I needed this start of the video. Guys, I’m so depressed it’s not okay. I need prayers as I’ve had a traumatic event happen in my own home. I need healing, and listening to Phil at the beginning is something I know the Lord has driven me to this very moment today. Like he’s talking to me through this video. Thank you.
@@its.emma.official thank you. It’s really hard, I feel like a complete mess, my brain is a mess. I’m trying to now start doing things that’ll make me happy to distract myself. That’s a decision I made today so I hope it helps
As I travel through a marriage that is in trouble and a husband who doesn’t want to put in effort, I watch your family and know that there is the potential for an amazing life out there. I am always lifted by watching your family and I am proud of your commitments and I know you’re both grateful for the life you’ve built. ❤️
I get so excited when you guys upload. It’s made my day today. I am on bed rest with unexplained second trimester bleeding. Had an ultrasound today and baby looks fine and healthy, we just can’t figure out why I’m bleeding randomly.
I’m SO SORRY this is happening. And I do hope they find the cause of bleeding, or at least hope it is not harming the baby or u. I pray u carry to term and your baby is born healthy and fine.
....You guys saved my life just now. I was in a bad place. Thoughts so strong I couldn't fight the urge to end what this is in my life. I have cervical cancer, have wanted more kids but I haven't had the heart to restart a relationship...the abuse I went through destroyed me. Your words touched me and appearntly we're exactly what I needed to hear. I still feel listless but not so heavy. Thank you for being you. You guys are my heros
Oh sweet girl. Life can just be so hard…but you are loved and needed! I am SOO proud of you for just taking one step forward. You’ve got this! I wish I could give you a hug right now
Alex, you exude a lovely glow about you, especially when you were looking to Phil as he was talking about mental health. I have learned so much from your life on the homestead!! I enjoy watching everything grow and of course the girls are constantly changing. Lotsa love
You just blow me away because you are teaching others about making life your own and it doesn't matter if you get things wrong its part of learning and it is. I think you guys are amazing and your family is gorgeous. Love you videos and what you share with us x
When I moved south it took a few years to acclimate to my new life. I often had similar malady’s as you all. It gets better each year. You are still acclimating. ❤️
I just made home made liquid laundry cleaner! Castile soap, vinegar, glycerin, and lemon EO (the lemon is an anti fungal, viral, biotic, and bacterial) and for helping get mold out of clothes adding an orange and tea tree helps additional funk. And the funk of the clothes might be from the drum of the wash that needs to have the tea tree and lemon or orange EO with the vinegar to just clean the drum itself.
I am so sorry for all of the trauma and depression you are going through… Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you🙏.. This train ride of life definitely does NOT make only make stops at Disney… it also takes you on some painful/bumpy journeys along the way! I had two major open heart surgeries within 5 months of each other… and the things that got me through it were love, prayers, and faith ❤️… wishing you a wonderful weekend from the VERY HOT state of Florida🥵☀️
Just FYI Suggestion: potted plants might look good hanging off your fence. Another TH-camr--The Frey Life--put up a similar fence and discovered that they could put hooks between the slats, it looks great.
Vinegar is also what I do also!! If I forget to add the vinegar to the washer, I will spritz the clothes in the dryer! We also run the cleaning cycle on the washer to make sure the outer side of the drum is not moldy!!
For laundry…. I use a combination of vinegar, baking soda, sea salt, tea tree oil, and a bit of grated fels-naphtha. I’ve been doing this for years and it’s made a huge difference. Our clothes are so much cleaner.
Heads up on laundry! I used those homemade laundry soap recipes for so so long until I learned something very interesting. True soap actually doesn’t do super well with porous materials like clothing. You know how you get soap scum buildup on your shower walls? The same thing happens on your clothes. That’s why detergents are so much better for you clothes. They rinse cleaner and leave less of a residual stink behind. I also highly recommend stripping your clothes every once in a while. Dumping them in a bathtub full of hot water with a cup of powdered laundry detergent (tide is the best), a cup of washing soda, and a cup of borax. You’ll be disgusted with what it pulls out, and amazed at how much better your laundry smells!
I needed this video today. I am currently dealing with my second round of “the virus” this year and it’s been really rough this time around.🥺 Thank you for always finding a way to brighten any day, no matter the season we may be facing. Love you guys so much.
So I just had to share with you that I said this week: we're letting our love multiply! Because.....we were getting two goats and came home with three, and we ordered 8 chicks and they sent us 10! Haha! We just seem to be gaining so many little critters and I love it! I love watching you videos and watching YOUR homestead grow too! Its so encouraging! ♡♡♡♡
I just adore how Alex and Phil look at each other 🤍 I’ve been a subscriber for many years and that look and profound love that they have for each other is so beautiful!
Just seeing the sweet faces of you and your family, and adorable animals always helps me feel better! LOVE and PRAYERS ALWAYS from Gainesville Florida.❤🙏😊🙏❤
Have you checked if maybe you have mold somewhere in your house. That would explain you all getting sick often. Because you are leading such a healthy life being outside and you can both be so round of yourselves in what you have accomplished in such a short time. 🥰
Such good advice about getting help before things get too bad Sadly too late for a friend of my daughter who took her own life last week. Huge shock to everyone who knew her, she was a beautiful soul and I just wish she could have reached out for help in time to save her
I use vinegar for LOTS of cleaning.. when you are feeling a cold or sore throat come on , use apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons and 2 tablespoons honey (local if possible) half a lemon squeezed and some warm almost hot water .I use the little mason jars to mix and measure in then you already have a cup too .
This is the first year we’ve actually had a garden, we’ve got 3 green bean plants, 2 pepper plants, a few tomato plants and a little snack cucumber plant and I am loving it!! Being out and getting dirty just weeding the garden feels so good in my soul! You’ve inspired me Alex, I’d love to have a garden of your size one day
I'm so very happy for you guys! Living your dreams, loving each other, and encouraging all of your followers! May God bless and protect you always! Praying that your love multiplies in many ways!
Love hearing the faith based videos. Miss hearing Philip talk/preach. Go out in that beautiful green field and share the Lord. So many people need the Lord and are seeking Him. These are strange times.
Another FYI: I'm a chemist working in the federal government. I'm not trying to push chemicals but just fyi, there are certain ingredients in commercial detergents such as surfactants that give the product certain properties such as foam control, dissolving in water, etc. The other thing to be mindful about is mixing different chemicals/substances/products because sometimes they react (the classic example is chlorine bleach and ammonia). If you are interested in consumer-friendly sources of info let me know. I love seeing your little farm evolve:)))
I love your encouragement for better mental health and therapy. Mental health needs to improve worldwide and hopefully we’re moving in that direction. The more and more people talk about good mental health and steps to get there, the better off we will be. I’ve always loved following you and you just keep giving me more and more reasons why I continue to. ❤️
Vinegar will cause metal to rust (stainless also). I used to use it in the rinse cycle of the dishwasher all the time, but those were rentals and I wasn't there long enough to see the mess it is capable of. Got a brand new dishwasher a few years ago and already there is rusting, especially the tines that separate the plates and such. One rusted and broke right off. We had a plumber in to fix the washer and I asked him about vinegar and he said the ph will cause it to pit and eventually rust any metal parts. You should use a pack of kool-aid lemonade without the sugar as a cleaner fot dishwasher and washer. The citric acid will clean beautifully! Dishes with no spots and use the kool-aid once or twice a month depending on how often you use them. Diswasher run on long cycle and washer filled half way with hot water... slosh it a minute and let sit for hour. Then run the full cycle. The smell tends to stay in the washer from being damp and should leave door open between use. Works great! Best money spent on a plumber with a free side of great advice 😀
I hope this helps, after you clean the tub in your washer, leave the door of your washer open for a time so the water doesn't "mold" and cause a funky smell in between use.
Not sure how or even if this fits in with your gardening philosophy but growing potatoes in old car tyres is so easy and fun. Start with 2 tyres placed on the ground. Plant your potatoes in good soil in the tyres. When they have a nice amount of foliage place another tyre on top and add more soil. The plants will continue to grow upwards and potatoes will form in the soil as it goes up. Paint the tyres bright colours if you want it to look fun. Once the plant dies back at the end of the season, start to remove the tyres harvesting your potatoes layer by layer. The easiest no dig method.
Alex - good tip about the vinegar! I have discovered a wonderful laundry product - Tru Earth - it is dehydrated earth-friendly laundry soap that comes in a sheet and is packaged in a compostible box! No need to carry all the water in regular laundry soap home from the store in a non-recyclable plastic jug. I have been using Tru Earth for a year and a half and I am well pleased with the job it does. I'll try the vinegar, but this stuff is great!
Very hot here in the UK driest summer since 1972. Lot of grass fires and houses catching fire. Water sprinklers to be banned very soon as gradually running very low on water in parts of the country. Everybody's Gardens are looking very yellow and dried up.
Remember to clean your washing machine too! Sometimes they have mold and mildew growing around the doors, and in the drawers where you put the detergent. Do a deep clean and see if that "stinky" smell is still there!
You can purchase a black tarp to go on your garden area. It will kill all the weeds and grasses growing there. Keep it down till next growing season. season next gr
I have a councilor (biblical & a psychologist) and I have never hidden it but that's amazing I'm going to look into this for my bestie as he really needs it. Praying that it can be used in the UK 🙏so glad that you said please don't skip forward 🙌🤍🌻 That's made me think YES I will try that for washing our clothes as if my godchild came over then that's so true as our kids are a lot older now I don't have baby locks (I still make it as safe as possible for him btw 🤦🏼♀️) X
Alex, Please consider another natural laundry idea. I have a product called Eco WasherPro. It is connected to my washing maching cold water line. When the water passes through the Eco Washer Pro it adds oxygen to the water and turns it into hydrogen peroxide. As we know water is H2O and water is H2O2 and hydrogen peroide kills germs. Ho spitals use Eco Washeres or some brand of the same sort of product. Also your cloths do not need fabric softener in the rinse cycle or in the dryer
ALEX AND. PHILIP. PLEASE READ Hi Alex an Philip thanks so very much about taking about betterhelp today I will definitely be giving them a look up. In everyone of ur video’s u both make u both always make me feel a lot happier and I won’t to say thank you so very much. Also if ur having extremely hot days where u live please remember to keep watering ur hay bail that u have just rolled out because it will get really hot on the very bottom then it’s very possible it will burn which is so extremely scary it happened to us as well we didn’t give it a think and our neighbors noticed a strange smell and came running in so we were very lucky that they could reach with there hose to put out for about an hour we both just poured water onto it so every day we had to do this summer so please keep a close eye on it just in case. Where I live in Australia 🇦🇺 it’s winter still and really quite cold still have the flannel pj’s on for bed and snow ❄️ is still falling only about a 1.5 hour drive from home town
You may want to consider having a pressurized rainwater catchment system installed so have as a backup. Was going to suggest the vinegar to make clothes smell clean and be soft. If people do use less healthy laundry stuff it also helps to get that residue out
When I steam clean my carpet, which is every two weeks, the last water I use, I put vinegar in it, Vinegar is good for a lot of things, but sometimes I also use hydrogen peroxide, that’s just more expensive than vinegar, both pull the las soap out The girls are so sweet and I love all your animals It’s been 116 here, low 100 today
I used natural laundry soap and I use vinegar every time I do laundry. I agree that once I started using the vinegar my laundry smelt better and felt clean.
Hi guys No one can heal themselves.... We all need help...... Whether it be infertility or just plain depression due to life's circumstance. Many medical issues such as pcos can cause many mental heath issues... So gr8 you are being caring individuals who also educate... Xxx
White vinegar is available as cleaning vinegar at Walmart it’s wonderful with baking soda. You can also put your baking soda in a bowl and add your favorite essential oils and mix it in and use it everywhere-laundry, carpet cleaner whatever!! I keep it around always
I fill up the fabric softener dispenser of my washing machine with Vinegar (white distilled). I have done that for years, it makes everything fresh and keeps my towels soft. I have sensitive skin so I have to use a laundry detergent that doesn't have sents/perfume.
Have you checked/cleaned the filter in the washing machine where the gunk collects (usually at the bottom) use a tray and towel as water will come out, it may help.
We're in deep winter here in the Blue Mountains (west of Sydney) Down Under. But my heart goes out to you in the heat (heatwaves occurring across Europe and the UK as well) - we know ALL about heat Down Here. 😁
I've been using vinegar in my laundry especially towels for years, but just thought maybe should try some citrus infused vinegar and see if that provides a citrus fragrance to my clothes.
I just want to say that I always learn something from every one of your videos! Thank you for always sharing openly what is on your heart to share. Also, I love all the garden info...I watched the hour long video and learned so much!! 😊💕🌻
Hello lovely family, I’m watching right now. Your lifestyle is how I hope to be down the road…gardening and looking after animals and loving my babies. 🤍 I hope you post all about your garden, I love seeing you progress from the apartment to now having a house covered in home grown foods. It’s not boring at all and vlogs aren’t a waste of time I enjoy them. 😌
I have tried natural detergent and vinegar but in the hot weather here and all the sweat, it unfortunately doesn't help when the clothes are soaked in sweat every day. However, even with the toxic detergents, there are different levels. Just going perfume free is making a big health difference when you deal with allergies. About heatwaves, yes we are getting to the time of the year when you are just tired of the heat. 95°F Jerusalem, Israel
With out a doubt this vlog was awesome. I love the new garden area and the fence . The animals all of them are enjoyable to watch, funny too. The girls are so adorable. Love all that you do making your house a home. God Bless your beautiful family, hope your feeling better. Thanks for sharing.
Love that! Easy is key! I think for so many our mental and physical is at its lowest when we are raising young kids. So easy to put it all on the back burner
I would like to recommend Blueland detergent and dishwasher detergent. It comes in tablets - no plastic! They come with pretty light blue tins to keep the tablets in. When you reorder the tablets come in a paper package. Plastic is not good for us or the Earth! I’m really trying to get rid of as much plastic as possible.
I gotta have my April fresh Downy and Tide. Gotta be clean, disinfected, and smell good. I'm proud of anyone who can do the homemade laundry soap. I love all your sweet animals.
While you're melting in your summer, in Australia we are in Winter. Where I live it was a little frosty this morning at 5°C which I think equates to 42°F.
Our neighbor has a pig that escapes his enclosure every single day. He looks just like Ricky. He started going further and further and last week the pig was picked up by the police over a mile away. 😂 He got a field trip in a police car.
Oh absolutely the vinegar trick, I do not use fabric softener, no need, the vinegar softens clothes, AND better yet, your not gumming up pumps with fabric softener.
Sounds like you need to clean the drum of your washing machine. Most energy efficient washing machines build up mildew and mold behind the drum and seals.
I just love yall so much! I'm definitely here for the garden vlogs! I'm loving vicariously through you because this is my dream! I wish we could come visit and get a crash course in gardening 🤣
The heat here in our part of Virginia has been awful. our tomatoes just split from the heat. We have had some rain, not a whole whole lot but we have had some rain! I do feel for the homeless and animals in this heat!!! Hope you guys do well, tell the kids Hidy!!!!
What I did when my little ones were going up. I put there name on there own laundry basket. I thin would help them learn how to do there own laundry. I was right there with them and I made it fun for them. They loved it. The end of each week I would help them out and show them how to do it. That away I wasn’t sorting through all the clothes.
I think the same way about cleaning products! I don't have kids but I have pets and I am terrified that they might accidentally ingest a cleaning product, so I do most of my cleaning with vinegar and baking soda.
I love how the power of editing made the arbour look like it took a few minutes while anyone who has had to do it knows that was a few hours lol. Good job guys! It looks like it's coming along sooo nicely
Just what I was thinking about, too 🙂 Also, potatoes should be placed and sowed much further away from the other garden, so that the tomatoes doesn't get the leafmold from the leafs on the potatoes (have forgotten what it's called 🙈)... Potatoes and tomatoes being closely related...🙂...
What's your opinion on freeze driers. I've been watching several homesteading, gardening vlogs where they use a freeze dried and mylar bags w/oxygen obsorbers to freeze-dry fruits, onions to make onion powder, garlic for garlic powder, blueberries, strawberries, spinach, kale, and most foods grown in the garden. The fruits make terrific fruit snacks with all the flavor of the fresh ripe fruit. It can be rehydrated to use in cooking. I don't have a garden, but am considering investing in one and just looking for great sales of bulk organic fruit and veggies sounds like it would be worthwhile. I may try sharing the freeze dried with my grown children or sisters!
It’s winter here and in Shepparton in regional Victoria Australia tonight it is going to get to -4 Celsius over night and 14 oC in the day. We are stuck in iso as we all got covid from hubby bringing it home from work. Hubby got it the worst and the rest of us got it like a cold. The kids have been running around like crazy. Even our heart transplant kid. I have so many seedlings getting ready to plant in my gardens. I only have you both to thank. I am also going to get 2 chickens for eggs.

That's made me think YES I will try that for washing our clothes as if my godchild came over then that's so true as our kids are a lot older now I don't have baby locks (I still make it as safe as possible for him btw 🤦🏼♀️) X
I loved the music you picked when you both were working on the side yard.
If people do use less healthy laundry stuff it also helps to get that residue out
I stuck through the last video with enthusiasm!!! I enjoy the inspiration. Thank you so much
Just wonderful - you guys are so influential
When I steam clean my carpet, which is every two weeks, the last water I use, I put vinegar in it,
Vinegar is good for a lot of things, but sometimes I also use hydrogen peroxide, that’s just more expensive than vinegar, both pull the las soap out
The girls are so sweet and I love all your animals
It’s been 116 here, low 100 today
I used natural laundry soap and I use vinegar every time I do laundry. I agree that once I started using the vinegar my laundry smelt better and felt clean.
Hi guys
No one can heal themselves.... We all need help...... Whether it be infertility or just plain depression due to life's circumstance. Many medical issues such as pcos can cause many mental heath issues... So gr8 you are being caring individuals who also educate... Xxx
Can we just give you guys a BIG HUG?!? ❤️👏🏻❤️👍🙏🏻 Thank you!
I love your message! Thank you.
White vinegar is available as cleaning vinegar at Walmart it’s wonderful with baking soda. You can also put your baking soda in a bowl and add your favorite essential oils and mix it in and use it everywhere-laundry, carpet cleaner whatever!! I keep it around always
i love watching and learning from your gardening/homestead videos. you are giving many folks education and inspiration❤❤
UK very dry and hot 40C. No more rainy, gloomy UK. We have the Revear here now just the Ocean is cold but feels fresh in a hot day
I use to clean my clothes wirh vinegar for years. I love how the vinegar cleaned my clothes, but it rusted my washing machine.
I use a Swiffer mop with microfibre cloths to wash the floor- it picks up everything- I also use the microfibre cloth to dust....they are awesome!!!!!
Just love the pigs roaming in and out of areas!! And all the gardening tips.. thank you 😊
I fill up the fabric softener dispenser of my washing machine with Vinegar (white distilled). I have done that for years, it makes everything fresh and keeps my towels soft. I have sensitive skin so I have to use a laundry detergent that doesn't have sents/perfume.
Love how you acknowledged that some people know the hack but some may not. I always tell my kids not to assume everyone knoes
Have you checked/cleaned the filter in the washing machine where the gunk collects (usually at the bottom) use a tray and towel as water will come out, it may help.
For laundry I would also suggest cleaning your washer and dryer well if you feel the clothes aren’t coming out clean
Beautiful! You might want to weather your boards that you will be using in the future so they will match the first section.
Can you guys do a video on nontoxic household products?! Soaps, box wash, shampoo, cleaners, etc.
Big beautiful gardens, I love it. Cassidy’s giggles are so sweet
Im in Queensland Australia and its been extremely wet and freezing 🥶 cold here. It's our winter but this year is a lot wetter and colder than usual.
With out a doubt this vlog was awesome. I love the new garden area and the fence . The animals all of them are enjoyable to watch, funny too. The girls are so adorable. Love all that you do making your house a home. God Bless your beautiful family, hope your feeling better. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you guys are getting help ❤️
We did counseling when we were starting to consider embryo adoption and it helped our communication tremendously!
I am literally in my hospital bed in early labor and saw this video pop up and got sooooo excited 😆!!!!
Good luck!!
Thank you!!
Sending prayers for you and baby.
Congratulations!🎉❤
Ooo exciting -good luck n pop by and tell us what you had!
This little piggy went wee wee wee all the way home 🏡 🤪😁😉
Addition to the vinegar... It can smell super strong from washer to dryer. The smell does go away when laundry is dry. 🤓
I'm in Scotland and it's very windy just now but still sunny
Just don’t plant right up next to your house. You really need to come out about 3’ before starting any kind of row planting.
Just what I was thinking about, too 🙂
Also, potatoes should be placed and sowed much further away from the other garden, so that the tomatoes doesn't get the leafmold from the leafs on the potatoes (have forgotten what it's called 🙈)...
Your improved side garden is great! well done 😀
