A few years back, I was looking to buy land in Karnataka. Then got to know the real experience from people on how local villagers with the help of politicians threatened and forcefully grabbed their land, and now they have been fighting in court for the last 10 years. It was common for thieves in the village to come and night and cut the trees if the owner was not at the land for few days. Better avoid buying land in Karnataka to have peace of mind. Corruption and fraud have become socially acceptable norms in Karnataka, the sad transformation of the once prosperous state. Greed has corrupted the people and politics, and the situation in the state is going beyond repair.
