Nice job. I’m still trying to decide between this kayak or the Bonafide 127. I like the swivel seat but there are some features on the Bonafide that I like too.
I’m guessing you didn’t get side scan on your helix 5 unit since your transducer is tucked up in the boat channel so far? I just got the same unit but with side scan, I’d love to mount it the way you did if I could still utilize the side scan feature. Any idea what I might try???
Side scan would need to hang down beneath the hull..I did not go that route as I am normally in faster, shallow water and would drag it off hitting rocks
How did you attach the Transducer on the thru Hull application you did. I want to do the same thing, I don’t want anything hanging over the side. I’m pretty handy, I can make the puck you showed on top, but want to understand what happened below. Thank you
Really nice video that battery box is off the hook man I'd love to know how you built that I'm getting the Frontier for next season. Could you please share the components and maybe where to get them. God bless and keep casting brother.
Ohh wow! That is an amazing transducer install! I never thought there was enough room for one. You think the slightly bigger Lowrance transducer would work too?
Were original tracks that you connected Bonnedox to holding good since you only mounted it to the tracks. My Frontier 12 is pushing around 150lbs with trolling motor and battery thats why i am wondering if i also should use backing plate at the gunnel for extra strenght
Wojciech Gierczynski , I have since redesigned the mounting installation , using custom one piece track nuts with both tapped holes,..and upgraded to the Aquaterra aluminum tracks.
Aquaterra aluminum tracks are worth it. I wish it was a standard feature offered by NuCanoe. Also wish they offered a better way to mount a transducer.
I have a 2018 Frontier 12 as well and am l looking to install my Fishfinder in a very similar fashion. I also plan on using the Hobie thru-hull kit . I noticed the protector where the wires come out of the hull near the transducer is mounted with screws, unlike the one on the front, closer to the hatch. Does the part that you can mount with screws come in the kit? The kits I see online don't show any that can be mounted that way....unless I'm missing something. Thanks for the video!
Mike R , the front Hobie Mount has a threaded piece going though the hull that you tighten a plastic nut to tighten to the hull. I had to use a 3 wire Hobie on the rear as you have no access to the stern inside. The 3 wire mount comes with three stainless screws to tighten to the hull.
One more question about your transducer. I bought a Helix 5 CHIRP DI GPS. I too didn't want an arm hanging over the side for the transducer. So, I utilized Humminbird's exchange program and got a thru hull transducer to mount in a scupper hole like yours. This thing is huge! It won't fit in one of the recessed channels underneath my Frontier. The stem will fit in the scupper hole but the transducer itself would extend below the bottom of my kayak. What model transducer are you using?? My unit is a G2 and that may be the difference? Is Humminbird tech support in my future? or should look at mounting somewhere inside the hull? Thanks, mike
That yak is sweet and would be even sweeter with a Micro Power Pole on the back !! Nice job !!
Excellent setup ! Im considering an F12 myself 👍
Very nice build

I’m in the same boat which one did you go with ?
Me too. But between the Frontier 12 and the Crescent Crew.
very informative, thank you for shating
You got that decked out big time dude! Sweet rig!
Great video man! , very informative! You've done a really good job, boat looks awesome!
Very nice hdpe work!
thank you sir I appreciate the help it is a really cool set up.
great job
very nice setup can't wait to get me one.
RESPEKT 💪😉👍
So the battery is in that box you have? What kind of battery? Wish you would of made a video of you installing the wires. Really cool setup.
Cheap 7 or 8 ah battery from BassPro. Wiring wasn’t difficult, I only started two or 3 fires on the bench putting it together 🤣
Man, that millennium seat looks almost just like the NuCanoe seat they have now. And cheaper! So that just attaches to the hi/lo base from NuCanoe?
Yrs, standard swivel base hole. I think I paid like $104.99 for the seat back then... which by the way is still perfect after countless hours of use.
@@RonBrumback I would still have to purchase the seat base frame though from NuCanoe correct?

You convinced me bro

Just ran a bolt through the transducer mount up through the scupper hole and bolted through the puck.
@@RonBrumback Thank you Sir! Going to do the same as you have when my F12 arrives. Tight Lines and stay healthy!
Are you using side scan as well on the fish finder? Love the transducer mount
That Helix 5 didn’t have sidescan. It wouldn’t have worked anyway as the transducer was up inside the tunnel with not a clear view to the sides
Would love to know how you installed the landing gear. Looks like you have it mounted on the slide rails.
I have a separate video on install

Hooked On Jesus Kayak Angler with Dennis Shields , I’ll post a short video I did on the box
Video posted on the box...link for electronics in description. The rest was stainless and brass nuts and bolts.
very nice boat and mods. Did you look at the Pursuit? What made you choose the Frontier over the Pursuit?
Do you think the NuCanoe slide tray would fit on other kayaks?
I’m not sure, I would contact Nucanoe
Very nice tight and setup...who makes the pedal system
Ohh wow! That is an amazing transducer install! I never thought there was enough room for one. You think the slightly bigger Lowrance transducer would work too?
No idea on Lowrance sizes
With the dashboard up front, does your fish finder just screw in with bolts and nuts or do you need some kind of mount?
I used the included mount, holes lined up with the dashboard holes
Pretty cool. Nice job.

Can you explain in a little more detail how you made that scupper ducer mount? Or would you be interested in making one I can buy off of you?

Thanks for the reply! and the info on the 3-way Hobie connector

I’m using the standard G2 transducer as well
well done. can you give more info on that box and the display used?
I have another video on the battery box
How much that setup run ya?
Where did you get yours
