Wow, great video. timing of the chain is so critical and I don't find it can be duplicated on flat ground. Which brings up the point of stress on the arm. So, I'm wondering if throwing from the mound and stress is a "old wifes tale" or not. My timing is way off but can't afford the chance to hurt my arm in finding the sequence and the timing. So, truth or fable?

Thank you great video! I tend to rotate early almost fully before front foot strike. Any drills to help to delay that?

Hi Brent, in regards to rotation vs linear movements in both pitching and hitting, what would you say if someone said ideally the back leg starts the chain reaction and initially moves linear (after creation of torsion of course) while the upper body delays.... and then the lower body explosively rotates/separates (in the horizontal plane- merry go round action) just before and during foot strike, followed by the upper body's initial move being rotational first (in the vertical plane- ferris wheel action) which creates a more true linear delay and increases the rubber band effect. This is then followed by mainly linear movement of the upper body towards the target, I don't think one can truly eliminate all rotation of the upper body but it tries not to follow the lower body fully. I was thinking the back arm follows as direct a path to the catcher from the scap loaded position for pitching and the hitter's back elbow/back hand aims just inside the ball being thrown by the pitcher. I'm thinking this would optimize the tension during the ENTIRE movements which would create and MAINTAIN a fight between the muscles of the upper and lower body during the transfer of energy up the chain. I was thinking that if the upper body just follows the lower body exactly in a linear or rotational movement then the tension is only temporary and doesn't maintain itself throughout the dynamic movements, which would potentially not create as much power. Some people say linear, some people say rotational, could it be both interacting in different ways and different times? Just some thoughts I had recently, wanted to know what you think about it since you contemplate things like this all day long. I won't be offended if you think I'm totally off base.

    • @brentpourciau

Targets On Deck sports. For the front leg problem he needs more strength and power which is develop with the Olympic strength and conditioning programs. He needs to work towards all the 3X Goals

Any drills to work on this? I can load well on back leg but have trouble with actually driving the force I create on the back leg.

Hi I’m a southpaw sophomore pitcher on JV and I only throw 68-70mph. But I know I have more in me but my body has trouble doing all the different movements. So my question is do would it be possible to record my self and send it to you guys via email. Even if you don’t have time to make a video on me could I send it anyway. I’m desperate I think it’s because I use all arm. But I try my hardest to stay in my legs. Idk I know this was long sorry Coach
