RIP to James Earl Jones ❤️ I ended up watching this film right before he passed and I just wanted to briefly express respect to his work here in the comments. His work is always so incredibly memorable; I absolutely loved him in Coming to America and most of you were introduced to him in The Lion King. My love for film is so deep and my appreciation for the work that goes into it knows no bounds - and that goes for the actors as well. May he rest in peace knowing how beloved his work was by all. 🎬❤️

@@bossvnova so the reason scar said Simba was responsible for death of dad wasn't him being in the stampede but scars saying Simba created the stampede from his roaring that he was practicing
Scar gaslit simba into thinking he killed his dad. He told him to practice his roar while he wentto get his father, which simba yhought started the stampede. Then his dad went to save him. When Mufasa was on the cliff somba moved to get a closer look so he didnt see Scar throw him off. He just saw his father fall
Absolutely loved this Nova! Been so long since I've watched Lion King and didn't realize how much this movie hit for me till now, seeing it as an adult. Really glad you decided to create this channel Nov 🧡
@@bossvnovayes very natural and beautiful too, my only complaint is the excessive talking😬 lol I can't harldy hear the movie cause you keep talking over it 🤷🏾♂️
Looking forward to more of your reactions, glad you got to watch such a classic film. This movie means a lot to me and I’m sure many others, it’s definitely my favourite from Disney.
So proud of you. This is amazing watch, and just fun seeing you have a good time. Sad you didn’t see it as a kid, but you can now see what it so legendary. Keep up the great work and I just subscribed!!!!
Give the hyenas a break! lmao. I think watching a Disney film as a kid is definitely way different from watching it as an adult. A lot of them are obvious in terms of the story but the nostalgia always hit. Can't wait to see your thoughts on the other ones.
I was born in 1992, and Lion king was the first movie I ever saw in the theater and was a sentimental movie from my childhood just like all the other classic Disney movies. How old are you? I'm happy you're watching these masterpieces great quality. Also, congratulations on 800 subs and counting for your first video.
A few things. Mufasa's death is one of the more emotionally charged parental deaths that Disney has done with Bambi's Mother being just if not more somber. Also, this is one of the few times we as the audience get a body to confirm the death of a character. Unlike Gaston. In certain Disney fandoms it's believed that the Hyenas overpopulated and why Mufasa put them in the Elephant Graveyard. Thus, explaining why Shanzi not only doesn't hate Mufasa but almost sees him as an imposing figure. He's a leader doing a hard choice for the betterment of all the animals of the Pride Lands while giving the Hyenas the largest animal to try and spread among all of them when they die. Oh, and the Lion King is based off of Shakespear's Hamlet even down to the young prince being visited by a vision of his father from a place above him.
Muufasa: look at the stars the great Kings of the past look down on us from those stars so whenever you feel alone just remember that those Kings will always be there to guide you and so will I, Rest In Peace James Earl Jones January 17 1931-September 9 2024, his father was a actor too, his name was Robert Earl Jones he died on September 7 2006
my fav reacting to my fav disney movie! some of disney's best songs and best voice acting (imo) and yes, a very predictable plot, esp as an adult but glad you still gave this one a chance
With Halloween coming up, I've also got to recommend both Killer Klowns from Outer Space and Ernest Scared Stupid. They're both perfect mixes of spooks, laughs, and great creature effects.
It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this movie, the scene where Simba finds Mufasa dead in the gorge always gets me in the heart. Especially the fact that Scar gaslights Simba into thinking it was his (Simba's) fault and Johnathan Taylor Thomas' line delivery. Also, I am very glad they cast James Earl Jones as Mufasa. As much as I respect the actor, they almost cast Christopher Walken. Side note: Some of the character's names have meanings translated out of Swahili Simba: Lion Nala: Gift Mufasa: King Sarabi: Mirage Rafiki: Friend Pumbaa: Slow-Witted Zazu: Movement Shenzi: Savage Banzai: Skulk or lurk Taka (Scar's original name): Waste Timon (His name actually comes from Greek): Respect or Honor
Scar and his hyenas took way too much than what was neccesary, thats why the Pridelands looked awful- and is again why Simba managed to make it look like home again. Because he respects the circle of life.
I saw this movie about 6 times when it came out in 1994, and watched the video to the point where I can almost recite it. The pinnacle of the Disney Renaissance. Who better to voice a king than James Earl Jones? May he rest in peace.
Simba didn’t just fix everything right away, he just respected the right way of nature. Scar was greedy and scared all food sources away, and Simba followed his dads teaching of the circle of life.
This movie really made such an impact on me growing up, emotionally and artistically. (I drew a bunch of fanart since the age of 5 and still do 19 yrs later) But like impactful emotionally, cos the stampede scene might have been my very first memory discovering the concept of death as a child. Especially with a character I treated as my father figure in my head. Either way, it's great that you watched it now. tho yeah, you probably would've appreciated it more if you saw it as a kid.
Maybe cause my daddy issues but never cried when Mufasa died, but at the end, when Simba is climbing the pride rock with the music and the rain, bawling, every single time.
I haven't watched this movie in don't long, it's been nearly 20 years give or take. There's definitely an air missing seeing for the first time so late in life but it still holds up.
To not have seen this movie as a kid is kinda tragic 😂 it's one of the highlights of my childhood loved it so much as a toddler but with the upcoming live-action Mufasa movie releasing soon gotta say I'm excited to see his story on the big screen, RIP to James Earl Jones, the voice behind Mufasa 💔
*Everytime that I farted* That's what he was going to say lol Edit Always watch Lion King II : Simba's Pride. Obviously it isn't as good as this but it continues the story from here. They also made a kid's show which is a prequel to the second movie called "Lion Guard"
Great reaction! I look forward to watching your (1997) Titanic reaction one day. SIDENOTE: over 90% of the movies directed or produced by James Cameron or Steven Spielberg that came out before 2010 are GREATER THAN GREAT!
“Could have gone without seeing it”. Well, obviously. We all can “go without seeing” a movie. But that’s a really poor way to judge a film. The real question is: did you enjoy it? That’s really all that matters. And you need to keep in mind that a movie doesn’t have to be your favorite for you admit that you enjoyed it. And yes, it’s a kids movie, but you keep that in mind when watching a film, and take it into consideration.
I’m not like a lot of these react streamers I’m not gonna act my ass off to feed people’s nostalgia. I enjoyed it for what it was. Probably wouldn’t see it again. It was cute. 99% of this video was me positively reacting to the movie. It was fine.
@@bossvnova So you enjoyed it. Great. That’s a more important take than trying to be cool by saying “I could have gone without seeing it”, knowing full well how popular it is. And it has nothing to do with “nostalgia”. Kids who see the movie today love it just as much as kids in the 90s. I think pretending you didn’t enjoy it is as big an act as the fake reactors that pretend to love a movie. 🤷
That didn’t bother me tbh, I was just wishing she would shut the f**k up for a second. Definitley likes the sound of her own voice more than any movie she’s ever likely to watch

It’s a Masterpiece in Disney History and part of my childhood, I even still have it on VHS.
Jason Weaver probably still tricking off that old Disney money to this day. Voicing Simba set him up for life.
I'm not that sure that many voice actors get residuals. Maybe if you are James Earl Jones who was famous already but not someone no one really knew.
