Being 29 and about to be married sure gives one perspective. From the very first interactions I've seen of Taehyung and Jeongguk it's been clear to me they're attracted to each other / in love. This is the *only* 'ship' in all KPOP I believe this about. Half of their interactions mirror the way my fiance and I act with one another. And I've been into KPOP since 2010 and have seen many a ship, so it's not like I don't have a frame of reference. I know Koreans are touchy, I know boyband members are close - I have 10 years worth of observations of all of that, and TaeKook is different from all of it by a landslide. It's just so odd to me sometimes how many people in the fandom are adamant "they're just friends!!". But then I get it. There are so many reasons why someone would dig their heels in and announce with absolute certainty two people are totes hetero and just buds i.e: - Homophobia (internalized or not) - Inexperience (sexual or romantic) - Denial due to personal attraction to either or both of the members - Desire to be 'objective' by aiming for the 'default' sexuality (hetero) or using the 'you don't know them' argument. or any mixture of the above, really. So no, you don't have to take my word for it - have your own opinions, gather your own observations, live your life as you see fit and then revisit things, etc. But my experience tells me these guys are in love. If that makes ARMYs uncomfortable, I'm sorry, it's not my intention, but perhaps some reflection is needed on why it would bug you so very much. Not because I am a fan of shipping, but evidently because you all are young children in your early pre-teens that are blinded by your infatuation for the idols, and do not yet comprehend the complexity of love. In other words: you’re not old enough to be open-minded about homosexual relationships thanks to our corrupt societal upbringings that deem same-sex relationships as an abomination. You deny their interactions as anything more than “Skin-Ship” because you think it’s wrong. However, I doubt you don’t get taken aback from time to time because I’m sure you’re aware that their friendliness with each other crosses the line [ for obvious reasons]. The vast majority of the fandom is little children. Even though kids are actively interested in the ship of Taekook, I doubt that they want it to be real, they’re simply fascinated with the idea of it [ which is why there’s a thing called shipping]. Ami’s shy away once adults discuss the 99.9% possibility of these two being together in real life because although kids are aware of Taekook’s intimacy, they cannot accept the idea that that would mean Taehyung and Jungkook would be apart of the LGBTQ community. Youngsters are taught at an early age that homosexuality is wrong. Thus, Taekook being together in real life contrasts against the facade children have created for their Idols. Although I seldom blame these kids. I blame social constructs. Taekook is evidentially the most controversial thing in the fandom, but I hope that it can somehow change for the better in the future and that we as fandom can just come to accept them for what they are rather than denying their undeniable attraction for each other, or anticipating a far-fetched confirmation from Taehyung and Jungkook admitting that they’re together. South Korea isn’t too keen on the idea of homosexuality. They don’t support it; they never acknowledge these people with respect nor act as they exist. It is a crime there to in-list in the military if you are attracted to the same gender. So how can Ami’s be waiting for something as big as Taekook coming out? When we, as a fandom, are in denial and cannot accept it? And for Ami’s to be accepting, I’m not suggesting that we go on Weverse and spam the artists with Taekook pictures and questions. I’m not indicating that we go on Rina Johnson’s stories and question her if Taekook is real. It’s none of our business. We can just acknowledge their mutual love silently and cherish the moments we get. It’s not a big deal anyway, so their relationship shouldn’t be something that’s on your mind all the time. Admire and accept these boys by listening to their music and learning from the messages they intend to share. After all, we’re apart of this fandom to love BTS for their talent in the music industry. Not for their sexuality. Protect Taekook with all your heart. 💜

Being 29 and about to be married sure gives one perspective. From the very first interactions I've seen of Taehyung and Jeongguk it's been clear to me they're attracted to each other / in love. This is the *only* 'ship' in all KPOP I believe this about. Half of their interactions mirror the way my fiance and I act with one another.
And I've been into KPOP since 2010 and have seen many a ship, so it's not like I don't have a frame of reference. I know Koreans are touchy, I know boyband members are close - I have 10 years worth of observations of all of that, and TaeKook is different from all of it by a landslide.
It's just so odd to me sometimes how many people in the fandom are adamant "they're just friends!!".
But then I get it. There are so many reasons why someone would dig their heels in and announce with absolute certainty two people are totes hetero and just buds i.e:
- Homophobia (internalized or not)
- Inexperience (sexual or romantic)
- Denial due to personal attraction to either or both of the members
- Desire to be 'objective' by aiming for the 'default' sexuality (hetero) or using the 'you don't know them' argument.
or any mixture of the above, really.
So no, you don't have to take my word for it - have your own opinions, gather your own observations, live your life as you see fit and then revisit things, etc.
But my experience tells me these guys are in love. If that makes ARMYs uncomfortable, I'm sorry, it's not my intention, but perhaps some reflection is needed on why it would bug you so very much.

Not because I am a fan of shipping, but evidently because you all are young children in your early pre-teens that are blinded by your infatuation for the idols, and do not yet comprehend the complexity of love. In other words: you’re not old enough to be open-minded about homosexual relationships thanks to our corrupt societal upbringings that deem same-sex relationships as an abomination.
You deny their interactions as anything more than “Skin-Ship” because you think it’s wrong. However, I doubt you don’t get taken aback from time to time because I’m sure you’re aware that their friendliness with each other crosses the line [ for obvious reasons].
The vast majority of the fandom is little children. Even though kids are actively interested in the ship of Taekook, I doubt that they want it to be real, they’re simply fascinated with the idea of it [ which is why there’s a thing called shipping].
Ami’s shy away once adults discuss the 99.9% possibility of these two being together in real life because although kids are aware of Taekook’s intimacy, they cannot accept the idea that that would mean Taehyung and Jungkook would be apart of the LGBTQ community. Youngsters are taught at an early age that homosexuality is wrong. Thus, Taekook being together in real life contrasts against the facade children have created for their Idols. Although I seldom blame these kids. I blame social constructs.
Taekook is evidentially the most controversial thing in the fandom, but I hope that it can somehow change for the better in the future and that we as fandom can just come to accept them for what they are rather than denying their undeniable attraction for each other, or anticipating a far-fetched confirmation from Taehyung and Jungkook admitting that they’re together. South Korea isn’t too keen on the idea of homosexuality. They don’t support it; they never acknowledge these people with respect nor act as they exist. It is a crime there to in-list in the military if you are attracted to the same gender. So how can Ami’s be waiting for something as big as Taekook coming out? When we, as a fandom, are in denial and cannot accept it?
And for Ami’s to be accepting, I’m not suggesting that we go on Weverse and spam the artists with Taekook pictures and questions. I’m not indicating that we go on Rina Johnson’s stories and question her if Taekook is real. It’s none of our business. We can just acknowledge their mutual love silently and cherish the moments we get. It’s not a big deal anyway, so their relationship shouldn’t be something that’s on your mind all the time. Admire and accept these boys by listening to their music and learning from the messages they intend to share. After all, we’re apart of this fandom to love BTS for their talent in the music industry. Not for their sexuality. Protect Taekook with all your heart. 💜

i dont even think their relationship like jokes or fan service. cuz theres no way to fake that kinda of intense for years. and they're not even a group that like to tease fans with physical contact. they mostly just do their jobs and be themselves. also, when they with others, even hugging holding hands, all just feel lovely, nothing makes you blush.
its actually quite reasonable, if you went to all boy school, some of them would form a couple-like behavior, but thats a little bit different than real gay relationships, they might not really do anything sexually(but in this case...) sorry if i speak too realistic and make you uncomfortable, i cant see it like just a fantasy cuz its just... there. but feel free to ignore me, i could be totally wrong and just making things up in my mind. we might never know the truth.
but if youre interesting about my thoughts, i think they started as just normal friends, bit closer than the others. imagine when youre a teenage boy, theres another cute boy and hes a bit shy, clumsy, weird sense of humor, and you could talk your heart stuff to him, he would gently comfort you. you feel like a man with him, you wanna protect him but also sometimes make fun of him cuz his reaction just too cute. when hes getting more and more rely on you, its even harder to treat him as just a friend.
i think things turn real for them around maybe 2017, 18. thats when the other members starting to act weird too. like jimin kept checking between them, smirking. suga and rm looks unimpressed, sometimes even turned away. jin and j-hop either unaware or laugh nervously. there were times the elders even interfering like suga grabbed v so jk had to go to the other side, or rm cut in-between them several times.
i didnt think the group almost break up has something to do with this till the interview they all sitting n eating talk about stuff. v said he got a long message form suga saying i love you in the end. everyone was wowing but jk oddly quiet. then suga said he sent that to another member too, and jk raised hand said its him. first time saw that, i just wonder why he only sent to these two. the subtitle explained that cuz they are the youngest, and i accepted. but now think again, if its nothing, why jk didnt just say he got one too right away? BUT, if suga was talking about teakook relationship in the massages, then it all make sense. another thing, form the context, seemed like v was thinking about quit and suga's massage saved him. but if suga sent to jk too, did jk wanna quit too? they said the reason was too much pressure, v surely looked like he was, but jk? theres another interview jk said hes ok, but he saw some members was under a lot of pressure made he felt painful cuz he couldnt do anything. i think they came out to the group, agency, probably even families. thats tough even in western world. korea isnt very open to gays, you dont see much openly gay public figures. so at this point, i kinda hope everything just my imagination cuz if its real then its gonna be a hard road for them.
now you can see jk and v rarely sit together anymore. and jk used to all handsy on v, but now he always keep a distance. sometime v asked for a hug he would do a bit but quickly separate. but you can still see the caring and affection just more subtle. compare with before, past couple years more like young people getting together the first time, couldnt get enough of each others. but its serious now, so they have to consider the whole picture, their and others career and future together. i would guess they made a deal with the group and agency to hide their relationship for good. thats why they put jin in-between them now, just encase they get carry away. and also provide a disguise for fans to follow another cp.
but i kinda feel like v doesnt want to hide or he just think some small gestures wouldnt get noticed so he still touching jk but jk kinda avoid and looks at camera or other members. v needs to be more careful and follows the policy. or it might has consequences. cant believe jk is the one acting more grown up now.
conclusion, i think they are real and must be a great love story but we probably never be able to hear. or maybe years later if they still together, or the world turn more tolerant(extremely not enough in asian countries now). there would be a lot of rumors and cover stories, everyone can believe what they want to believe. for me, even though i thought about teakook a lot, but im ok with even im complete wrong. cuz its just not my business in the first place lol. as long as they keep making great music and vids, i will keep following them no matter what. so it doesnt even matter.
