Nice reaction! They write all their own original songs - Damiano is the lyricist and they write the music together.
Also, you should know that Marlena is actually not a real woman, Marlena is a personification of their muse/creative inspiration. So when in Torna a Casa (Come back home), he sings Marlena torna a casa they are actually pleading with their creative inspiration to return and inspire them some more, because they are afraid that without this they will disappear as artists.
It’s incredible how much creativity they’re able to put into their music! I think Marlena is a huge help when building their craft 😆
Thanks for doing the whole album. Pretty good insights. Damiano who writes all the lyrics, is quite the poet and likes to use symbolism and metaphors, so often the lyrics van have multiple meanings to the listener. He pretty much has said that he wants people to relate to their work at a personal level. If you understand that they want to write fun songs as well as hard songs and meaningful songs, then you can understand the multiple sounds and genres. This album is close to 3 years old and Thomas was 17!
This is their first full album and they experimented with many different genres, so it's very diverse, later in the album "Teatro D'ira" they specialized more on rock songs.
I can’t wait to hear more of what they have in store!

I think they were experimenting a lot in this album and am happy they chose the more rocky stile at the end, fits them the most imo, so you find it in their last lp too, had fun watching you, go Måneskin🎸🎶❤

According to what I heard and read from random interviews at the time they published their first album they were yes experimenting whole looking for their band identity but they also were a bit pushed away from the harder rock because people (I assume the rec label, manager, prod etc) were telling them not to do rock, by the time started to work on the second album they decided to go all the way with rock and see what would happen.

listening to the album several times.
It's rather filled with pop, which the next album isn't.
So do what Didi Doldi asks, that would be cool.

They published the album when they were 17,18,18,19 so the songs were written even earlier, a little bit of cockiness in the lyrics might be understandable I guess...
The “meh” reaction to Torna a casa and Le parole lontane is really surprising as they are the two most well loved songs of this album amongst fans. I am now interested to see if this will also translate to your reaction to Teatro d’ira and you are just not a guy drawn to ballads. Or potentially impacted more strongly by the language barrier…
