@ivorycreekhandmade thank you, recently I am facing some problems, actually my soap saponify faster,I think within 2 to 3 minutes, it troubles me alot , even using Lye conc . of 26%. Can you suggest me anything on LC.
@wow-watch it’s tough when things are not working out 😢 It’s really tricky to troubleshoot when there are so many variables I don’t know about e.g. recipe, local weather, etc. but looking at the lye concentration it’s quite a high amount of liquid in the recipe which can for sure speed things up. One of the ways you can ensure a soap gels if you don’t have an oven is to use a higher amount of liquid in the recipe 😁 maybe try adjusting the lye concentration from 26% (2.8:1 water:lye ratio) to 33% (2:1 water:lye ratio). I think this adjustment might help buy you more time 🥰
@Stamada2 the majority of fragrance or essential oils you get from reputable soap supply companies will have notes on whether they’re good in cold process soap. But mostly you won’t know how it reacts until you test it in your particular recipe (what rices in one recipe won’t necessarily rice in another). We use a 5% super fat.
Very helpful information, the madder root is beautiful, pleased to find your channel.
Thank you so much 🥰 I’m glad you’re here ☺️
What is the percentage of Lye Conc. you have used in this recipe
We use a 1.5:1 ratio for our lye solution 🙂
