When Ghost Husband was first aired, my life literally stopped as I was so addicted to the story and dying to see the next episode. The acting by the casts was so real that I didn't feel it was a fiction at all. It was truly a speelbinding drama that after 2 decades, my love for Ghost Husband has never diminished.
This brings back teenage memories.. I was so in love with the series and the songs that I bought the OST cassette then make an effort to learn Mandarin and bought dictionaries to understand the lyrics (there was no internet then)
In Malaysia, the whole trilogy was broadcast over a private tv channel in the late 1990s or early 2000s (I cannot recall clearly)at 2 pm from Monday to Friday.
@@Scarlett2006I see. That's why old school Chinese drama, especially Mandarin drama, will always be the best for me because of their nice storyline, historically accurate costumes and beautiful music. Cantonese drama was also aired here in the Philippines. The Filipino entertainment industry has a lot to learn from Mandarin and Cantonese drama, especially when it comes to making historical and period drama series. P.S.: GMA-7 will soon be airing a historical drama set in the Japanese Occupation of the Philippines entitled "Pulang Araw" ("Red Sun"), starring David Licauco and Barbie Forteza.
Why does she never place her any of her stories' setting where it isn't the Qing dynasty or Republican era? Her distant cousin, Louis Cha has more patriotism and love for his ethnic heritage.

The same goes for me. The overall story and themes are great. I watched it for the first time, and I was instantly hooked.

The Plum Blossom Trilogy was aired on ABC-5 here in the Philippines in the mid-1990's.
Mid 90s was the blooming era for mandarin drama especially in South East Asia countries as the wave came in few years after it was released.

Because technically the ROC still believes it is the rightful government after the Qing?
Yes, but during the Chiang Era.
