This video was really well done. I especially appreciate the subtitles explaining what was going on. And of course, much respect to the men who risk their lives to help others.
I’m not a firefighter to know what’s right and wrong necessarily but I do hope your videos are being shown around the country in training. I’ve become an addict watching them and have learned a ton about fire and how you guys work fires by watching. Thanks for the great work and I dare say entertainment for us non firefighters.
I have to say, these Stockton videos are the best out there, including how most vids show a beforehand view of the structures that are on fire which I really like. Not to mention that they are always on point and professional with the job they do. Much thanks and praise for all you guys!!
I really like the communication and radio discipline with these guys. They rarely talk over each other (unless it's edited out). Everyone knows what's going on around them. I love teams that are that switched on. They're just very few and far between.
Man, you post some great videos. I love the audio over the video. It's a great learning tool for how Incident command should be run. Very calm and collected. Suppression is fast yet safe. Definitely a learning tool for firefighter looking to learn more or advance to officer roles.
"Out of adversity, comes the call to greatness" is their mantra. The Stockton fire service videos should be shown to all firefighters and citizens, alike.
I live in Pennsylvania, far from Stockton, California. Thank you for the well done video of the Stockton FD. This community is blessed with such dedicated and well skilled first responders. Praying you all stay safe.
When I saw the statistics of the firehouses per population, I came on the comments just to see if Stockton was in a Democrat State. Guess what. It is. In Stockton the population per firehouse is 25,000. In my RED CONSERVATIVE State town it's 4,250 per firehouse. It's unreal how that city has ignored the firefighters. They need 10 times what they have.
@@Bryan-Hensley Thanks for sharing those staggering statistics. As I have looked at our local fire companies in PA, we have a great shortage of first responders of any kind. Our fire companies are mostly volunteer. The ones that are paid are not, in my opinion, paid near enough for what they do for society. One day we are going to need someone to come to our rescue and there won't be anybody that will arrive. We all can't be firefighters, etc. but we can support them with our presence and our substance.
@@Bryan-Hensley I won't lie. I get pretty sick and tired of people shoving politics into every single thing. Considering how well Stockton does their job, someone must be doing something right.
you're the first channel i've found that show US fire crews that are organised, calm and in control. until now all videos i've seen make it seem like fire departments in the US don't actually know what they are doing. much respect to the Stockton departments
Great job to all. Very well organized. Great that you all saved heirlooms and valuable documents for this family. Most importantly, everyone is safe . Thank you all (that help us,) . This shout out goes world wide. Love you all. Atlanta Ga. USA
On a Fire like this we would pull in Germany about 120 Firefighters from not then less as 6 Stations around. (Voulenteer Firefighters). A Town like Stockton in Germany would have for sure paied Firefighters in serveral Stations. But much more than 12 for sure. For Example Augburg,Bavaria about 300000 People live there the have2 Paied Firestations 24 h/365 on Duty. But they have also 8 Voulenteer Firestations and if that is not enough the Augburg County outside of theTown ,where also serveral smaller Firestations are can aid. The Augburg County have 250000 People living there and 132 (!!) Firestations. Means many smaller Villages arount the big Town have at least a Firetuck , hose who are near Highways more. A Firestation in Germany have in small Village often about 35 to 50, bigger Stations up over 150 active Members, who get called out by Pager ,sms and Sirens. If needed the County Alarming System can call as much Firefighters you needed. There are also Groups for Watersupply, Forrest fire , Fire Fighting ,Water rescue, with only 1 Verhicle from each Station ,the make sure that the Fire Protection at Home is still guareteered.
I think you guys did a great job overall but I saw at least one person directly involved with fire attack in an SCBA, but no hood in place. Very dangerous being in the rollover conditions and a wind driven fire.
Stockton seems to be on the ball, with their firefighting. They're very organized and each person knows their roll. Bravo! btw. I have nothing to do with firefighting; but I like what I saw and how it was handled. Excellent communication.
These guys are good ! A structure fire a day in Stockton makes them the most active Firefighters in North America. Their experience and professionalism show. Best FD bar none !! God Bless and stay safe.
Another outstanding example of a well co-ordinated, appropriately resourced response that contained a major threat to adjoining properties - well done Stockton, you’re a fantastic example of professional fire-fighting 👌👏👏👏👏👏👍
I'm a 15 yr old boy from the uk and I want to be a firefighter I changed my mind from a mechanic to wanting to be a firefighter and hopefully I do well in school although I'm not the smartest kid and I hope I get a job being a firefighter
Good for you ! LEARN to stay calm when all others are afraid. Help others...it feels good ! Work out and be strong in mind and body. Learn team effort. Think.
I just look this house up on Google earth and it looks like It is rebuilt. I’m glad everyone was OK and that most of their possessions were saved. Good job heroes
I am so sorry! This was a dangerous fire for all. But I couldn't help but laugh over the pond. And the comment about even after being warned some firefighters found it anyway. Then the sound of splashing! Oh dear!
Wow I didn't know I was scared of the dark of the first part but it was so much better to wash out the fire than call the firefighter if the fire is large
Speed of the fire spread, wind spreading embers that could spark additional fires in surrounding houses, size of the house, need for other water sources, rest and rehab of the 1st alarm crews. Those are some of the reasons.
Its cookn , great job SFD, looks like murphys law showed up before sfd did . Nothing you could do but fight to keep it off the exposures stay safe brothers👍
Least the pond dip would cool down the firefighters 🚒 that fell in lol. You are all worldwide 🌐 💜 👏 superheroes heroes including dispatchers and behind scenes team members 👏 also all other emergency services you are all amazing 👏 instead of some people shouting defund these special people they should be demanding alot more funds . Stay safe all love from the UK 🇬🇧 x
I like the way their playbook works, the battalion commander is calling what he needs, the next engine in is listening to the radio and grabs the job while informing battalion. That gets stuff done FAST, I think that is the ONLY WAY they caught this fire. I think Stockton sets the standard on the west coast, busy, experienced and not going to have whole companies standing around when there is something to be down - aside from the RIT-
Only four engines to protect a city of 300,000 while this fire was in progress? That's absurd; only one fire away from a calamity. How does the state of California allow this situation to continue? (Granted, it was five years ago, and it may have improved since.). Surely the state legislators can see this is a dangerous situation.
some of thnr departments around the country need to watch these guys they are real pros i look at alot of videos they are some of if not the best I've seen
from the SFD website: "One Chief Operator is also on duty to assist the Battalion Chiefs with staffing levels and emergency scene accountability and safety." I don't know about Stockton, but in departments around here (PHX, AZ) battalions are staffed with a chief and a captain who drives the chief's vehicle. This person is often referred to as a Battalion Safety Officer (BSO). On a fire ground the captain/driver's job is to be the chief's extra eyes and ears so that he or she can give full attention to the incident. It looks from the videos like SFD does not have that two-person staffing model, so the "operator" responds as a separate unit to assist whichever chief(s) are on scene as that second person. That is my somewhat educated guess.
I disconnected my fire alarm and gas alarm in my trailer and the fire marshal cannot do anything about it. They will not be able to give me a ticket or force me out of my trailer that I live in. Even if they call the police the police cannot enforce me to leave my trailer or receive the fire marsh’s tickets!!!!
As I write this I see on the news a firefighter on a fire scene has been shot and killed. I guess the question I was going to write can wait. What horrible news. Horrible news.

Do not learn from these. They dont even put there hoods on.

Cory Monteith they seem to be some of the best i've seen , never standing around watching it burn , pro's all
Excellent communication. They all know their job and they just go do it. They're very calm.
I really like the communication and radio discipline with these guys. They rarely talk over each other (unless it's edited out). Everyone knows what's going on around them. I love teams that are that switched on. They're just very few and far between.
It’s eerie how sudden a dark room with a ceiling turns to a very bright room going all the way to the rafters.
Turning the lights on
Not enough can be said about the incredible sense of professionalism and skill portrayed in the Stockton FD. Great Job men.
Don't for get the dispatch lady!

Yeah these guys have communication and tactics mastered, I use these videos for training sometimes Becuase of how good they are.

Battalion Chief David Decker from Ohio has some great command videos as well.
Harrisburg, san diego, fresno, modesto, san Bernardino county, newark ohio.... All great delts
I nominate SFD for top fire dept in the US. You guys really have your sh*t together. FF/EMT/SRT 8yrs.

Can't help but laugh at the part with the guys screaming at their buddy to watch out but he still falls into the pond.

Good job filming too would be good to see 👀 more of the incident next time thankyou
That had to be very startling falling into that pond 😬
True heroes at work! Thank you for all you do. 👍
Great professionalism by the SFD, as per usual.....
Impressive work from all. Excellent command and communication. Even a know-nothing like me could keep track of the entire situation.
Was the pond swimming firefighter ok?

You guys did a great job once again. That was a really bad fire!
Watching from the UK. What a nightmare.. Feel sad for the owners of that once beautiful house. Firefighters are absolute heros.
Another excellent video! The best on TH-cam. Keep up the great work! Thank you!
The dispatcher was also excellent!
I wonder how much shit that firefighter got for falling in the pond😂
That looked like a hell on earth. How in the name of all that's reasonable did this start to begin with.
Nice to see they aren't scared to move in even after roof collapse.
I'm a 15 yr old boy from the uk and I want to be a firefighter I changed my mind from a mechanic to wanting to be a firefighter and hopefully I do well in school although I'm not the smartest kid and I hope I get a job being a firefighter
Do what you love and you will be surprised at how intelligent you will become in that area.
Good for you ! LEARN to stay calm when all others are afraid. Help others...it feels good ! Work out and be strong in mind and body. Learn team effort. Think.
A typically well planned and executed attack plan with quick tactics to cover new risks as they arise. Outstanding F.D. 👌👌👏👏👏👏
I just look this house up on Google earth and it looks like It is rebuilt.
I’m glad everyone was OK and that most of their possessions were saved.
Good job heroes
Google earth isnt always up to date that possibly could be before the fire
I am so sorry! This was a dangerous fire for all. But I couldn't help but laugh over the pond. And the comment about even after being warned some firefighters found it anyway. Then the sound of splashing! Oh dear!
I had to watch twice xD you can hear all the previous pond "victims" cry out "watch out for tHE POND!"just as the firefight falls in
@ 2:03 no hood?
Good eye!
So fucking what
I salute all of these brave men and women.
Wow I didn't know I was scared of the dark of the first part but it was so much better to wash out the fire than call the firefighter if the fire is large
Stockton city Clowncil should be charged with negligence for underfunding the fire department. Likely the police are underfunded as well.
what camera was being used to film this?
Most likely multiple GoPros.
Why is a 1alarm 2 alarm and so on?? Thanks.
Speed of the fire spread, wind spreading embers that could spark additional fires in surrounding houses, size of the house, need for other water sources, rest and rehab of the 1st alarm crews. Those are some of the reasons.
