Shout out to you for giving a second look to a shoe you didn't like on the first run. I have over 100 miles in the shoe and my experience is really different. For me, it's a soft, bouncy, slightly heavy, cruiser with a nice geometry; like a slightly better Nimbus. Maybe I'm using it wrong. Unfortunately, when I want a really comfortable, cushioned ride, a lot of times, the SL2 is eating it's lunch.
Neo Vista has become my favorite go-to training shoes. However the hollow bottom is terrible for driving my stick shift sports car so I had to switch shoes for driving ^_^ Looking foward to head-to-head with Topo Specter 2!!
Your reviews are the best cause they're honest and unaffected by the hype! To your point about recommending shoes for $180, I picked up the 1080v13 under your recommendation last week cause I needed a recovery/easy run shoe for cozy boy summer. They feel great for exactly that PLUS I messed around today and did a tempo/threshold run and was surprised to find that I still got the energy return I needed! (don't know if you share the same sentiment, just my opinion as a small 5'4 flat footed runner) Is it the fastest? No. But did I feel good in it? Yeah!
I just cleared the 400 mile threshold on the neo vista, I think I’ll get it to 500. It EATS miles, long runs, slow pace, tempo pace. If you’re looking for 1 shoe, it’s close to the most versatile shoe for the price with the exception of maybe the SuperBlast 2 Paris. I only have 50 miles in the SB2, but I’d still take it over the neo vista even for a slightly higher price. I’m 6’ 160 run average 90 miles per week though I’m more of a midfoot striker, saying the Neo vista isn’t bouncy or necessarily soft though is a little outrageous. It’s one of the softest shoes and probably the second bounciest shoe I have after the hoka cielo x1. Love your videos, disagree with most of your assessments though, keep it up!
@@andy_runs305 I’ve worn it, but I only tried it on in store before purchasing the neo vista. I’d say the Skyward X was probably more comfortable on foot walking/jogging around the store, but it’s pricier too. I didn’t think I’d grab for the skyward X too often either despite the comfort, it definitely felt heavy on foot. I could only see myself using it for long runs in my rotation and it would probably keep my feet feeling great, but I can imagine my legs being exhausted from having the additional weight for 20+ miles
It’s a light runner special. Maybe even featherweight (enerzy nxt). Grip is the worse I’ve run in this year. Skyward and Superblast way more supportive
Mizuno just slashed down the price of the Wave Rebellion Pro 2 and that shoe can be found for $150 or less online. I'm expecting Mizuno to do the same with this shoe it will be $99 after the Fall Big City Marathons (by mid-November).
My Wave Sky 8 from Mizuno is almost as bouncy as the Invincible 3 and still has a much softer middlesole that also works for easy runs. For me the Nike Invincible 3 is an awesome shoes but it was not made to run slowly ! I did not try the Neo Vista but I would Expect it to be more versatile and faster then the Sky 8 .
I work at a running store, tried it out the other day and I was not pleased at all. Not sure why it was so hyped. Though I’m biased because I love ground feel and you legit can not feel the ground in that shoe.
Max cushioned shoes are there for protection so you can't feel the ground as much... Not surprised you didn't like 45mm in the heel 🤣 Try the Rebel v4 😍 Or NB Pacer v1
Revisiting shoes is interesting..sometimes we change our thinking about some shoes..I find that my preferences change as the season progresses and the mileage increases and decreases..as a fellow "ground pounder " with a hard foot strike,I also prefer high stack, squishy foams to keep up the mileage without injuries..nice run and pacing today..😊
@@brokenfreddy1262 I think it’d be more interesting if someone paid about $200 for a shoe, ran in it once, decided they didn’t like it, then kept it without revisiting it 😉
Haha midzuno is hilariously, thanks to your advice I found a pair of 860 v14s on eBay size 12 for about 100 dollars plus 20 dollar shipping, being the cheap man that I am I’ll do my best to haggle down to 100 total please pray for me guys 😊

I just could not get it to respond with a quick compression but had to resell it on marketplace, so word of warning don’t order this shoe direct from mizuno because their return policy is crap. For me as a lighter runner at 138lb and 5’6 i would say the superblast is still king at all paces so don’t discount the lighter runner on these bigger shoes too as sometimes they actually help us move well.
Haven't ran in this shoe but my main question on it has been the same as one of yours--why not just get the Flash for the kind of longer uptempo runs one might use this for? Flash geometry does look a tad more aggressive on the heel, but it seems like it would accomplish basically the same thing and maybe do it better. I think that Flash upper would be more comfortable than the neo vista too, but that's more me as I'm not a fan of the bootie uppers.
I’m pretty sure in your stroller run video with Matt from doctors of running, he said neo vista foam does lose its pep after 100 miles ? Any other folks tell you about longevity issues ?
It is the bounciest. Maybe its not immortal like the superblast.. but for 150 miles its the bounciest. But maybe you got a defect product? Foams are not uniform. Ive had superfirm and supersoft foams of the same generation. Ie 2 identical clifton 7s or 2 superblasts or 2 NB more v3
What is the brand identity of Mizuno? What are they best at and what kind of person buys Mizuno? I think I’m biased because I’ve never tried this brand and for some reason have no interest in it…I would be happy to be educated to the contrary
in my opinion mizuno is a decent brand in all the sports they get into, just not top dog vibes when it comes to running! + I use them for golf, so the brand in general tries to be all-around. (don't know if that helps haha)
@@nicksantos7586 yeah I think that’s maybe why I feel no connection - it’s not a name that pops to my mind when I think the word “shoes” and I have never seen an ad for the brand at all so I’m missing that subconscious boost. Instead all I know is the name and the logo, and that I think this shoe is styled a bit too literally on the “wave theme” like what I would have drawn in kindergarten if you told me to make a shoe that makes you think of the ocean 😂
Very big in Japan..a lot of Japanese runners use them for training and racing..they are mostly very firm which seems odd cos Japanese people are pretty small..kinda funny that at 100lbs they can't even compress the foams in
I love the Neo Vista. It’s a great shoe for this 56 yo who’s been running for over 40 years! It’s soft yet responsive for ez runs or progression runs. I wouldn’t try to run much faster than that in it. I personally think you’re too light and fast for it. Eat some sandwiches dude! Swag doesn’t matter to me anymore 😂😂😂

My favorite shoe with extra support is the new balance 860v14. It's comfortable, stable and versatile enough for everyday pace. Highly recommend if you want something easy to run in that's comfortable and fun

Bought this 2 months ago as replacement for my OG Superblast as my long run shoes. (almost 600km++ for my Second pair of SB1) 133KM done in this shoes. Yes, it's soft but have some lag of bounce. I'm trying to love this shoes. But, it's failed. One big problem for me is durability. The outsole durability is so bad. Because muzino labeling as daily or super "trainer", i expect 300 up to 500km or more for "trainer". At my highway area, it's already gone just for 100km++. And now, it's hella slippery at just Slightly wet condition. The midsole is getting too soft for picking up the pace. Suited me for below 7km/min Loosing the bounce like what i remembered when i got this for my first run. Now, it's just soft. Really2 small bounce left, just after 133km? For me, it's crazy. And, it's unstable. Maybe just because too soft midsole? Idk. That's what i feel. And thanks god, i bought the Superblast 2, 3 weeks ago. After 65km, SB2 already brakein. And, yes. For me, SB2 is way way better shoes than Neo Vista. It's softer than previous model, it's bouncier, it's more breathable, great stability, and no sign of wearing after 65km at the outsole. Lighter than neo vista. It's feel like SB2 made for me. It's suited me perfectly. So, i retired Mizuni Neo Vista just after 133KM. Fastest Retirement so far. 😔
It's light, bouncy, a really comfortable cruiser eating up miles while having fun. I like it a lot.
