what’s interesting is that, at the time i made the moveset, we didn’t have a reliable way to use other characters animations on sora’s skeleton without severe deformations. roxas’ animations worked well enough, but those xemnas attacks were just sora’s animations edited to look as convincing as possible. if i had the ability to use them at the time, you best believe i would’ve gone ham lmao. thanks for the feature, cynical!
As a hardcore Roxas enthusiast, I just wanna give a heads up: The Roxas by belovedsomnus was really great for the time, and of course I'm thankful for the hard work, but I think the Roxas Expanded mod looks a lot better. Mainly the face, as it doesn't have the weird look going on with the eyes. So for anyone wanting to try this, I'd recommend just using Roxas Expanded, as belovedsomnus' mod is kinda outdated at this point. There's no need to use both. Also, for anyone curious, there's another Roxas moveset on Nexus, called "Days Inspired Roxas Moveset." It's less expansive than the moveset covered in the video, but it's still pretty neat.

Some might prefer this moveset because it allows for more of Roxas' battle quotes, as the "Moveset no. 13" mod is one of many combat moveset mods that suffer from a weird bug in which the game could simply crash if any custom voice mods were running in conjunction to Moveset no. 13. For that reason, they had to remove most battle quotes from this moveset so most of it is just Roxas slashing and slinging very edgily and quietly. So if you actually wanna hear Roxas fighting then I'd recommend the "Days Roxas Inspired Moveset" mod. Another thing: Since both "Playable Roxas" and "Roxas Expanded" are mods that 'swap' Sora's model with Roxas, the Roxas model will also appear in place of Sora for all of the in-game cutscenes (not the prerendered CG ones of course). So if you want to do a full playthrough of KH3 with Roxas (like I did immediately after buying KH3 on PC), then you can totally do that. In all honesty these Roxas mods are very solid, and I'd definitely recommend using them. With the discovery of the ability to use custom skeletons in KH3 mods now (as opposed to just Sora's skeleton), we might be seeing some pretty neat stuff in the future, which might include an even more involved and immersive playable Roxas mod, as well as other special characters that no longer need to conform to the structure of Sora's skeleton. It is even possible that because of this feature, we can potentially see custom bosses in the future, opening the possibility for a remastered KH2 Roxas bossfight. Ofc that's all speculation for now but needless to say I don't think the community will be having such a bad time waiting for KH4.
It was really cool that they changed doubleflight to the reaction command to get on the tram from Kingdom Hearts 2. Using other characters' weapons mid-combo would make more sense for a Xion mod, but this is still really awesome nonetheless!
Where is the Event Horizon, Black hole, and Miracle hour!? His beams were my favorite part of his attacks. The spinning collonades of destructive light emblazoned with the Nobody sigil. I wish someone would just replace Data Xion's beams' crowns with the sigil. He had it the guardians of light fight in the sky.
I want to see this official I think about how Sora duel wields his keyblade and Riku's during the fight with Xemnas in KH2 I would absolutely love to see an interaction like that between Roxas, Axle, and Xion maybe that won't happen but regardless I cant wait to see them in KH4 (also am i the only one who wants to see Xion with her own unique Keyblade?)

Actually I’m just not a huge fan of sora at all😅. So I wish mode could be used on the PlayStation. I can’t afford kh3 on my Oc and I’m dumb when it comes to figuring out mods anyway. Took me HOURS to get the vanitas kh2 mod to work and I can’t get it to work since. I was so close to finishing it and then my old pc died😭. I always love seeing these vids tho

KH2 is how I first got into the game, it was my cousins game but he would let us borrow it sometimes and I've played but never got past day3 (the first boss fight) then my first KH game I owned to myself was 358/2 Days where you play as Roxas. so I feel like I connected to Roxas when it comes to, what the fuck is going on and who the freak is Sora. (I was also a little sad when I first found out that Sora is actually the main character not Roxas, I probably found that out when I played Re:coded)

Roxas had the keyblade up on his shoulder during non-combat/combat in a straightforward fashion like Sora except it's not at angle like Sora. That animation with the keyblade close to the hips was an animation the devs had planned for KH3 Sora but went unused until FF7 Remake.
The combat comment is correct, but in KH2 non combat situations had him carry the keyblade off to the side. 358/2 Days had it on his shoulder in both instances I think, though.

The light form finisher is mickey's "ultima" attack during the remind dlc when he fights the replica xehanorts alone. you can see it when the game intiates a "pushback" where you have to press triangle to deal with the darkness beams. It can also be seen when sora gives him power and pulls off the "enduring faith" situational command
Just something quick to point out that I don't believe you mentioned. Triple Rush is also changed to an Axel Chakram ability which is really cool. For those looking for a more Axel-esque moveset, equip Triple Rush & Magic Flash. You can also unequip Flash Step for a Keyblade-Dash attack that I really like ^_^

No, we can definitely complain. Not fully at Nomura, more like the at the square executives that restricted him to making BBS, Days, and DDD on portable instead of full console budget titles and the Osaka devs who destroyed Tokyo devs original KH3 project when it was 50% complete (in 2015) and then started over and rushed floaty “KH3” out the door in a less than reasonable time frame and slapped a Re:purchase DLC on it a year later to “complete” the game 👀
Did I mention we were PROMISED “the most worlds of any Kingdom Hearts game” (KH2 had 15 so at least 16), which turned into “the longest 5 single-visit worlds of any Kingdom Hearts game”

I've thought this ever since Double Form was released: Oathkeeper's Double Form should've been named Daybreak Form, and Oblivion's Double Form should've been named Twilight Form. Also might as well, Light Form should've been named Daylight/Midday Form, and Dark Form should've been named Moonlight/Midnight Form.
This modding is actually so overdone. Keep it simple. Give roxas the abilities of his kh2 dual wield form vs Axel as default with a block. Let his abilities in his kh3 fight against saïx come at the cost of drive. Maybe give ability to switch to single keyblade form with his kh2 block at the cost of no drive. That double form moveset isn't authentic enough or exclusive enough for Roxas. Only that ultimate move suits as a limit ability I guess, but then again you might as well get the crazy ability hooded Roxas boss had in kh2fm. Overall, I feel its just a lot of overcooking, with no real sense of design or style.

Secondly, there is an alternate moveset you can use for Roxas, known on Nexus as the "Days Roxas Inspired Moveset" by Kurasa25. Some might prefer this moveset because it allows for more of Roxas' battle quotes, as the "Moveset no. 13" mod is one of many combat moveset mods that suffer from a weird bug in which the game could simply crash if any custom voice mods were running in conjunction to Moveset no. 13. For that reason, they had to remove most battle quotes from this moveset so most of it is just Roxas slashing and slinging very edgily and quietly. So if you actually wanna hear Roxas fighting then I'd recommend the "Days Roxas Inspired Moveset" mod.
Another thing: Since both "Playable Roxas" and "Roxas Expanded" are mods that 'swap' Sora's model with Roxas, the Roxas model will also appear in place of Sora for all of the in-game cutscenes (not the prerendered CG ones of course). So if you want to do a full playthrough of KH3 with Roxas (like I did immediately after buying KH3 on PC), then you can totally do that.
In all honesty these Roxas mods are very solid, and I'd definitely recommend using them. With the discovery of the ability to use custom skeletons in KH3 mods now (as opposed to just Sora's skeleton), we might be seeing some pretty neat stuff in the future, which might include an even more involved and immersive playable Roxas mod, as well as other special characters that no longer need to conform to the structure of Sora's skeleton. It is even possible that because of this feature, we can potentially see custom bosses in the future, opening the possibility for a remastered KH2 Roxas bossfight. Ofc that's all speculation for now but needless to say I don't think the community will be having such a bad time waiting for KH4.
