I am interested in all of these topics, and I am wondering if someone in college can get courses in all of them instead of specializing, so I could get a well rounded not necessarily specialized knowledge in them.
Majd Zayyad Yes in college you can take courses in all of them. Just keep in mind that jobs tend to be specialized, let's say the company you want to work for is looking for an RF engineer. Is the company going to hire someone who knows a little about everything or someone who only took the RF classes and thus has more "experience" in the field. Even though all these emphasis fall under the EE umbrella some are very different from others.
I didn’t have a clue what I was getting into I switch from CS to Computer E to EE all my first semester now I’m halfway done and will be a junior in the fall. Im not crazy about what I’m learning but I’m too far in to switch. Moral of the story... learn what you want to do before you put the time in
Being a senior in college and a computer engineer at my school, I really wish I had seen this video earlier - before I chose my major in college. I really had no idea what I was getting myself into, but this video pretty much sums it all up. Great video! Truly very informative and well made! I want to show this to all of the people who are considering EE as a major because they deserve to know what they're getting themselves into.
@@isaiahmason4649 For me personally, I think that CpE is not right for me. I think I am in the wrong major because I don't truly love it like I may enjoy others, but who knows. Engineering is just super difficult and it's really frustrating when you're not innately skilled at it and you don't truly love it. I like it, but I don't love it and that makes all the difference I think.

Hi there, sorry for this noob question, but I have to ask what would be the field for making the electronics of gaming consoles like the gameboy. I am assuming that it is electronic engineering as it would mostly consist of resistors and stuff like that, as you said would be the fundamentals. I am just curious and figured I would ask, well have a good day :)
I am currently going to Southern Maine Community College majoring in engineering. Once I graduate I will attend University of Southern Maine, which is one of two schools in the state that have electrical engineering programs. They offer a concentration in computer science also. My question to you is, what is more in demand between the two? I ask this because I am going to be 50 yrs old when I graduate. I know I am so much older and may have to deal with the realization that I may not be employable because of my age. I also know that many who graduate from the schools here leave Maine to explore opportunities for higher paying jobs. I on the other hand want to stay here. Any advice you can share will be so greatly appreciated.
Thumbed the video down for misinformation. I have my degree and I passed the FE exam in electrical engineering. What you do with your EE degree is move boxes in a warehouse. Stop spreading lies about engineering.

@@RelearnMath Oh okay, so I believe I might be interested in the semiconductor business. Tesla should start their own Electrical Engineering program, I'd totally join. Hi there, I am a senior in EE and my area of interest is renewable energy, power systems and analog circuitry design. However, as for now it seems that the only good position I can think of is the consulting or electrical designer. Should I agree on that or try to find something more suitable to my passion?
+Vitali Siumbeli if you know your passion then you should look for positions that match what you described, there are many many positions available related to your passion. For example if you are interested in power systems, there are a ton of positions, are you interested in cars? Well you can work for power system of a car, in planes? Well the same...in the power grid? Well there are also many positions...now that you know your interest look for where you want to apply those interests.
Unfortunately, “programming” is essential, especially if you’re interested in Computers. Now a days, Digital circuits are programmed. Take a look at languages like Verilog and VHDL, you are literally programming hardware. If you want to go more into embedded applications, you still have to program the processor. Even if you were to do testing, you would still need to program the instruments. Quite frankly, I don’t understand the fear in “programming”. You should see it like a tool that will facilitate your engineering job. Why would you try to build a table without a saw?
