Yeeeeeesss!! Pray 🙏🏻🙌🏻!! That’s how I got my answer for homeschooling and the sign couldn’t be any more clear... I know I am making the best choice for my daughter 🥰💕
My scholars will be new to homeschooling. They are currently in the 9th / 6th grade. Prayer is 🔑! I have reached out to my local Jehovah's Witness Homeschool Groups. They have truly been helpful. Now I'm waiting for the response back from the school system regarding dropping them from the school... I can't wait to update you on our process! Thanks for the info

I keep thinking of homeschooling my 6 year old because he struggles with reading and math with this common core they are teaching now. He gets lost in the large classroom size and being a mom who has to work, it can be keep up in the nights. This was helpful and made more sense about what I am looking for and how to decide the best route. Thank you so much!
Thank you so so much for your video. I totally agree that prayer is the key. My son is in the 5th grade and he has been struggling these past couple of years. He was in public school from K-2nd and has been in online schooling for the last three years. He has still struggled to keep up with the curriculum. My son has several medical conditions that has been affecting his schooling. I am considering homeschool him so that he will not feel the pressures and stress of not completely comprehending his lessons. He does so much better with one on one teaching. Thank you and I look so forward to viewing your other videos.
I'm am so thrilled that I found your video! Thank you so much for the tips. I will be homeschooling my first grader and my four year old next semester. I'm excited but also a bit nervous to start simply because I'm new to it. 😊
@@LiSAMJKO Did you ever find any info? If not check out HSLDA they are a wonderful source for how to start and requirements by state etc. I also recommend checking out homeschoolers on TH-cam for inspiration. Two to start with are 'Pepper and Pine' and 'There's no Place Like Home. Last tip look in your local area for homeschool groups and check out a Meetup. 😉
Shesta, this is such a great video. I've wanted to film a similar one for awhile, but I no longer see the need after your fantastic suggestions! I agree with writing down your reasons for wanting to homeschool...when it gets hard, it can be difficult to recall why you decided to home educate. I really like your personality, and I look forward to more videos! 😊
This video was a blessing to me . I’ve been struggling on if I’m going to home school. I still am not 100% on my decision. But your video was very helpful.
Tina D i decided to do both. My daughters are home and doing distant learning I am also doing my own lessons on top of it to encourage even more Learning. Maybe next year I will homeschool exclusively but this is a good way to ease into it. I also was having a huge issue finding the curriculum I was going with McGraw-Hill which I do like them but their team of specialists to help you decide what curriculum you want was not available because of Covid.so I didn’t get the support I needed.
Thank you for this video! I have been homeschooling my children for 12 years now :) And I STILL need to hear stuff like this - you are very encouraging xx
I'm really still deciding if this will be the best route for my 6th grader but I love love love all your tips. I will be checking into everything you're explaining. Thank you!

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this informative and encouraging video. I have been considering homeschooling for quite some time but my work schedule made it impossible. I've recently made some major life adjustments and plan to start this year.
I want to homeschooling.God Has put that in my heart, so here I'm looking on youtube how to do it . Where should I get all the books they will need? I have a 5 years old and a 8 years old. Do I need to talk to the schools they go for more information?
Thanks for watching! You should look up the homeschool laws in your state. Each is different. You can start at hslda.org/legal. As far as curriculum, start with cathyduffyreviews.com/ or www.rainbowresource.com/. These are great websites dedicated with a wide array of curriculum. Good luck and welcome to the family!

@@TheHecticEclecticChannel Guess we are all trying to figure out if we are sending our babies back to school. My babies would be going to per k and 3 k.
In TN it jusy depends on if who you are enrolled with. If you use an umbrella school, you have to follow that particular organization's rules. If you enroll with the state you would have to follow their rules. With the umbrella school I use, my children weren't required to test at any grade level. It was optional.
I was wondering what you thought of the logic of English curriculum. I was thinking about using it. unfortunately where I live no one is using it. so I have no one to ask about it.
Yes. I'm trying to figure out if it really works. The idea is great I understand the concepts. Are there any pros and cons? I don't know anyone who has bought the curriculum. I also do not know how successful it is. My child is struggling with spelling and sight word based programs.I kind of believe if you can't spell then you really have a problem achieving a higher education. We have hit that dreaded third grade reading epidemic. I call it functioning illiteracy.
To be honest with you, I do believe that knowing the mechanics of the English Grammar is necessary, but it doesn't always have to be taught using a curriculum. Some children "get it" and some do not, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it is suppose to be taught according the standards of our educational system. Now, there are ways to accomplish this with a young student. You can have them read a sentence that is full of errors, if they are reading, and ask them to correct what is wrong. If they do this with no problem then I am pretty sure they have a grasp of the English mechanics. It is always good to set your foundation early, so that when they get in high grades, they are up to par with what they are expected to know. For example cover the basics: nouns, pronouns, verbs, action verbs, helping verbs, capitalization, punctuation, first; second; and third person, how to answer a question in a complete sentence, etc. I think with younger kids copywork is a great way to implement this. Copywork is just copying down particular sentences or passage of any kind and because they are doing that they will, by repetition, learn the mechanics of English. Life of Fred Language Arts isn't recommended until high school. My son has always loved grammar and Fred was a great fit for him because he learned more than just "grammar". He has also learned more from the Language Arts program than any other book I had his siblings in. So, if a curriculum is not working for your child in this particular subject, or any other subject, drop it and get creative. If it is sight words that you are having a problem with, tackle a couple of sight words at a time. When my kids were younger, I labeled everything in the house. I wrote the name of things on index cards and that was how they learned to read. It was everywhere. Remember learning is a lifestyle and you want him/her to have the love of learning. Once that happens magic will begin and you will see your child progress tremendously. Blessings! (((Hugs)))
That depends on where you live! In New Mexico you just need a high school diploma or equivalent like GED. Some states have no requirements, some require a minimum of some college up to a 4 year degree.
