Level8 looks like a quality suitcase. However, I did not purchase that brand when I recently bought a new suitcase. The handle is too wide for my backpack to slip on. Also, I wanted to secure each divider inside with a zipper and not a strap.
According to their website; L8 20" carry on suitcases are quite heavy. Weight: 7.7lbs (3.5kg). My neat red Samsonite 20" suitcase weighs 4,19 lbs (1,9 kg). Allows me to pack more things within the weight restrictions.
A strip of decorative duct tape the full length of the front and back of a hard sided suitcase makes it easy to spot my luggage. Also covered one side of the luggage tag with the same duct tape.
Another great video. I usually add a belt around my suitcase along with unique luggage tag to help easily id my luggage. Throw in an AirTag and my destination inside I am all set. Always check that the label that airline puts on your luggage is correct if they are checking it in for you.
You should check the manufacturer's website and see what you have to do regarding warranties. For example, one company requires you to send them $20 in addition to the explanation of the problem and pictures for them to evaluate if they will do anything for you (plus you have to have proof it did not occur while in the airline's possession and if they reject your warranty claim they keep the $20.
Great videos. Problem of carry-ons with wide handles is you can't stack a backpack onto it with a backpack sleeve. Otherwise the extra space is awesome.
for bigger is always better, that is a statement that does have it place. traveling on Cruise when you driving to the port ( no flying have the big suite cases we can pack and do not have to being 2 each when going on. we have the small carry on for embarkation day and the big suit case is sent to our room. also for going to relative's car trips we just can bring one
similar suit cases, we cover our with stickers you can get like 2 to 5 inch or bigger on amazon and like 200 in a set and other sizes of anything you like birds, dogs disney lol. so we each covers our with stickers ( hard case of course)
This will probably be an unpopular opinion. US airlines actually should be very strict about baggage that is a carryon. Bags that don’t fit or barely fit take up extra time when boarding and when getting off the plane. It is a huge reason while what should be fairly simple procedures (getting on and off the plane) take way too long.
I work at an airport, I see so many people having a hard time trying to figure out which of the black suitcases is theirs, the other really common colors are navy blue, grey and red, yet when you see something with a fancy pattern or rarer color the owner snaps it up quickly, bonus is that a thief isn't going to try to grab a very identifiable bag. My bags are very colorful with big stickers on it to make it completely unique. I once saw two separate people show up with identical red plaid hard side carry ons at security at the same time. So getting a colorful one isn't fail proof. Make it yours and easy to identify
Hi Remy, for carry-on suitcases the zipper expansion generally isn't that useful for flying as it makes your suitcase too big when its expanded. For checking in. Sure. It can give you a little extra room if you bought too much stuff. Usually zipper expansions are on Nylon suitcases as the expansion is just typically a piece of fabric. Which also then typically isn't waterproof if your bag gets caught in heavy rains. Personally I don't look for zipper expansions as a feature for me.. but that's just me 😀

No need to buy an expensive suitcase as the luggage labour in airport just throw your suitcase when move them ! 😂😂
Great tips! Thanks for the info + video!
Thanks for watching Jimmy!
Thanks so mucj for covering level8. I've been looking at this suitcase for a month to determine if i want to spend the money to purchase it.

Great tips Chris, thanks!
Thanks JJ!

Perfect timing Chris, just what I was looking for. Thank you.
Glad I could help!

Is there a way to use another bag bag over the trolley handle?
I LOVE my Level8 suitcase! I’ll never buy cheap luggage again lol

Good point 😀
Hi Chris. Thanks for the video. I like to use a rolling duffel because it suits me better and not many travel with them. Take care.
Good choice! They're not super common indeed

for carry on weight and sizes, jackets with many pockets and put the heaves stuff in pockets lolol
similar suit cases, we cover our with stickers you can get like 2 to 5 inch or bigger on amazon and like 200 in a set and other sizes of anything you like birds, dogs disney lol. so we each covers our with stickers ( hard case of course)
love your vids
Agreed that size isn't as much an issue for cruises
Yellow Productions continues to rock.
Awwww

I'm confuse between buying 28" or 30" voyageur. Is it 30" good to go for most airlines for check in luggage?
I’ve bought one, and those thinking that the L8 suitcases are questionable, its the best suitcase I’ve ever had. And that’s my unbiased review.

@LoneHowler thanks for that real world experience report! Good point to still make your suitcase stand out even if you think it's unique
What's with Bell in the background sound?
I've come to the conclusion that there is no perfect suitcase.😂
Learned that a big suitcase means a heavy suitcase lesson the hard way.

Yellow easy to spot. When everyone luggage’s rolling down.
hey chris it doesn't seem like the yellow 8 luggage doesn't have a zipper expansion. Is that a pro or a con?

@YellowProductions makes sense. Thanks. I guess you're right. Having an expansion option just encourages over packing
I push my two-wheeled carry-on in front of me when going down an airplane aisle. The aisles are wide enough. Very easy. No banging on the seats.
But is it okay to be blinded if it is yellow and pretty? 🙂
Yes. But only if it's yellow 😀
I’ll stick to my Walmart luggage… haven’t been on a plane since I was 9…. Currently 38, we drive to our destinations
Sure. If you're driving it can last alot longer since you're the only one handling it. Not the airline folks that basically throw them around
Can’t remember what airline it was but I saw one where they won’t allow you to check your baggage if one piece is over 75 pounds
BIG mistake when buying Level 8! That extendable handle! Try fitting a standard backpack over it. Won't fit. Too wide!
They have plenty of suitcases that have normal width handles too
Sorry Rimowa, just not yellow enough.
