- When Redcat released the Sixty Four RC Lowrider a much heard request was how can I make my car go side to side like the sample car you created for them?
I came up with an easy fix to make your RC Lowrider hit sides without losing any of the features or using an extra servo and channel.
Materials needed:
6.5mm wide and 0.8 to 1mm thick brass strip or Sixty Four 1st gen plastic steering linkage.
M2 size bolt
Handrill
Cutter

I just bought the 1979 Monte Carlo that I'm hoping redcat will come out with clear body soon so I can make a 1978 instead because that what I had in high school

Yes, that's correct! I've seen Redman as it's called in Japan several times and always wanted to do a replica.

Thanks! I tried to find 25micron black foil but couldn't find any so I had to mask the trim on the inside and paint black first followed by the red.

anybody have a better solution to the chrome vinyl foil provided in the body kits? they are too delicate and have trouble laying down and conforming the the shell. and easily damaged. im thinking of peeling them off and using something better. or i might just end up painting them
Unfortunately ABC Hobby is out of business they had the perfect chrome film/ foil.
@@jevries im hesitant to reorder another decal sheet from redcat. i didnt like how a couple side trim pieces layed down and they are very fragile to remove and adjust. because im sure the same thing would happen again. wouldve been nice if the whole sheet was foil backed, not just the die cut pieces, so i could make extras.
if i woulda known how crappy the decals were, i would have masked and painted the trim silver-chrome from the inside shell. ahh!
i also tried regular chrome vinyl sheet but it seems too thick .
I ordered some from kandy n chrome. we shall see how they work out
edit: kandy n chrome takes forever to ship. i did find a good vinyl wrap thats thinner and bendable. way nicer than the redcat trim.

Hey I’m haveing trouble with my low rider. It’s brand new. The servos fried. And my fully charged battery keeps draining in under 10 min. I tried trouble shooting it. Don’t know what else to do. Is there something on the remote about voltage use that I have to turn down?? Please help

Awesome simple trick indeed.. What I have been trying to do is get mine to hop like yours, Did you change the servos or did you add weight to the front and rear? Thanks Brotha Appreciate everything you do and share...
Thanks! The most important trick to make your car hop like mine is the drive shaft mod so that when you lock up the rear the driveshaft unlocks itself making the car sit in neutral. Without the resistance of the gear motor your car will hop much smoother. I also added a BEC set to 8.4V and the car is juiced with a 3S Lipo battery.

I stripped the chrome using toilet cleaner containing chloride and painted the rest of the trim black. I used Tamiya red paint for lexan.
