Fatboy and the bomb together until I watched this. Learn something new every day.
(Yet another) great video, Shawn! I just got a 2018 Fatboy, and it is AMAZING!!!
I'm sorry for your loss
Got a 2010 Fatboy lo and love it. Have a stage one and will soon get stage two with woods performance cams. Still the look and feel....it's that good.
I’ve had mine 21 years and it was a year old when I found it, after 59 cars and motorcycles all have come and gone including Ferrari Maserati BMW super bikes, Ducati,s etc etc, it’s the only one I will keep, no abs no computers just a classic cool thing,
I liked those boat tail back end bikes.
Finally got mine 98, I am excited, thanks for such a good video..
Nice job on the history. Chopping a new HD in the 70s is not so shocking. They had to be repaired sitting brand new in the showroom anyway.
@gemini232003
Golf carts.
@@jymebale5545
Even if they ride new ones probably not around anymore. After all they aren't Hondas or Suzukis, those seem to last forever.
Loved your Fat Boy history lesson. I just bought a 2019 FLFBS in Scorched Orange on 3/7/20.🇺🇸KAG
Waiting for there new modular engines as I am sure the Euro 5 regulations in 2020 will make it increasingly difficult for air cooled motors.
if it was it would have much fewer problems.
Hey Sean, your on a roll, ya videos are getting better and better and that was bloody brilliant. Enjoyed it heaps, cheers mate
Just bought a 2014 Fatboy, very nice bike. Great riding fun!
I have a 2015 Fat Boy , brand new from New Rochelle HD dealer . my first bike . im happy to own it ☺ 😊. great video thank you for charing story ❤ 😀
I have a 1991 Harley-Davidson fatboy killa bike definitely a keeper 🤟😎
Love the video. I own a Fatboy didn't know it's history until now. Thank you...
Always been a fan of the Fatboy. Finding it difficult to get a good clean and unmodified one. I really liked the shot gun pipes!
Awesome video... I know a lot of folks have no idea about the fatboy's history. I had looked it up not long after I purchased my 2007 fatboy and the history alone is 1 reason I'll never part with this bike and would love to have a 1st year bike. Thanks for the video.
Just got my brand new 2023 Fat Boy two weeks ago and I 😍 it 👍😁
Took my old Yamaha VStar 1100 to mountain motor sports to get worked on last spring, saw a 2018 fat boy 107, and the rest is history 😎
God Bless America
i’m really digging the everything about it series
I honestly really enjoyed this video. I would love to watch more on other Harley’s and other brands as well.
I love my fatboy just upgraded it to a 107 and I love it even more😎❤️🇺🇸🏍
My Hyosung GV250 replicates the look of the old fatboy harley, flared fenders, beefy tires, tons of chrome. Love the look
Thank you so much for this! 🙌 Loved the history lesson 😊🤗🙌
Thanks for the history lesson. Really liked this one.
He could use a history lesson the Fat Boy was not designed by Willie G. Davidson, it was designed by Duc Dufour a Quebec Harley dealer.
Pretty sure he adapted it to make the low boy fat boy, not the actual first fat boy.
The "wife's birthday" part earned my sub. Well done sir, well done.
2011 Fat Boy Lo - Lots of mods including inch and a half thick 20inch apes and air shocks. I love it ad have ridden it all over the country
Wow. That was an awesome explanation. What a beast of a bike.
You missed one of the biggest reasons this bike sprung into popular culture......T2
Arnold riding a Fatboy in T2 really brought this bikes existence into the consciousness of the mainstream culture
wunder8962 one of the first things he said. Did you even watch the clip? Idiot
Great video love the passion and humour, l am on my way to buy one now........:-)
I love my '18 Fat Boy! What an awesome ride!
The only twin can version of the Softail I really loved was the Crossbones.
the way you describe motorcycles makes me want to buy them all!
Yes, the other flaw on this video is that the second aircraft photo, supposedly of Bock's Car, is not of a B-29.
I've got an eye on that triumph 955 behind you, love those triples
