Mukta Mukta is a story that revolves around political, emotional and family values. A story of five middle class women; Arundhati, Kalyani, Shambhavi, Sharmila and Nivedita and their journeys and battles. Shambhavi, a 35 year old spinster runs the family working as a teacher trying to make ends meet. Shambhavi has a sister Kalyani, a brother Shashikaanta, another sister Sharmila and an irresponsible father, Shankara Murthy who fails to take up family responsibilities. Arundhati is the sole character from the previous and much popular serial Mukta, a prequel of Mukta Mukta wherein she would have married Manmohan, a minister and got divorced later on.
The political track consists of a political fight between honest politician Shivakrishna Desai and a corrupt politician Rajanand Swami, trying to ascend the Chief Minister's throne. The corrupt politician is backed by a powerful and an unscrupulous businessman, Ranjan Lal Mishra who conspires to bring down the honest politician. Ranjan Lal Mishra faces court trial and fails miserably to save his face with lawyer CSP's arguing against him.
The serial comprises of interesting court trials and other emotional stories that captivates one's attention.
