The Ceres 500 is great! But for some people it might be a little too big, The Ceres 300 range allows EATX or ATX motherboards to be installed with ease and doesn't require as much physical space.
It comes pre installed with 3 140mm CT140 fans, the front 2 are CT140 ARGB and the rear is a CT140 non ARGB. Over half of this case is used for airflow, and there are a lot of filters installed to pretty dust entering but still allowing plenty of fresh air to keep the most powerful builds cool.
The optional Thermaltake LCD panel kit gives a little more flair and also can report important system readings to allow easy monitoring of temps and usage. Or just show a GIF of a cat! Your case your way!
IF you were considering the Thermaltake Ceres 500 but the price and size are a bit much for you build or wallet, the Ceres 300 will take up less room and cost almost half the price.
I really like it and hope you will too.

I really like this case. I see the Mandalorian bobble head looks right at home in that case. Thanks for the great review. Take care everyone. Cheers
It does! nice one rick
Mike's Review & How to is Worthy of a Support comment. Like & a share 🙂
Hi Mike, partly due to your video review, I bought this case. Overall, a good case, I finished about a month ago. Only issue I had was the backplate wouldn't fit my 3.5" 4TB HD, so had to get a drive caddy to put it in the basement. In the top, I put in a TT AIO 280 which fit quite well and matched the other CT140s on the front. Thanks again!
awesome! glad to hear it, how is the 280 aio? good temps?
@@mikesunboxingYes, fans hardly ever ramp up!
hey @roeboat would love to hear more about your drive caddy solution! any tips?
Nice. I have one in the mail already, and TH-cam decided I needed to watch reviews of the case. I went with the matcha green.
Hope you like it! did you get the extra matcha green accessories?
@@mikesunboxing Nah. I'll just be transferring my existing build into it, and may use the stock fans that come with the case. The screen addon is interesting, but a bit expensive to justify.
It’s a very beautiful case and I’ve already ordered one in green) Thanks for the detailed review!
Is it possible to install a 140mm fan on the bottom wall under the video card?
120 will go there or a 140 in the basement behind the lcd panel
I like this case - shame about the expensive LCD gizmo - great review as always - thanks ❤
Totally agree, if the LCD was a lot cheaper it is a winner for sure
Very quality case! Really like it. However…Thermaltake…. Please offer an alternative same chassis design with a different from panel. Just give me a flat minimal mesh and I’m sold. That snow plough wedge looks like an old train 🚂 😅
i am getting used to the snow plough, kath was asking for help with the links ansd she said it is this one with the snow plough, i chuckled
Great video thanks Mike
not a bad case, maybe the ITX version might appeal more for you
Great video!!! It was a big help. I was looking for a white case that was easy to build in and not too expensive. After watching your video I went head and ordered the case and a Thermalright Frozen Magic 280 V2 AIO in white to go with this nice looking case. Can't wait to build my new pc
that sounds like a great combination
Im waiting on moving into a new place then this thing is getting bought in an instant
maybe look at the 330 as well
Mine arrived today. It's lovely. A lot of thought has gone into its design. I might even get the led display for it when I'm not skint! Don't judge me! Thanks for the review. :-)
I totally understand the panel is a really nice addition just a bit expensive
Its fine now?
The case is great, no complaints at all but I went for a larger/ cheaper 3rd party screen for it in the end.
@@poopscoop2000 Thank you, but what about the fans? I've read reviews that make noise even at medium speeds. They write that there are problems with the fan bearing, I don't know, maybe these people got a defective? But I also watched the reviews and there are up to 50% of fans noiselessly, and then obvious noise
@@Qwerty-so3dbCan't say as I notice them to be honest. I have a 280 rad and a 4090 in it too and it's pretty quiet but obviously gets louder when working hard. Basically, I have no complaints.
Why do so many cases now come with only 2 USB front panel slots? This is one of the dealbreakers for me, with all of these cases. I need 4xUSB A like it has been ever since I can remember. Why is this happening?
it is quite a niche thing for that many ports, unless it is a combo of 2 usb2 and 2 usb 3 but as Type A is getting the elbow type C will be the mainstream one soon
@@mikesunboxing Why do you think it's niche? It's the opposite, I have never met anyone who said they wanted less USBs on the front. Everyone uses the front ones. Also if it's so niche, why did all manufacturers used to put more on the front in the past? And this doesn't explain how there are no cases with multiple USB C slots on the front, to replace them. There much be some reason why these numbers have been going down. Do you have any idea why?
@@MrJustCallMeJames people usually use the Io on the back of the mobo and the front Io and it's enough usb's
@@ponchocactus973 Well not for anyone I know. There is no reason to have less front IO. Do the people using the back, have their computers facing backwards for access?
It looks like its made by the factory as per Lian Li newer cases, Its a nice case for it size depends on your GPU size , but nice. On the front I dont like the grey around the Thermaltake logo silver or white would have been better. I have the Lian Li 216 but I will admit the new Montech King 95 looks fantastic for design and value but delayed on release which is a shame.
the lianli 216 is a cracking case as well
Thanks for the review
I’m considering this case and want to use the TT Vertical GPU mount kit they sell, they offer a 200mm, and a 300 mm. Unsure which length I need. I’m using a Matx board and Radeon 6750XT FE
Any thoughts which would work best ?
Cheers from California !
200mm should do it i think, 300mm is more for the EATX cases
heeey!!
howdy partner
👍🏻
thank you very much
Very pretty.
It fits two hdds in the bottom, but do you reckon I can nail some to the wall someplace else?
yeah there is a lot of roomin there you should be able to do something
Can it fit a rog strix 4090
if you are using a fan radiator no, the strix is 357mm and the ceres 300 will do 370mm
someone needs to send a memo to pcpartpicker for blatantly saying 360 and ceres 300 r not compatible...they also said palit 4090 and the tower 200 aint compatible when someone literally made a build on that case with the gpu...
Pc part picker is a good tool but pretty much lacking precision
verry nise indead
it is pretty cool, lots of flexibilty
Good review man, nice to see this little fella after the 500! Just watched it on-the-go and thought i would login and comment! cases are one of the few pc parts still intresting.A CTE 300 might be more up my street though,if such a version of that case is released! Nice one, again
I was interested in CTE but I think the rotation hurts temps according to early tests.
Legend!
i am not convinced that CTE is the way to go, but it is good that TT are going all in to see if it is
Sweet Tech Jesus.....can you get to 100k subs already. The suspense is killing me ! lol
i know, tell me about it. been a long time but hopefully the silver button will be awesome
@@mikesunboxingjust realised I’m not subscribed and promptly made my contribution 🫡
Love this case and was about to order it. eBay is a little misleading and states it has an lcd screen in the 89.99 price point. I am glad I watched this and learned that isn’t true. Good review. I am gonna go with the 270 view which I also watched you review.
hope you enjoy your build experience
@@mikesunboxing thanks man. Do you know of any huge differences between the 300 here and the 330 argb besides a size difference?
The front is a deal breaker.
They way you have to yank it in order to access the filer is terrible. Imagine doing that every time you have to clean it. Also it has a hole at the bottom behind the gray part which allows unfiltered air to enter. Why would they do this? It's simple. They assume that the customer is stupid and won't notice.
Terrible design and a deal breaker for sure. 👎👎👎
the ceres 500 would be the better option for you i think
This case looks really good. yep.. I like it.
seems to be getting a mostly positive response so far
Great review Mike.
thank you very much
at 4:53 you can see plastic pieces on front panel that attaches to the case are weak.
Probably after 4-5 dust cleaning those will break.
Didnt expect your review so soon after discord images. Agree contrast colours odd but then what are colours on mounting brkts of gpu , capture card? For me £100 inc 3 decent fans is good £ per quality case! Still unsure if vert mount good idea or jus for show! Air cooling for me lol Thanks Mike & Kath (&TT) for reviewing 🐈👍
glad you like it, i am still very torn between the two, i might stick with the larger ceres 500 for the 360 top mount ability, we'll see
@@mikesunboxing Makes sense so you can test all products.
As for the Radiator placement, top is best and with my 7700X, the 240mm rad is perfect up top!
Are you able to say when the CTE C700 review will be up?
It is already available with next day delivery but I can't find any reviews whatsoever!
i have the 750 and 500 only, for review, not heard anything about the 700 sorry
@@mikesunboxing Ah I must have mis-read/mis-heard. I swear you said you'd received the CTE C700 in the last unboxing livestream. GN said they were going to review it, so hopefully they come through.
Can someone clarify how I can remove the front panel to reach the filter?, I’m having trouble with my case right now
there is a grab handle on the bottom, just tug
I have one and I like to have seen it shorter, there's a lot of wasted space if you haven't got a very long GPU.
true, but they have to consider the needs of a market where gpus are getting to be silly sizes
Is it good for gaming like fortnite Roblox GTA call of dut how good is it
yes it is great for all those
Your affiliate links go to the 500.....
sorry kath working on that now, it is the global link that messes things up, think at the moment it is a lot cheaper at scan
seems to be working now for Amazon UK if that is where you are heading
I really enjoy all the honest reviews and details you show but I have a tiny pet peeve/issue: Im a headphone user and your mic... picks up every bit of spit movement in your mouth. Its audible. You can basically hear the spit parting when you open your mouth to speak. Not sure if its clear what I mean but its .. a horrible sound. That wet clicking noise.
sorry will try and filter it
Mike, how do you clean the filter which is on the bottom front where they have that protrusion on the bottom?
i'm not too sure what you mean there, it pulls out i think from memory
@mikesunboxing I mean inside that V shape, I think it is perforated. Seems hard to get there. Same for ceres 500. It is not part of the front filter.
Join the live stream tonight and I’ll try and find it and answer the question
is there enough space for the gpu to be vertical with an air cooler in this case?
depends on the motherboard really, if the top slot is m.2 it should be fine
The stupid decision to add the movable I/O instead of keeping it where the 500 has it, both eliminated the ability to mount a 360 aio in the top and a 420 aio in the front. A case this small with the ability to put a 420 aio in, is the kind of thing the market needs. Not a movable I/O.
i agree, the lack of 360 aio support in the top is a real shame here
Hey Mike you got to take into account that scan computers may have added there bit for themselves with the PC display being a bit expensive
Possible but seems the normal price elsewhere also ?
Do you think it'll be good for a beginner's first case?
most definitely, the hardest part is the fan wiring, but now it seems it is done in the factory already
Nice video
Thanks
Nice looking case.Thank you for the review Mike 👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My pleasure!
Hi, thx for the extensive review. Which one do you think is better between this and MSI Gungnir 110R White?
not sure, really the airflow looks to be better here, but the msi being larger might hold larger rads? not seen the msi in person so hard to say. looks closer to the ceres 500 to me
@@mikesunboxing thank you, i'm going to use an air cooler, so that's no issue for me. I think I'm gonna get this one, seems perfect. Does the build quality hold up well?
@@reyin2348 yeah seems fine, nice and easy to work in, not quite as heavy duty as the ceres 500 but still has that same vibe to it
@@mikesunboxing great to hear! Ordered it, can't wait to build my first pc in it
Let us know how it goes @@reyin2348
Boring. Monotone
lol, thanks for watching anyway, have a great day
The case ?
So... A cancelled my order late last night for the Ionz KZ-Z after seeing your review of the ceres 300/500! I like the compactness of the 300 but it MUST be capable of fitting a 280 rad at the top. It'll physically fit in the case of course but do you think it will foul the VRM/ RAM of the mobo...or are the rad/ 2x 140 fans offset enough to create enough room for them?
Thanks for the info!
pretty sure a 280 goes in the top easily
Thanks for reply. I'll order one and do some measuring!
