Ricardo's challenge against Malthus hypothesis is also relevant at some point, but geometric growth of population against linear or non growth of resources is quite validation point... Good content 💯

What people should take away from this is that doom theories often fail to account for the creation of new knowledge. As Popper wisely pointed out, it’s impossible to predict the future creation of knowledge, which means these theories overlook the potential for innovation to reshape outcomes.

Malthus has been proven wrong but still used by oligarchs as a reason for their dystopian plans

Malthus was and is right, though. We are animals, and Malthus even inspired Darwin. The Unified Growth theory additionally proves that Malthus still has a point, not to mention the lower birth rates in developed countries...

Sure. Over half of the food in Africa is imported and the import index keeps getting worse. In 20 years they have doubled in numbers. More over a lot of their endemic food production relies on imported fertilizers. Massive tracedy is ahead.

@@NightsideOfParadisethey rely on food imports because of chronic political instability. Africa if properly farmed could feed the world many many times over.

Malthus and Ricardo may both be correct -- the difference being time

Also scale. Malthus' predictions have come to pass in many countries of low economic wealth which usually have higher populations as proven by the
      Demographic transition model

@@DelayEdits poor economic wealthy in country is proven not by its high population, yet by its governning power systems. As Fukuyama states, the people in power should be selected based on their capacity not social relationship as it is common within the poor countries. Rational intellictual leaders would encouage growth which lead to better wealth and living conditons among the population.
