    I've been 800 fill power goose down pillows for years. And high end. I have 6 of them on my bed currently. Two of which were over $400 each. But I decided to try something new so I bought the Coop Home Goods pillow and I'm very impressed and surprised at how much I love it. Part 1 and 2 both great! Thank you! 😁. I am so torn on what to get. I am pillow shopping and I didn’t realize that there are so many options! I don’t mind spending a bit more to get a great pillow. I sleep on both my side and stomach. I tend to like a lower loft, but since I sleep on my side too, maybe it’s better that it’s not too low. I would love something soft, fluffy, stays pretty cool and has the removable cover. Do you have any suggestions that come to mind in this case?

      Thank you! I know, it's so overwhelming lol. The Saatva Latex would probably the safest bet. It has the firmer core but it overall feels soft and is fluffy. The Nolah pillow I think can work too because it's so fluffy and you can bunch it up if you need.

    • @FilMaltez
      @FilMaltez  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been loving the Layla Kapok pillow lately! I feel like I didn't give it enough of a chance when I originally tried it. It's really lofty but molds nicely for the side and can kind of work if you're half on your stomach/half on your side. You do have to fluff it regularly. Otherwise, the Saatva pillow (also from my part 1) is a safe bet.

    Thanks so much for these videos, they are so helpful! I'm a 5'3 small framed side sleeper with neck and shoulder pain, trying to decide between eli and elm, saatva latex, and purple harmony (s or m). Do you think one stands out as the winner for someone of my size?

    • @FilMaltez
      @FilMaltez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much! I'm glad it helped. That's a tough one haha. I'd say the Saatva is the safest pick because it's the most familiar feeling for most people and you can bunch it up or adjust it. One thing about the Saatva the longer I've had it (almost a year I think) is that I do find myself tossing it in the dryer more often to fluff it back up and de-clump it than I used to, but once every couple weeks for 10 minutes isn't too bad for me. The Eli & Elm might be way too tall for you as it comes, so you may have to remove a lot of the fill. While I really like it and the cover is soft, I don't love the fuzzy feeling as much anymore on it compared to a normal pillow case and I've heard the pillow case they sell for it isn't great. While it doesn't sleep super hot, it sleeps the warmest out of the three in my experience. The Harmony is also great and I'd probably say try the medium because it does squish in quite a bit so the smaller one might end up too thin. I love it, but it is very different from a normal pillow and you might find it weird because of the grid and how bouncy it is. I will say for me, it slept the most neutral but the Saatva isn't far behind. Do with that what you will, it's such a hard decision lol. If I had to make a safe pick I'd say the Saatva because it's amazing, but at the same time, the Harmony might be worth the try and you can always return it if you don't like it.

(Im a combination sleeper, more on the side sleeper end) I plan to buy the Purple Harmony but want another pillow , I've always wanted a Down type pillow and liked those 3 you mentioned, just wanted your thoughts if you could pick 1 of those 3

    • @FilMaltez
      @FilMaltez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Out of the ones I tried, I would probably say the Coop especially if you spend most of the time side sleeping. You can adjust the fill so that it works in multiple positions. That said, it does feel more dense than a regular down/down alternative pillow. I forgot to mention in the video, but the coop pillow does have a weird memory foam smell at first, and it took a few days to a week to go away. Definitely would use a pillow case to lessen the smell. The medium firm Brooklinen might work too, but I didn'ty try that one. The Nolah you can bunch up to make it useable for side sleeping, but it's definitely not ideal. Maybe also look into the GhostPillow Faux Down. I heard that one feels a lot like down, is pretty cooling, and gives you enough height for side sleeping. I haven't personally tried that one though.

    @gentleoldmoviefan5680 ปีที่แล้ว

    Regarding the Saatva Latex Pillow, have you ever tried a different density for the innermost core (the Latex portion of the pillow, that is). For example, "soft" density innermost core, instead of the "medium firm" core that it usually comes with? I'm considering this, for a near-future order with them. That is, to order a "soft" version of the innermost core, with the idea that that might reduce the high loft (8 inches) of the pillow, which I am concerned could be excessive for me. It's much greater than any loft (height) of pillow than I've ever slept on before.

    • @FilMaltez
      @FilMaltez  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never tried that. After having it for a while, it softened up a bit and I move the inner core around as I need to add or remove height. But it's definitely too high for some people. I sleep mostly on my side and back now so this is great for me

      @@FilMaltez Thanks for your reply, and generosity in sharing your extensive knowledge about pillows. Later today, I plan to order a Saatva Latex Pillow based on my own research (7 or 8 hours worth) and your recommendation. I like that it is purported to be good against dust mites and moldy smells. Among my highest priorities in a pillow is that it is non-toxic, not having mysterious or unidentified components from foreign countries (read as "safe"), and doesn't give off any disturbing smells. Hypo-allergenic and organic (GOTS or GOLS certified?) is important too. If the Saatva pillow doesn't work out for me, do you have any other specific pillows (brands, and product names) that you could recommend, that have some of Saatva's good qualities, and be similar in comfort qualities! -- but maybe have a lower loft? That is, more of a typical height to the pillow?

      @@ashleyboerner4483 they've been good so far. I feel like they've gotten softer since I've had them though. I must sleep hard and heavy which would explain my sleep apnea. I feel like they've been better than any of the firm synthetic pillows I always buy but the latex DEFINITELY supports once my head seeps through the synthetic part of the pillow. Overall good but not sure if it's worth the price. I suppose how long they last will determine whether or not the price is worth it. I'm still within their 90 day return window.

    at the end of the video when you refer to the "purple" do you mean the Harmony or TwinCloud that you reviewed in the video?

      The harmony

      @@FilMaltez This is my first time investing in a high end pillow I would really appreciate your take on this so I make the right decision. I'm 6'1, 145 pounds, side sleeper what size harmony should I get "low", "medium", or tall"

    • @FilMaltez
      @FilMaltez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LubesterTV I would probably say the medium. It’s the most flexible of the three and a lot of people find the tall too high even for side sleeping unless you have broad shoulders. The low would flatten out too much I think

    So which is the best economical pillow for a female side sleeper that has snoring issues. HELP Part 3?

    • @FilMaltez
      @FilMaltez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no idea about the snoring but for side sleeping The coop home goods original or the sweet zzz side sleeper pillow would maybe be good ones to look at it. They’re I think like $70 so not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Brooklinen firm down alternative pillow might work too which is cheaper.

      @@peepers4763 No, it's definitely louder than it should have been. I played it through and then checked the original file and I mixed the music too loud.
