I've only had bixby like a week, but typcially it will catch on to basics, but you have to "explain" the commands a bit better. Example: Open camera and set a timer for 10 seconds. Saying "Maps" will open google maps, and even if I don't open maps first I can say "directions to xxxxx" and it works. Google voice is certainly better for texting correctly. Bixby will write the word "period" vs ending a sentence with one.
@ 4:30 I still have not found a work around for that. When I say restaurants near me it opens yelp and then reads reviews from random 3 star places not near me LOL!
Nice Review and Video, nice and clear. Constructive critisum: Your sound levels between your intro music and the main video are a quite diffrent in volumes. might be worth having a look at the levels for a more smother transition.
The main difference between Google assistant and Bixby is that Google assistant is a more web based assistent where bixby is more centered around settings and internal changes. Bisby can change settings on your phone. So they are made for different purposes in mind (Comment copied from other video..)
for bixby users: maybe if you want to navigate somewhere, say where you want to be navigated and then say what navigation app (for ex. google maps, considering everyone uses it im pretty sure)
Your Bixby sounds different, also try Bixby again, I'm not sure why yours is having a hard time. Mine is perfect and understands everything I'm saying.
If anyone at Google is reading this, I have a few suggestions. I come from Samsung, I'm happy with my Pixel , I want to go further with it, but there are some positive aspects of Samsung that Pixel can adopt. 1. When you make a call on Samsung, you can hear a sound in the headset when you answer and when you hang up and/or a vibration. I know that on the Pixel you can hear the sound, but it is related to notifications and the ring. 2. Ring and notifications have the same volume, I would prefer them to be separate. 3. On the Samsung, I had a notification in the sms that told me when the message was delivered to the recipient, in which case the phone was closed or had no signal, I knew exactly when he received my message. 4. And the "dual" option was also nice, I could have two Facebook, WhatsApp accounts... On the hardware side, some improvements could be made: 1. Fingerprint sensor. 2. weak GSM reception, 3. Bluetooth audio not very good, 4. Tensor heats up and won't let me film sometimes. 5. ultrawide sensor wider and with macro. What do you think?
I also tried the test on the same phone between Google Assistant and Bixby and both did a good job of completing the commands. Perhaps there is a difference between the phones.

Ones : what is your name / history? Google assistant: let me show you the whole my life identity. Ones: what is your name /history? Bixby: what you mean? ( I don't understand) .
Do you realise how machine learning works? The only way for bixby to get better is for more people to use it. It's funny you called it stupid because it's equivalent to you calling a baby who had been locked in a basement without interaction other than for a comparison to the intelligence of another baby. Good video but I wish you mentioned these important issues. How many hours of usage of each have you used? It's not 'smarter' in fact we do not understand how machine learning works. We just feed it data. So the less people that use Bixby, the less effective it will become. Ironically all the issues you have encountered with Bixby I encountered with Google assistant, I first encountered with Bixby. There was obvious bias within this video. I'll show you how Bixby can work just as well. Admittedly I didn't watch the full video, but even if you do give this disclaimer at the end, it is irrelevant. It's a long video and most would watch for a couple of minutes before making up their mind. But TH-cam is owned by Google and a man does have to make a buck after all hey; we all know how the TH-cam algorithm works and which company owns it 🧏 Thanks to the 'sort comments by relevance feature' which they refer to as 'Top Comments' becoming the default instead of 'newest first' like a normal blog or forum, this will never be read, come on Google algorithm, prove me wrong!!!
Please try - "Open google map and take me to work" -- it works! Same way other commands will work - if you say "open google map and..." before whatever you say. Not only that- you can do the same for other apps like- "Open play store and download combat S". (We should expect these things: Google Maps and Play Store are native apps to google, so they would be directly understood by google assistant, you cannot expect the same from bixby, which is Samsung app, well as expected it understands Samsung's native apps -like Reminder). Well where Bixby did surprise me: it did understand "Navigate to Work" (or any other place after "Navigate to")
Thanks for the tip and u made me think about the camera command it actually do that even with the native Samsung apps for the camera to turn on the timer i had to say "take a photo and set the timer to 3 seconds" but when i say "take a photo in 3 seconds" its doesn't work.
@@IDTR Yes. It cannot interpret multiple commands in one line, except for some common one. It needs multiple commands to separated by "and." Bixby needs improvements there. Thank you.
The only difference I see is growing a dependency on one of these systems. If you like to swap phone manufacturers then Google would be best. If you ALWAYS and ONLY buy Samsung phones then Bixby would suit you best.
Both of them have dedicated features that make the difference and that you haven't expose. It's not a actually big deal, but without them this test is definitely not complete and I think that no conclusion could by made.

Bixby needs a lot of work. And I hate that it's the only option I have on my G-Watch. And yes I did setup a hack that allowed G-Assist to work on my Galaxy Watch, but it's function is so limited that it's a waste of storage. Samsung needs to either make Bixby a full functioning AI to at least the status of Siri. Or just step aside and let the master of AI G-Assist take over.
I have the galaxy S10+ , I only use googel as my assistant because ofcourse it is smarter and more better and only use Bixby for like Bixby home or Bixby vision.

Bixby claimed there is APPROXIMATELY 2.54cm in an inch. That's not true, there is EXACTLY 2.54cm in an inch
It does work on the samsung for take me to work I tested it out on my phone
But TH-cam is owned by Google and a man does have to make a buck after all hey; we all know how the TH-cam algorithm works and which company owns it 🧏
Thanks to the 'sort comments by relevance feature' which they refer to as 'Top Comments' becoming the default instead of 'newest first' like a normal blog or forum, this will never be read, come on Google algorithm, prove me wrong!!!
Thank you.
I don't get Bixby on your device because on my s8 it can do a lot of the commands it couldn't on the s10
I'm also surprised at his Bixby
The only difference I see is growing a dependency on one of these systems. If you like to swap phone manufacturers then Google would be best. If you ALWAYS and ONLY buy Samsung phones then Bixby would suit you best.
احترافي ياعمده 😂💙
Both of them have dedicated features that make the difference and that you haven't expose. It's not a actually big deal, but without them this test is definitely not complete and I think that no conclusion could by made.
I compared both based on the normal user so i did ask all iPhone users that i know and also Android users before making up my mind and choosing the things to compare
4:10 Samsung: I didn't understand that! 🤣
That's why I disabled the Bixby button on my Galaxy S9+ from the beginning. Now the Bixby button just stands there for no use! I wish it to disappear from my phone!
Yes i hope they replace it with software keys either Bixby or Siri
You can install Google app (for Google assistant) and bxaction (remap bixby button to launch Google assistant). Been using S10 like this since day one😂
@@HeLithium I'll try. Actually I didn't know about this process. 👍
Then you are missing out on features Bixby can do that the assistant can't. Samsung was wise to combine the two.
@@_shaka_ May be.
just saying hi bixby it will be activated, when i have to press for google assistance to activate
I would like to meet google assistant in real life. Go on a date with her. Have some fun. I love her voice. It's so smoothing. Pls don't think I'm creepy
Hahah please let me know when you meet her
finally remapped the bixby button to google assistant and holy creps the button is useful now
Yes Bixby from my experience was hard to deal with
Bixby needs a lot of work. Or just step aside and let the master of AI G-Assist take over.
my man doxxed himself
Very interesting video. Thanks!
You're most welcome
@@IDTR aha
I have the galaxy S10+ , I only use googel as my assistant because ofcourse it is smarter and more better and only use Bixby for like Bixby home or Bixby vision.
I only use bixby in my house because it will interfere with my google home
I also use bixby on my watch for texting so i dont have to use a stupidly small keyboard
I use only use Bixby on my phone because i have google home and sometimes gets annoying when both google assistants go off
Did this dude just leak his addres
In german, all location commands worked. But i can test it only today now
And now we now who is TH-cam home 🤫🙃
What about changing the phone settings? G assistant cannot do that apart from volume and brightness and it's really annoying
What type of settings you are talking about
