The best style trend to come out of the pandemic is the mid-heeled (under 3 inches, 3 and up are “high” heels). I never could wear 3-inch or higher heels, nor pointed-toes - I literally can’t get them on my wide-toed feet. I love a block mid-heel, as in Sezane’s Paula Babies, my favorite shoe of the last two years. Practical, comfortable footwear is a must for me, but until recently, there wasn’t much available between flats and high-heels. I love getting an extra 2 to 2.5 inches with mid-heels, I’m not tall and I lost two inches of height already, at age 63, from spine trouble, mostly. I couldn’t believe I, formerly 5’6”, was only 5’4” now, when a smart nurse took my measurement, not sure of my 5’6” claim, she has a good, experienced, eye (here in the US, adult height was and is rarely measured). I had been having to shorten trousers, but hadn’t really thought through why that was. Of course, I had to lose weight, too, to achieve a healthy new BMI, my previous “ideal” weight calculation was based on an erroneous height. I just feel so much more attractive in my mid-heels than in flats or sneakers (I might just be too old to adjust to wearing sneakers with my skirts and dresses, it’s popular, but I don’t like it on shorty me). I might try some more slender, mid-heels now that they are trending, but I know they won’t be as comfy and stable as block heels.
Great prediction, most of them are fashionable looks everyday working women can actually incorporate into their life regardless of the price tag. Blessed 2024 everyone.

I love a classic, small and square-edged shoulder pad, especially in blazers, but I don’t like the extreme ones at all. A classic one helps balance, and sharpen up, the figure. I don’t know why designers can’t just run with a classic-fit, this happened in the 80s, too. Shoulder pads in the first part of the decade were great, but then they were just exaggerated beyond any attractiveness whatsoever, and the big, rounded ones that came in were really awful. One couldn’t find a top, sweater, jacket or dress without them, so we often ended up with them in top, blazer and overcoat, looking like linebackers. We routinely tried to remove them, but then usually the shoulder area just wouldn’t look right, the garment shoulders were cut too large, to accommodate those enormous pads. I really hate the oversized trend, too, and didn’t buy a single garment in that. Deliberately, I mean, many garments I bought online were absolutely enormous. Why don’t brands just say in the description that they are oversized? They apparently show a size XS on a 6-foot model, the garments don’t fit like that on most of us (I’m exactly the average US women’s height, 5’4”/164 cm). Plus, I always take my current measurements and use the item’s size chart, so they should have a reasonable fit, but don’t. (BTW, it’s awful, the average US women’s dress size is now 16US/20UK! But, be careful British ladies, you are catching up to our overweight/obese citizenry).

Hey love…I like a statement earring but with a understated design. Cos , mango and Zara do great ones. Yes, you can totally rock a silky scrunchie at anytime hun x
