Train Enthusiasts, Gather Here! | Guinness World Records

The Augusta County Model Railroad Club was established in 1993 by nine model railroad enthusiasts who initially set up in a small building on the grounds of a cement plant in Staunton. They constructed layouts, operated their own trains, and hosted a free Christmas open house for the community to enjoy. As the club expanded, it relocated to Waynesboro. In 2013, the club launched the Shenandoah Valley Train Show, and by 2014, it was operating in both Waynesboro and Staunton. The following year, the club moved to the Staunton Mall, where it remained until the mall closed in 2020.
