It doesn't just capture the ups and downs of the lives of 20 somethings - it captures the ups and downs of adult life for all age groups. Excellent show - and so missed.
Started watching it 3 days ago on Netflix as well (in France) and I'm already halfway through season 3 and I'm already sad at the thought of finishing all seasons in a couple of days.

I used to live un Hamburg and the episode with Claire and Tom in his room saying “First you want to go to Germany, and then your are in Germany and you’re oh I’m so lonely and then you’re just sitting there waiting for more but I don’t think there’s more” I really feel that 🥲 I had the same feeling and he explained very well
Please listen I've been in a hospital for 4 weeks now and lying on my back. It is tough. But please like me with Josh Thomas is unbelievably very good. I've been openly gay since I was 22th years. This series I watched nuballe episodes 1 to chapter 4 in week time. Really this is psychological processing. My life is this movie. to cry so incredibly good emotionally. I liked the first couple seasons but I felt like the characters just continued to be toxic people without properly having to face it or grow from it. I also felt like there was too much of the main character when actually many of the others had interesting stories that deserved to be developed more. I think it would've been better if they'd condensed it to be only a couple of seasons rather than 4 because I also thought the comedy element started to wear thin and all the complaining and insults that were originally funny started to get annoying. On the whole I enjoyed the show and I think it's really original and good but there are certainly a number of points worthy of criticism.

I think this show has good moments and some of the cast are really talented - for instance Allan (Josh's dad), Patrick (Josh's love interest), also the mum and Arnold. Ginger was an amazing, uplifting character (oh the irony). But some of the characters are cruel, retarted, egotistical, to the umpteenth power; they are in their own league of idiocy. And irritating they are! So annoying, boring, stupid. Nothing ever happens and when it does, it seems not to matter, like it's a chunk of shite after the next. A bit like life, granted, but in no punctuation mode, all in a spur of iterations. With that silly music "choowa choowa" and the intro with messy cooking. Plus, there's a dead bunny, they kill a rooster and an opossum. There's lots of malice, in words, intentions; tha characters are forever one-upping each other in hatred, bile, sarcasm. Also Josh speaks like a moron, with an accent that is incomprehensible and affected. He's also foul looking, how could that guy even become an actor: looks like an imbecile and a midget, he slurs his speech like a backward daft. Hate it more than Girls!!!!
I want to have a please like me group where everyone can come and talk about the show all together and pretend it isn't over. I miss this show so much

they say series steal your time but Please Like Me actually adds up every damn half hour you watch of it to your life expectancy
