    brilliant, or brullyint, which is of course the highest honour a glasgow man can give. i was having a look at flying an fpv drone around the fast castle and st abb's head, but this terrain looks really tough. hehehe the sardine people,

    Great film John, brings back fond memories for me too. Childhood memories from caravan holidays at Pease Bay and Coldingham.
    The Cove at the start of the film is stunning, as is St Abb's Head.
    Cheers

    Great video. It's the Bass Rock - off North Berwick. 100,000 gannets make it white!

    Again, thank you for these videoes. I was just planning on bringing my Sawyer water filter along for my trip, but watching this made me wonder - would you recommend using both puri-tabs and water-filtering in Scotland?

    • @HoundsofHowgate
      @HoundsofHowgate  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      I would bring both but you only really need to use the purification tablets at lower elevations where there is more risk of contaminates in the water. I wouldn't bother with the tabs when drinking from a high mountain stream, for example, but I would still filter it. I say this as the risk of viruses (which the sawyer can't filter out but are neutralized by the tabs) is highly unlikely in Scotland in water coming from near the source. I also found that prolonged use of tabs ended up drying out my throat and made it kinda sore. Nothing major but definetly noticeable. I suspect it was because I was often drinking the treated water on the minimum half hour mark after treatment and I don't think that's enough: I found water treated and left overnight was different but in the end I decided just to filter unless drinking from lower water sources or higher risk ones.
      🥛👍
      P.s. I made a dog specific vid today and included a q&a section at the end where I answer all your questions too. Just rendering it just now and will upload it tomorrow so it will probably go live tomorrow evening or Monday 🙂🐺👣👍

      Thanks a lot! I will definately bring some puri-tabs too then 😊 also good to know that they may be better left in there for as long as possible before drikning 😊 thanks for the thourough answer 😀

      @@HoundsofHowgate Thanks, it's so kind of you! I know it's been a while, but do you remember any nice spots for wild camping near Cockburnspath? I've been considering going further north to Dunbar on my third day

    • @HoundsofHowgate
      @HoundsofHowgate  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rotaaable it's quite steep cliffs down rear there with the path between the edge and fields. Due to that there are not many places to camp. However if you keep going north a wee bit there is a beach you could wild camp at. There is also a campsite there too if you fancied getting a shower and such:
