85 kph is like 52 mph and that is like driving back roads and side streets in the US. I am a back road driver when possible and this may have been the most convincing reason for me to buy a Lightning. Thanks for the video.

You’re right! Truck buyers have been very gradually conditioned to believe higher and higher prices just are what they are. The only good news is that the full size truck/SUV bubble is starting to pop due to interest rates and potential recession worries.
The other positive is that inventory is stacking up and I’ve heard of people negotiating as much as $20K off sticker. That’s still $63,540 if you’re starting from $83,540. I think we have another $20K to go before we see the bottom of the truck market.

@EGGINFOOLS If people would review these and other EV'S that have a J1772 charging plug they would have realized our infrastructure isn't ready for these vehicles. I must have watched over 100 videos on the lightning prior to purchasing mine, realized they are great for local use, tow all my trailers my ICE F150's towed. Hauls just as much all this at a fraction of the cost. And now cost are even less since I started charging my lightning from my home solar system. Love this truck . I'm 75 and have alway owned F150's, this is the best I've ever owned.

Fantastic video, as someone looking jnto the 2024 Flash trim, this is exactly the kind of info im looking for. And thanks for Cdn units!!! I always have to convert US units to kwh/100km!!!
We tow our tent trailer with our ID4 ev right now (trailer has a vertical bike rack at the back with 3 mtn bikes so it's actually terrible aerodynamically), and we can do about 200kms between charge stops with that setup in BC.
I always knew the aero factor was a much bigger impact than weight, and this proved it.

"We never see 1/2 trucks with that payload" That because you never reviewed the F-150 with Heavy Payload package (HDPP). My 2022 F-150 FX4 with HDPP has a door sticker just under 2800lbs. In 2024, Ford dropped HDPP to force people to buy superduty line. HDPP started in the late 90s so was available for 25+ years.
I had a Lightning reservation, but only wanted a Pro (but with extended battery) at the attractive price. Once that was determined to be a unicorn, went with gas(5.0l) V8. Pro with ex battery was fleet buyer only configuration. Ford shot themselves in the foot with jacking around price and pissing people off.

We choose the XLT with the standard range battery. $10,000 for 90 KM more of range and loosing the $5,000 rebate is not worth it. Drive range for 98% of our use is well worth the savings. We don’t charge once a week at home so it is important to know what you are doing with the vehicle. I have a MachE for 8 months so I knew what our patterns are and what we needed. Best to not make a 100% decision on a 2% event.

My 2021 F150 CCSB STX 5.0 4wd has a 7,050 GVWR and an 1,881 payload (without any special package) which means it weighs 5,169 pounds. These electric trucks are heavy and weigh as much as a 3/4 ton, while they run on standard P rated tires for efficiency. Their weight is something to keep in mind for tires, off-roading and towing as far as GCWR.

I'm so glad I was able to get my lightning PRO. $50,000. I WANT the basic interior-vinyl seats, rubber floor, manual buttons. I have two boys and things get messy so this is way easier to keep clean...ish. This was my first summer with it and did 8 trips from the local nursery with a yard of stone in the bed (over a ton) and a few trips carrying large walnut slabs I milled and I still have some big projects coming up this fall. The truck has performed wonderfully so far. The most towing I would ever do might be a mini excavator from a local rental place, so I don't care about the range. It's never been an issue.

Save $400 per month or more in fuel if you charge at home or drive a lot.
No more oil and filter changes or transmission fluid changes.
No axle fluid or transfer case maintenance.
Coolant will last hundreds of thousands of miles.
Brake pads and rotors will last the life of the vehicle if using regenerative braking.
No catalytic converter to get stolen.
      No mufflers or exhaust system.
No spark plugs, no plug packs, no fuel injection or hundreds of other parts to break or replace.
      Battery could last 500,000 miles.
Electric motors could last a million miles.
One EV company gives an 8 year, 150,000 mile warranty on the battery and motors. No ICE company offers that.
      ICE vehicles aren't cheaper.
That's why so many people are poor. No critical thinking skills.

There were some Pro models with the big battery built for fleets. Sometimes you can find one that didn't get bought. With old model year discounts and rebates I've heard of people getting close to that $40k mark - but it's rare. I got my XLT for $60k and it's been awesome. I tow a trailer every day doing lawn care and I never run out of battery. If you tow long distance and high speed I'd stick with gas

Even though the 2 double 120 volt recepticals in the bed of the truck are listed as 20 amp recepticals each of the two separate recepticals are connected to one leg of the 240 volt inverter that supplies power to the trucks bed recepticals. So, in fact, you have the entire 7200 watts available to you via those 4 120 volt recepticals. I've proven this by a voltage measurement from the hot terminal on one duplex to the hot terminal of the other duplex and measured 240 volts. Also the frunk 120 volt receptical won't run my 5 ton log splitter where the bed receptical hasn't any problem running it. Indicating there's more available power at the bed recepticals than at the frunk recepticals. Another fact is there's a total available power when using the 4 frunk recepticals along with the 2 cabin recepticals of 2400 watts with very little if any surge capability. Where the bed recepticals may have as much as a 3600-watt surge capability.

Some folks trying to argue it's not a real truck, but it is, and in fact is superior to gas in some ways (like having a usable front trunk, and plentiful power outlets). Only shortfalls are the elevated cost (though the new gas models on lots are quite high in price too) and short range when towing long distance (not good for that use case), but towing stuff around town works just fine. And also that it's only offered in SuperCrew format. But otherwise, it's an F-150 that just happens to be electric. Great truck. I've already used mine to haul various loads and tow a 12 ft trailer in town.
