If i as a buyer cant get the price low enough I just leave because it could simply be that the dealer also thinks that my offer is too low, and wont ever agree either. So rather than waste time I just go.

It depends on the customer's ego. If it's low, he'll probably walk away. If it's high, it can be exploited like in the video because the customer would feel like the salesman "won" that interaction.

I met a lot of "whatever" customers. They just walk in, ask the price, and just leave without bargain then mumbled some bad words. I mean, be a smart buyer. Bargain, get some discount first. If you think it is not good enough, try another shop and see if they can give lower price than the previous one. Unless it is a mall. And also do not trick the seller by saying "The other shop can give me this price, you are expensive so give me lower than that". Oh no, keep the price to yourself for comparing purpose. Because most shop pretty much knew the price of their rivals. So that kind of trick will only make you looks shameless and seller will look down on you. If you got a good price, do not push your luck to lower the price. Again, keep all the prices that you got from many shops and just go back the cheap one. Be smart and don't be lazy, if you keep buying from the same shop, trust they will give a good price. I do the same. It is rude if you say "it's expensive" without bargain then just left. Well, we basically don't care but when that kind of customer came back, don't expect the super nice treatment because they already knew what kind of customer you are. Seriously be a smart buyer and not a karen.

Reminds me when I sold my corvette in Germany back in the early 90’s. Two guys showed up just minutes apart. The first guy was an American that thought that the asking price was too high. The second guy was a German that had confused the asking price that was in dollars with Deutschmarks, which at the time were half the value of dollars. The German guy was very enthusiastic to by the car and the American heard this. The American quickly changed his mind and bought the car. It wasn’t until later that I learned that the German guy had his currencies mixed up.
With my mom it starts with "Hello my friend" and is usually followed by 20 min of brutal bargaining and a few "you're killing me" from the salesman part. lol
My uncle is Arab and he was in a negotiation battle with a Mercedes’ dealer ship for 3 days. It was entertaining as hell! The car was originally 25k after taxes and he brought it down to 17k after taxes. Do not negotiate with an Arab guys.

I once sold furnitures and appliances to middle eastern men as my first job. He was trying to haggle on a refrigerator. The original price was 1.2k week after week he came back trying to haggle the price till my supervisor finally sold it to someone else. Afterwards he came back and was looking to buy a stove, it was going for 800. What i did was raised the price to 1k and had him do his haggle, i told him final offer was 800 and he agreed.
This is exactly what our salesmen do, they always take into consideration the haggle, sonetimes they offer double the price and then sell it for half after haggling 🤣
Yoo thats very similar to what happened to me and my dad but we were the customers. We were buying a used Galaxy S6 phone back in the day and my dad haggled the price from 950SAR down to 850SAR then after more haggling, the employee spoke to his manager and got it down to 800SAR which we then agreed to. After agreeing to the device and as the guy was registering the sale on his computer, we somehow saw whats on their screen and saw that the device's price was set to 800SAR originally! So we technically haggled the devices prices to the original price and we laughed at the guy and told him "its originally 800 so we could have bargained for more" while laughing and the guy was all smug. We ended up paying 800 but we were happy.

My advice... Have absolutely ZERO emotion when making a purchase, do your homework on the price, (with the internet that's easy), stand your ground. DO NOT allow the salesman to attempt to befriend you. They are NOT your friend. But also, as a customer, don't spend $100 bucks running around to save yourself $50.

It depends on the customer's ego. If it's low, he'll probably walk away. If it's high, it can be exploited like in the video because the customer would feel like the salesman "won" that interaction.

1. If you say something then don't actually do it. It makes you look bad shows you won't keep your word and shows you actually want the car.
2. It's a little insulting. Like challenging them.
I met a lot of "whatever" customers. They just walk in, ask the price, and just leave without bargain then mumbled some bad words. I mean, be a smart buyer. Bargain, get some discount first. If you think it is not good enough, try another shop and see if they can give lower price than the previous one.
Unless it is a mall.
And also do not trick the seller by saying "The other shop can give me this price, you are expensive so give me lower than that". Oh no, keep the price to yourself for comparing purpose. Because most shop pretty much knew the price of their rivals. So that kind of trick will only make you looks shameless and seller will look down on you. If you got a good price, do not push your luck to lower the price. Again, keep all the prices that you got from many shops and just go back the cheap one. Be smart and don't be lazy, if you keep buying from the same shop, trust they will give a good price.
I do the same. It is rude if you say "it's expensive" without bargain then just left. Well, we basically don't care but when that kind of customer came back, don't expect the super nice treatment because they already knew what kind of customer you are.

Reminds me when I sold my corvette in Germany back in the early 90’s. Two guys showed up just minutes apart. The first guy was an American that thought that the asking price was too high. The second guy was a German that had confused the asking price that was in dollars with Deutschmarks, which at the time were half the value of dollars. The German guy was very enthusiastic to by the car and the American heard this. The American quickly changed his mind and bought the car. It wasn’t until later that I learned that the German guy had his currencies mixed up.

My uncle is Arab and he was in a negotiation battle with a Mercedes’ dealer ship for 3 days. It was entertaining as hell! The car was originally 25k after taxes and he brought it down to 17k after taxes. Do not negotiate with an Arab guys.

I once sold furnitures and appliances to middle eastern men as my first job. He was trying to haggle on a refrigerator. The original price was 1.2k week after week he came back trying to haggle the price till my supervisor finally sold it to someone else. Afterwards he came back and was looking to buy a stove, it was going for 800. What i did was raised the price to 1k and had him do his haggle, i told him final offer was 800 and he agreed.
This is exactly what our salesmen do, they always take into consideration the haggle, sonetimes they offer double the price and then sell it for half after haggling 🤣
Yoo thats very similar to what happened to me and my dad but we were the customers. We were buying a used Galaxy S6 phone back in the day and my dad haggled the price from 950SAR down to 850SAR then after more haggling, the employee spoke to his manager and got it down to 800SAR which we then agreed to.
After agreeing to the device and as the guy was registering the sale on his computer, we somehow saw whats on their screen and saw that the device's price was set to 800SAR originally!
So we technically haggled the devices prices to the original price and we laughed at the guy and told him "its originally 800 so we could have bargained for more" while laughing and the guy was all smug.
We ended up paying 800 but we were happy.

Everything in life is a negotiation. if you notice the one thing that sets other cultures apart from the North American culture is the way they view Time! when you understand this and can be patient along with the using art of negotiation you can find that middle ground
