I had a stationary business way back in the late 90s and early 2000s. I did everything from obituaries, to church programs, to brochures. Much success to anyone starting this kind of business.

Did you wholesale any of your designs to retailers? I’m trying to find out where a good distributor is for greeting cards, postcards, art prints, and other things that you would sell to gift shops.

what I found out was to find a local print shop (not self serve) who can give you advice on paper selections and work with you for custom templates. You’re support local and it’s so much cheaper.

I only wish I had found it sooner - I've spent weeks researching questions you just answered in 15 minutes! :) I've just finished designing my first product line, and now feel more confident in some of my decisions about launching, while re-thinking others based on your tips. Much appreciated!

Your video is very helpful!!! I have, like others, been thinking about beginning a stationery business for a long time now. It really stuck with me to do that ever since I created, along with my sister in law's help sending pictures, my mother's funeral program book. We outsourced printing the books and the printer service we used said that I should charge for doing things like this because the program was beautiful according to him. With my many changes in my job situation (too many darn layoffs!!!), starting my own stationery business readily crept back into focus while I am looking for work. Thank you for this vdeo, it was a blessing. May God Bless You!!!

I have been thinking about starting my own stationery business for a while and was afraid to. Didn't know where or how to begin. But this video was very informative and encouraged me to take the leap, baby steps first but to at least start. At age 50 starting something new can become terrifying. Thank you for sharing and I will consider this to be my mentor.

I’m doing greeting cards, and I’m just curious if there is a wholesale Netwerk of distributors to sell to. I am on Faire, Creoate, , and a few other online distributors who distribute to Indy stores, but I’m also looking into getting into the old school net work, I don’t know if there is one distributor they want you to be exclusive, or if you work with sales reps.

I am glad that you are starting your business. My suggestion is to have a website for your business and promote your business in social media.I created my website using a free website builder mobile app. It doesn’t need any coding knowledge and it is free of cost. would you like to try that app?
      Thanks,

This was SO helpful! Thanks for sharing because you're absolutely right, people are not often willing to share all of this amazing info. First off, you and Olivia Hayward are my heroes. It’s my dream to start an online shop and I watch both of your videos all the time to get myself motivated.
If you have several creative outlets/hobbies, what would be a good way to pick which one would make the best content for an online shop? I’m assuming that putting everything together in just one shop would be too confusing and crazy for customers and starting multiple shops for different types of design work seems like it would be very difficult.
