My advise when you want to buy a used performance car like the M5 and it has Landsail tyres or Hifly tyres or whatever cheap Chinese brand, just leave it immediately. These owners apparently cannot afford reasonable tyres. That says enough about the state of maintenance.
lmao, absolutely true. i've bought my standard a3 8p from 2010, it has hifly tires which i'll change for the next season. absolutely shit maintenance by previous owner, had to replace almost everything on the car (engine was fine and still is), but atleast it's fully clean now xD

Hey brother, I’m happy you decided to work on the M5. Your channel deserves it and you will ge more out of it instead of holding content back. If anything, those rod bearings and other parts can serve as evidence they were never replaced. Join the auto shop on their journey to destroy those scammers and use every part you replace as evidence. Even an oil analysis if possible. Keep up the good work.
Nice choice I just did the shocks and struts but used the Bilstein B8’s with the h&r’s. They are shorter in height and literally meant for lowering springs. Car feels much better
I'm getting the same setup as you, as I'd heard that B4 & b6 shocks were for use with standard springs. I'm concerned that the ride may be too hard as the roads in the UK are crap. What's your experience been like?
That trick he used to pop that rotor loose was to smooth! #smoothcrminal 🤣 Glad your getting stuff going on the m5!! Been busy with work so catching up on your vids...... liked the the way you formatted the repair parts of the vid......gotta snag another of your shirts pretty soon! Great work Christian 💯
I am loving the build, e60 m5 is one of my top 3 best sounding cars ever, so happy you are giving it the love it deserves. The best sounding one I have heard in person had infinity design equal length headers and ITBS, a really throaty intake sound, wish you the best of luck with you legal action and looking forward to more videos :)
This man boutta get the CSL intake manifold for this beast! Cant wait to hear that sir! Big maintenance moves and upgrades. I cant wait to get out of debt to do all this to mine.
Great to see you doing ALL this to the car, is a lot of money, but in return you'll get a lot of car. Carbon Plenum incoming and exhaust, that M5 is going to sing. 🤘
I own a 335xi myself, love the car, but I would never own another BMW again. It is an absolute nightmare to work on, and most parts cannot simply be bought at an auto store. I commend you for this work sir, good luck!
This makes me ponder how many scammers are actually out there that have "paperwork" for the car. People seldom verify it with the shops... and it would be an easy way to sell unwanted cars for a much higher price with little to no repercussions. Be careful out there folks.
Hope everything works out! I know I want a E61 with the six speed or get one with the SMG and do the conversion (because i want it and content). So definitely following this series for updates. As always, keep your head up and continue the amazing work
Very happy to see all that improvements and pieces replacements. I also had made kind of replacements in some parts of my M5. Very good, congratulations.
I commend you! I KNOW your heart wasn't into it, but it looks like things are coming together. Thank you for this video. Keep pushing forward. I'm anxious to see me on this M5!
Dream car! Thank you for the content! I’m sure this won’t mess with the trial, as long as you keep all the old parts and the old bearings. The old bearings are a clear indicator that the previous owner lied and they were never changed and whatever else he said they did.
Karma’s a bitch, hope they rip that seller a new one. I have ZERO tolerance for people who do this crap. It’s just like you said, someone who may have bought this on their last dollar because it was their dream car would have been totally fucked over.
Having owned this car for 10 years I can tell you the hawk break pads for the e60 m5 are terrible and will make a lot of dust and not last as long as oem. Also the hgk spark plugs will go out fairly quickly and you’ll be playing wack a mole replacing them one by one. Also oem ignition coils are pricey, but remember that aftermarket’s will stick and break on there. Have fun! 😊
I just bought a 2014 RS5 and the first thing I had to address was 1100 for evap system they hid! Love the car though. M5 looks killer, sorry to see the issues.
those bearing were cooked. most likely due to maintenance neglect (too long of an oil change interval) and contamination in the oil. wonder what the main bearings look like. get a scope cam and see what the piston tops look like (if they are all carboned up and nasty). might be a good idea to run some seafoam or some other decarbonization cleaner thru it.
Nice choice of Bilstein stuts and H&R springs combo... I have the same setup on my E60 M5.... It will be a little more firm than stock but you won't regret it!
Loving the content. Also liking the positive outlook after being scammed on the purchase. Kudos. I got my e60 m5 a couple of months ago. Look into the infinity designs CSL intake and plenum. Carbon fibre goodness it looks and sounds incredible! I've got one ordered getting fitted next week! 😀😀
The sellers need to be brought to book to pay for their sleazy business practices. I hope you and the shop they forged documents from can nail them thoroughly.
control arm bushings need to be torqued with the car on the ground or they will twist and prematurely ware. and the springs need to sit in the groove of the bottom of the strut.
Great content bro , I did same and much more to my M5 , I need to ask why does my rpm drops at idle when I rev it, it drops to 500 tpms and thr gains back to 750 rpm, what should I check , evap vents just changed , could be a vacume leak, or anything ?
I think it would help your case honestly! You can show all the parts that were claimed to be fixed and bam! Evidence right there, can't fake it then! Excited to see the M5 in its true glory soon. However, dealing with a similiar case, touching it means also, you could've put those bad parts in too. Legal doesn't like that I guess.
Nice video, man that ramp makes things so much easier... with regards to the control arms, i hope you tightened them with weight on them, they must be tightened in the ride height otherwise they will wear out very quickly!
@@VehicleVirals in that case it’s understandable. Maybe in the future you could give product 49-234923 a try. It is essentially a B8 package with more adjustability. The B8 struts actually have a shorter piston shaft to accommodate for lowering as to still have adequate positioning and travel. The B6 are prone to bottoming out with lowering springs.
Well , did u know that I can tight up control arms only when the car is on the ground? U might have to change them again at this point. Because that’s how u get your bushings spun. Rod bearings were tired but not completely done yet. Mine were only cupper ….
I love it and thank you for making more videos to help BMW users like me! My 2005 BMW 520i is having a problem that the repair shop can't figure out! 😨 .Can you help me? After the engine was rebuilt, the problem was that the throttle was not even. When I first started the engine, the throttle went up and down in a sine wave. After about 100km, the car sometimes continued to have the throttle problem but it was worse 😰! However, the car didn't report any errors! Please help me ❤
I just don’t understand how you thought a car flipper did 13k of work on the car before selling it. And easy car fax would of told you how long they had it for
B6(made for stock height ) with h*&r not s good combo I try this combo and soon after dumped the h&r for dinan and was night and day B8 are the ones for lowering springs

You learned an expensive lesson. Research BEFORE you buy. The car and then the seller/dealer. I actually bought my E64 BECAUSE of the rod bearing issue. BEFORE I purchased it, I was like "Why is such a super fast super amazing car worth close to nothing? Why did they take such a nose dive?" After finding out the reputation of the car (BY THE WAY REPLACE YOUR VANOS LINES WHILE YOURE DOING THAT WORK!!!!!! It's only $650 extra!) I realized that most people who could buy them new at $120K are doctors and lawyers. Guess how much they know about cars? ZERO. So they would start it in 30 degree weather and hammer it WAY before the engine was up to temp. Essentially I got those exact bearings! Too funny. I read up and BE was the ONLY company willing to post their specs. Also they ADJUST THE JOURNAL CLEARANCE GAP!!!! This is HUGE important. It FIXES THE ISSUE. Plus they coat theirs and they are a higher tensile strength. They are high performance racing bearings which is what BMW should have put in, in the first place. Bottom line is now you have NOTHING to worry about. Any shop (BE) that can adjust a clearance .00025 of an inch has seriously expensive equipment. A honda 4 banger for example probably has .025 This car has .0125 Way too tight. (I know usually there is no such thing as "too" tight but in this case, yes) Either way, READ READ READ and you will SAVE SAVE SAVE.. I did the exact same research when I got my Maserati Quattroporte. Again a big scare b/c of design and ownership. (On my E64 the engine issues and transmission issues are mostly ownership related) The SMG E64/E60 transmission IS absolute shit but if you get the right clutch and you maintenance it regularly (when you're supposed to) you should never have major issues with it. (That's why they dropped it and went to the DSC trans) Anyhow if you add up ALL of my cost on each car, BOTH have doubled in value. I go to shows and get offers worth easily twice what I have into them. Actually I have other cars as well and that is how I turn them into investments. The E64 has 50K on it original miles and the Quattroporte has 34K original miles. You take your time and you can find low mileage cars. I also have an E31. (850CI, I cannot for the life of me find let alone find someone willing to sell their 850csi) It has 48K miles and runs beautifully. It was in absolutely mint condition. That car again has a bad reputation.. There isn't a lot you can do to avoid some of the known issues (steering being the main one) but engine wise you can definitely take the pain out today thanks to 3rd party parts that are designed to eliminate the flaws. GOOD LUCK! on your case. You definitely have your work cut out for you b/c of what you more than likely signed. they probably put indemnity clauses in there to cover their arse. "AS-IS" is based of the actual condition of the vehicle not what they "told you" so there is that too. You learned an expensive lesson. Research BEFORE you buy. The car and then the seller/dealer.
I actually bought my E64 BECAUSE of the rod bearing issue. BEFORE I purchased it, I was like "Why is such a super fast super amazing car worth close to nothing? Why did they take such a nose dive?"
After finding out the reputation of the car (BY THE WAY REPLACE YOUR VANOS LINES WHILE YOURE DOING THAT WORK!!!!!! It's only $650 extra!) I realized that most people who could buy them new at $120K are doctors and lawyers. Guess how much they know about cars? ZERO.

A honda 4 banger for example probably has .025
This car has .0125 Way too tight. (I know usually there is no such thing as "too" tight but in this case, yes)
Either way, READ READ READ and you will SAVE SAVE SAVE..
I did the exact same research when I got my Maserati Quattroporte. Again a big scare b/c of design and ownership. (On my E64 the engine issues and transmission issues are mostly ownership related)
The SMG E64/E60 transmission IS absolute shit but if you get the right clutch and you maintenance it regularly (when you're supposed to) you should never have major issues with it. (That's why they dropped it and went to the DSC trans)
Anyhow if you add up ALL of my cost on each car, BOTH have doubled in value.
Either way, your best bet to "prove intent/motive" is to do this:
Establish with the court that malfeasance and deception fall under the same result: Fraud/Negligence
Establish that the proof with intent is the history.
You absolutely need to subpoena ALL of their records ESPECIALLY financial bank transactions.
This way if they have a shredding fest or their records PC just happens to shite the bed, you have a huge contact list of customers. HIT UP EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER!!!! Once you find at least 5 other customers you now have class-action momentum. Choose ONE law firm to keep the billing down as much as possible. You may not get a dime but they will be OUT OF BUSINESS which is really what needs to happen anyhow.
