1988 Grand Wagoneer length/wheel base 186/108 inches. Current JKU 4door length/wheel base 185/116 inches. It's not that big compared the jks in this video
I had a 78 Cherokee chief back in the 90s. Was always told to “get a real Jeep” by the wrangler guys on the trail. It was amusing because I was in a bone stock chief and they had their wranglers heavily modded and there wasn’t anything they could do that I couldn’t. It was a very capable Jeep.
I'm working on my '78 Cherokee south of Seattle, love what you did! I'm going a little more mild, but those bumpers & roof rack would be welcome additions!
I have 3 of these and it is truly amazing how capable they are. In fact, my 87 blue like yours, I have to list for sale (moving to a condo) so if you got someone that's itchin' for one, this one is available (wish it wasn't).
The one it came out of the magazine few years ago. That come with 5.9l cummins engine? Spring over axel with stock leaf spring? With 37s tires with shaved some metal from the fenders and rear quarter panel?

Haha, well it's a huge event so it's all coordinated efforts. Not really the same feeling when you're in the mountains wheeling your 4wd's with friends! Way nicer :)
Why does just about everyone hang their head out the driver side totally ignoring whats in front them or even whats on the passenger side? Must give them a sense of security, a false one at that.
Fitst jeep broke down 500m in,rest couldn't get past,THEY'RE ALL STILL THERE😅😅,FOLLOW THE LEADER ONLY WORKS WITH TOYOTA'S 😅THEY DON'T BREAK DOWN ,,,,,,,,HAHAHAHAHAHAHÀAAA
We actually have not - after this run we decided to go a completely different route & it's currently in show truck condition with a TON of highly customized accents. We will be unveiling it via magazine publications for 2021! Stay tuned. It went from being beat up on the 'con to being completely restructured.

Amigos, how did you fit the bumper? Far as I know, arb doesn't make a waggy bumper. Maybe a modified fj60 land cruiser bumper? My best guess. Thanks

No ours was the original AMC360 & we were on 35" Nitto Ridge Grapplers

Actually stock springs but flipped as to be Spring-Over-Axle
That made a huge difference in clearance!

Actually it's stock springs! Spring over axle though, which is what allowed the tires to fit.

Did you ever post the full build list anywhere? I can't find it. Is it lifted, which kit? Which gear ratio?
