If you choose to make something like this, leaving slack in the earth/ground connection for the ac connection would be safer. If the cord was pulled now, the earth connection could come loose, possibly allowing ac to go to earth through you.
tldr: make the green wire longer so you don't get shocked. AND GROUND YOUR CASE IF IT IS METALLIC

Why use a corded cable ( mostly used in appliances like Iron box, oven , etc) , normally 3 core cable is a better option.
Second wires could be routed nicely then crisscrossing.

There is nothing to stop the main wire from coming out if someone pulls it by accident. If something like this happens, it will be live wire if the main powers is ON.
I have seen electricians make a knot at the end of the main wire inside the box if the wire is not thick type. Or there is small plastic thing that stop the main wire coming out.
