Great series so far! There are English names for the regions of Denmark. The peninsula is called Jutland, Sjælland is called Zealand (not to confuse with Zeeland in the Netherlands), and finally the small island inbetween Jutland and Zealand is called Funen.
ONG WEIJIE Yes, the northern parts of Sweden were still mostly pagan (i.e Germanic), but there were still some activity in southern Sweden aswell. Although Sweden was officially Christianized by the 12th century, the Norwegian king Sigurd the Crusader undertook a crusade against Småland, the south-eastern part of the Swedish kingdom in the early 12th century, and officially it was in order to convert the locals. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianization_of_Scandinavia#Sweden www.bbc.co.uk/history/ancient/vikings/religion_01.shtml
Nooooo Arumbaaaaa! You should have definitely gone Quality. Then after that next military idea group Offensive. You could have gotten insane Discipline + the infantry combat ability.
***** Most idea groups have some in it that are kinda "meh", but if the rest are good it's worth taking the group even if you're paying points for ideas that aren't thrilling.
***** To be honest if it didn't have those sub-par naval abilities it would probably be one of the most broken idea groups in the game. Everything in Quality is about improving your troops, if those weren't about navy that would be even more modifiers for land armies
***** Its not like the recruitment time or prestige from battles in Offensive are much more useful. You probably shouldn't take Quality if you are landlocked, but ship durability and morale are very good modifiers if you want to secure naval superiority(Naval attrition is still useless though).
Oh Arumba, dont be such a chicken. You will regret not taking Danzig, because now Poland will take it as soon as their truce with Teutonic Order ends. I am really curious how are you going to take that province from them ;)
The AE for Danzig was with 3 scrubs & Brandenburg... really no reason not to take it, especially when others are very likely to grab it as soon as they can.
i feel like every time i engage in a battle even if i have a ton of army boosts and an amazing leader, i can still lose because i get shit roles consistently.
How can he see on what number he'll settle in for his army tradition? I've heard him say it when talking about prestige also but never figured it out...
Jeroen Van Droogenbroeck Decay is 5%. 5% of 20 is a decay of 1 which is directly offset by a growth of 1. In other words, every +1 bumps the floor up by 20.
arumba i have to be honest with you the constant Eu4. i still watch a lot of your videos but it is really starting to get stale. try mixing it up with more games. mount and blade: warband or any of the total wars. i really don't mind the game as long as you are in to it. Eu4 overload, nut if you really want to stick to eu4 try some extended timeline
It can get stale but this channel is mainly built around EUIV and other paradox games, try looking at other youtubers they may have more content you can enjoy
Nebnitan I think there is a bit too much EU4 i wish he would do some CK2 again, i think its more fun managing characters and the intrigue is more fun for mulitplayer

Nebnitan He does upload videos of factorio and age of wonders, and some time ago galactic civilizations. And there also the offworld trading company series. It's not only EU4.
Suggestion. Before the religious war. Fight some small wars to konvert some of the small roman states to protestantism. It might help if you want a chance in the war.
To be fair, Sweden was overpowered throughout the bulk of this period. It's power only took a dive after the 1720s and the Great Northern war. France is significantly harder to justify.
You both realize that the Napoleonic period was at the very end, right? And it was mostly due to the revolution and Napoleon's abilities as a leader. While France was very powerful, their bonuses aren't natural. Sweden actually did have most of the benefits granted them in the game, while France consistently gets ludicrously O.P. leaders. France was very powerful, but the game grants them too much of a bonus.
Noah Blank Sweden was never a particularly strong nation, they merely were surrounded with weak countries. Except Russia, who did admittedly hand Sweden's ass to it every once in a while. France was the strongest nation in Europe from Charlemagne's days (hell, go back 2 generations to Charles Martel, or even back to Clovis) all the way up to the dissolution of the Napoleonic Empire. That's from the Dissolution of Western Rome to the Victorian Era for England and the Unification of Germany.
Sweden: www.tacitus.nu/historical-atlas/scandinavia/sweden.htm Summed up as: we grew, we grew a bit more, we got subjugated, we grew a bit, we're free!, we grew a bit, we shrunk a bit, we got our ass handed to us, modern day. There's nothing in that that screams "super power" especially not when compared to Britain, Russia, Spain, formation of Germany and yes even France. Hel, even the unification of Italy from all those minor, sometimes waring, states is a bigger accomplishment imo.
Plus admirals are usually rather shitty... The ai will always try to rebuild there army if they can in a war, but they never get their navy back, maybe a ship or two but an admiral is only helpful in one battle, maybe more with the naval ai tweak but saving military points adds up. Only going one over the leader pool is ok, but for an admiral not really
I just imagine Paradox on a torture chamber tying people up and leaving a tape that loops saying:
"Sweden is not Overpowered"

About morale, i can just imagine a load of vikings screaming loudly and scaring the armies off xD
sycoforbidden vikings were not part of sweden since 1066
Oh really?

***** I presume "Some Vikings" Are paradox
Bram06 Nah, people from Stockholm can't be Vikings. They're the worst people in Sweden.
Arumba: The AI is smarter now
AI: Sends 2 galleys against a navy of 17
Issac1709HD I think that was a movement lock, AI still seems to be getting used to that.
That feeling when you finish watching the nevest episode, and when you finish, the next episode is out!

Poozeh I did Quality and then later on Defensive, no regrets.

could you do an extended timeline play through please arumba, could be at any point in history, but it would be great
Oh Arumba, dont be such a chicken. You will regret not taking Danzig, because now Poland will take it as soon as their truce with Teutonic Order ends. I am really curious how are you going to take that province from them ;)
***** Won't their truce end at the same time as Arumba's?
The 1000 cav you left up there like ... i wish i had more!
Sweden is so OP that France is harder to play. Come on Paradox. Quit lying.
Linkfan001 I think Sweeded has always been a very strong country in EU4.
An4thor 91 wtf is a Sweeded
TheSQUIL Hahahaha
If you find phone typos so funny :D not gonna bother correcting them. I'm sure you can get to it's meaning if you try.
The AE for Danzig was with 3 scrubs & Brandenburg... really no reason not to take it, especially when others are very likely to grab it as soon as they can.
great series :D
i feel like every time i engage in a battle even if i have a ton of army boosts and an amazing leader, i can still lose because i get shit roles consistently.
Whats this music playing, im hearing like melodic death metal mixed with eu4 music, or is it just me
arumba, why would you retreat from a naval fight where you have equal numbers, they had only transpors and you had lights and galleys....
My lovely ideas, when I play as Muscovy was Quanity Ideas. But, Quanity ideas only for countries that have big cash and don't have manpower.
ParadoxFox But some ideas reduce the cost of infantry and cavalry
How can he see on what number he'll settle in for his army tradition? I've heard him say it when talking about prestige also but never figured it out...

waimot Thank you !
You could of asked the Teutonic order to realease Danzing and vasalize them. :)
gr8 m8
Man. It's weird watching Arumba after watching Jake. Really weird.
If you are thinking of sticking with Paradox, why not some Hearts of Iron 3. Start gearing up for IV ?
Can someone tell me what mods Arumba is using.
Phrogflyer just type arumba mods in google and click the first result. there u will find your answer
You are being very passive in this campaign.
Are arumbas videos only in 480p now or is my phone just tripping
Patrick Bartholomew No it can go up to 1080p I think it just takes a couple of minutes after uploading for higher resolutions to become available.
Zorgon 42 it his phone b/c arumba pre uploads
Zorgon 42 Arumba pre-uploads: I can always see 1080 straight away.
TH-cam being the usual derp...

TheSlammer PwndU in a multiplayer sense it would be great but for single player arumba gets bored really fast because it is really boring
Nebnitan He does upload videos of factorio and age of wonders, and some time ago galactic civilizations. And there also the offworld trading company series. It's not only EU4.
You really need to spam galleys if you want to win any more wars against denmark, without naval superiority you have no way to win these wars.
Suggestion. Before the religious war. Fight some small wars to konvert some of the small roman states to protestantism. It might help if you want a chance in the war.
Gonna be a bit difficult to get to Italy...
"The holy ROMAN empire" So good states do exist.
Honestly, if he didn't take danzig, Poland will
Winster Languish Poland has a truce with the Teutons for just as long as he does
Ok I see Pomerania getting Danzig if Poland doesn't. The Teutons are so weak I'm surprised Pomerania hasn't tried for it yet they often do

Noah Blank Aye, France was never Op ;)

Good lord, get an admiral! All the other countries are laughing at your weak navy
Winster Languish Cheating AI gets an extra free leader
