One of Loreena McKennitt’s classic songs is “The Mummer’s Dance,” which is, indeed, very danceable. On that same album (The Book of Secrets) she turned the poem “The Highwayman” into a song. The last song on that album is called “Dante’s Prayer,” which soothes me in troubled times. Really that whole album is stellar, but she has so many amazing songs. Bless you during this Advent season and beyond.

Paul you once asked how to pronounce the last name of Andre Rieu. I said back then that it is difficult to explain because that sound is not made in the English language as far as I know. A lot of English speaking people stumble over Andre Rieu's last name. By the way Rieu can come from the word Dieu which means God in French. It must be asked often how to pronounce Rieu because someone literally made a TH-cam video how to pronounce it. There are actually 2 ways how to pronounce Rieu both are in the video. It is only a 35 second video. This is the link to the video m.th-cam.com/video/8Wgz63dyQPg/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUcSG93IHRvIHByb3Vub3VuY2UgYW5kcmUgcmlldQ%3D%3D

In 1989, a famous British singer called Jimmy Somerville, did a cover of the French song (which was already an adaptation of an American song) "Comment te dire adieu". Although sung in French, this song ranked 14th in the British charts for the simple reason that many words contain the sound "ex" and the British like this sound🙂. But this song also contains a lot of the "eu" sound very well pronounced by the singer. Listening to this song could be a good way to learn pronunciation😊.
A little free information, “Rieu”, as well as “Riou”, means “River” in old French😉.
