I have also read that Israel defense personal (at one point in the Yom Kippur War) requested that 'Entertainment' sent to their front lines no longer sing demeaning songs about their foe....this was a different enemy (Egypt) from the Six Day War that they now confronted. There was simply nothing to laugh at now?

I fought the Yom Kippur war as a tank crew member in brigade 217 batalion 113 . The mistake of our leaders was to read the information in field couple days before the war ,Dayan refused to call the reservists and we never thought about a possibile war , Eygpt invaded Sinai in surprise war so Syria in Golan , but we were more proffessional then the Eygptians and after 1 week we crossed with Sharon division to the west side of the canal and reached 101 km on the high way to Cairo ,no force was between us and Cairo, The Eygptian second division was under siege on the east cost isolated from the rest of the Eygptian army they had no food or munition but for 24 hours of fight,On the east cost armour brigad 460 and 14 destroyed 95 percent of the Eygptian force, on that stage Russia threaten US to enter in war if Israel will advance and a cease fire was reached.
