    Excellent review. Thank you! I've had this in my craft cabinet for years (bought it on sale) and have never known how to use it properly. Always found it rather intimidating... going to take it out now and set some eyelets- thanks!!

      Thank you - I always learn more quickly if someone just shows me, rather than having to read instructions... I like to pass on the information in the same way!

    Can only agree with previous comments, and I now know exactly how to use this brilliant gadget!
    Suddenly, the Crop-O-Dile seems so easy. I can now put it to work. Appreciate the pointing out of the design issues with the case.
    Thanks very much for sharing this excellent video.

      So glad the video helped you. I have learnt a lot (all sorts of subjects) from people's instructional videos here on youtube. Thanks for leaving a comment.

    very good review, what's the difference between this one crop-a-dile 2 and the blue handle one?

    • @SimpScrapbookingNow
      @SimpScrapbookingNow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the head looks the same then there is no difference just the handle colour, however there is also the Cropodile Big Bite which has a longer reach

    My dear it is the best video ever what I found about crop a dile thx so much

  • @SimpScrapbookingNow

    Hi there, Depends what you mean by ring binder, however, you can get "book rings" through the larger eyelets (3/16 size), although they can be a bit snug at times depending on the make of eyelet!

  • @shyeast9093
    @shyeast9093 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why do the back of the mushed down eyelet leave a rough scratchy surface?

    • @SimpScrapbookingNow
      @SimpScrapbookingNow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Basically it's split metal so, yes, is rough, but these eyelets are usually covered at the back by something, either another scrapbook page or if necessary cover them with something decorative if the backs will be 'on show'. Quite often the eyelets are set 'before' everything is then placed onto a background sheet specifically to cover them.

    Very good tutorial!! I'm bummed with the Crop-A-Dile though. I bought it because it said it could set snaps and I bought the snaps and have been trying to even get the snap into the contraption for 2 hrs with no success. Once I finally got one into it, it destroyed the male end of the snap. Mine also advertised that instructions were inside, but when I opened the package, there were no instructions inside. Just for everyone's info. :)

    I am a beginner scrapper and wanted to know if the eyelets that come with the crop-a-dile will allow a binder ring to pass thru it. What size eyelet do I need to buy for that purpose? Great video. I'm a big fan!!

    @kamden1980 looks as if they are messing something up at the Factory on those instructions! lol. Maybe someone really needs to write the company. I ended up buying the old fashioned looking snap setting tool, but it works pretty good! So I'm good with that. :) I believe it was cheaper as well.

    I just picked up a set tonight, and had the same problem. It says right on the back of the packaging printed instructions inside, but none were included. Which is why I'm here, trying to figure out how to use them.

    I'm the same as Laura, have had it for years, and finally dug it out again as I have been asked to run some card making classes for a local charity so going to have a play and see what I can come up with :) Thanks for the video, it makes it so much easier to see something working than to try and read the instructions while you are trying to use it :)

      I agree Nona, I learn so much more quickly when I'm shown - I've learnt a lot via TH-cam. Glad that I can give back a little. Good luck with your card making classes... and nice hat btw ! (on your profile pic!) with gratitude - SL

    Also it only works with four part metal snaps from Tandy Leather, and also only the Large snaps from MemoryKeepers. When you set Tandy Leather snaps with the crop-a-dile, the best you can get is a 'loose-set' because the square bit of the crop a dile's bite won't fit in there for pieces C and D. Although I'm pretty sure I could use my dremel tool to sculpt the teeth into round pieces and get a better fit.

    How do you replace the cubes?

    • @SimpScrapbookingNow
      @SimpScrapbookingNow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there... I'm not sure you can replace the cubes.... if they are broken it may be the end of the the whole tool.

  • @trololoev

    where you get full-metal crop-a-dile? Mine has plastick parts near the hole-puncher

    • @SimpScrapbookingNow
      @SimpScrapbookingNow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only plastic on the cropodile is the little block you can turn around for setting different sizes of eyelet. I would suggest perhaps one with plastic elsewhere (apart from the rubbery handled) is not a branded cropodile?

    • @trololoev
      @trololoev 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SimpScrapbookingNow I just look at their site and I think they changed the design, because now the part that regulates the distance of the intent is made of plastic, which I look more much worse and when you move it it seems like it can easily break.
      You can look at their site, look at the parts, that colored black. i tell about parts you are pointing at 1:33.
      look like you buy it before they start to economy on manufacturing.

    • @SimpScrapbookingNow
      @SimpScrapbookingNow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trololoev yes they have changed it slightly. I thought they'd actually stopped making it all together... and I notice it's out of stock on the We R Memory Makers own website!

    • @trololoev
      @trololoev 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SimpScrapbookingNow i hope they just want to made some updated version and not closing manufacturing entirely.
      i find some "metal" version on ebay, but 50$ delivery for 20$ product is too much :)
      Thank you for answering.
