Man I wish pitch correcting didn't make their voices sound so weird. That said I'm still gonna listen to this a million times, because FINALLY they're not off key from each other! Thank you so much for this!
ppl are saying other remixes have one of them off pitch, but if u listen closer it pretty much harmonizes with eachother… but this sounds rlly good too
TL:DR: it's not a harmonized tune because... Music theory student here - harmonizing tunes are major 3rds and perfect 5ths, whereas their key difference is a perfect 4th, which is not counted as a harmonizing tune (and respectfully hurts my ears) however you did just give me an idea to try actually harmonizing them
from 3:15 they sing together so gently and as they're words are no longer the same, Kaveh claims that they share the same road but it's only a dead end that leads to nothing, meanwhile Al Haithem tells him that he never shared his burden. Kaveh insists "there's nothing an artist can do" but as Al Haithem asks if Kaveh noticed him watching over it sounds so sweet as though maybe, just maybe Kaveh will listen but even with how beautifully unison they are you can still HEAR Kaveh's voice raised slightly louder then Al Haithem's because he refuses to listen, refuses to believe that he can rest even when his work isn't perfected because "when you swing your brush you have to follow through" he shouts and it feels like he truly is refusing to believe that he's not at fault and it hurts when Al Haithem's voice is drowned out since it feels like he knows how difficult getting him to listen would be and it sounds so perfect that it feels like right in front of me arguing and it tears me apart, yet i love it so much. there's multiple versions that overlap each song and yet this one is one of my favorites
I love thinking about how with you presented the captions of both songs as a really good way to show the progression of both of these characters further division from each other- like, in the beginning despite their different perspectives their lines are more similar to each other, but then it becomes more and more split apart- and I especially thought about it that way with the lines of "sketching visions in our heads" splitting apart into "then you rip them all to shreds" in Al-Haitham's POV and "just to see them ripped to shreds" in Kaveh's- It's almost like now- despite it perhaps not being intentional, with how the lyrics are written out and even colored, they're shown together but then LITERALLY ripped in half... Then just thinking about the end of the song, imagining it as Al-Haitham at last reaching Kaveh in the last second as they end in this... if I'm using the right words because really I don't know how else to say it... beautiful, tragic... yet hopeful harmony... :D this may've not been intentional on your part either but- regardless I just wanted to share my perspective on how I interpreted this lyric video that ain't even official lol /lh /gen
Glad you liked the video!! I could go on and on about things I noticed about the lyrics while typing up the captions, but I think you already caught a lot of it. the gold for the unison was partially to save space but also to emphasize the lyricist’s choices in what was changed vs left the same, because a lot of them seem really intentional to me? Like in the “ripped to shreds” part you mentioned, it works from three angles: symbolically (the lyrics are “ripping apart), musically (it adds another layer of buildup to lead out of the quiet part), and narratively (Kaveh’s line is passive, so it seems like nobody’s at fault for ruining the visions, but Alhaitham’s implicates Kaveh and makes it seem like something he does intentionally). I’m honestly in awe of the lyricist (and the rest of the team!), it was so fun to mix this and I’m happy my interpretation could inspire some thoughts :-)
I appreciate this repitched version, but it sounds like an overlapping conversation compared to the original, which is more of an argument; it's more Kavetham. But it is less intense than the original, so I understand why some prefer this version.
my god, finally found one with the same pitch😭 i was trying to make it myself but i couldn't thank you, now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna bawl my eyes out
I would never have thought that a simple manipulation of pitch could change the overall sound of the tracks so much. Thank you so much for such a discovery and remix of these two tracks into one whole that you can listen to forever!!! The originals are brilliant in their execution, but the overall remix turned out really great!
I’m not an expert but i don’t think it would work, because the key is lower, so one of them (depending on the version of the instrumental) would just be off key
@Arthur_brthm yeah but it basically sounds like they swapped the singers, hearing the OG with what's essentially a female voice is jarring asf and it pulls you out of the song
@@Jashin325 This mix was my best effort to make a version where they both had natural-human sounding voices since it gets really robotic if I tip it too far in either direction, but I’ve gotten a lot of requests for this so I’ll see what I can do!
I love alhaitham’s voice for this one! It’s suits him well. But can you make a new version keeping Kaveh’s voice? Kavehs voice was perfect But it’s honestly the best song I’ve heard so far!!!
Oh my god, thank you!!! I love both versions, but when people have been putting both together, the clash in pitch has been very hard to listen to. This is perfect ☺️
this song in both of its forms has been RIPPING MY HEART TO PIECES at least it's fueling my fanfic, otherwise I'd be sobbing into a pillow right about now
Apparently, pitch modulation makes Lia’s voice more masculine and Will’s voice more feminine.. if you imagine it, its like tuning up male’s voice (more high pitching) and tuning down female’s voice (lower pitch).. thus, both voice reach the breaking point (an equilibrium) where theyre on basically the same key.. I was also confused at first, but after listening for a couple of times, I realized that there are parts that unique to Will’s voice, e.g. 3:36 , “but bared” and “anywhere”.. that soft “any-“ is phenomenal 😍 *im also quite inexperienced with these things so correct me if im wrong
Fun fact: if your wearing headphones then on the left side you can hear the green text and on the right side you can hear the red text (I’m not sure if it works for everyone but it works on my headphones)
Can you make a version of this where the audio isn’t separated? Like it’s the same in both ears because I wanna listen to this while doing things but the left side of my headphones are broken
i love how everyone wanted the Alhaitham one to sound like him and AI is the result because the person who made it didn't think to have a male voice sing it for the fans... ;-; ;-;
@@17timesSmoother This is a remix with pitch modulation, not AI. It’s both the original artist’s voices and I created the mix in Ableton Live. I wasn’t particularly going for a more masculine sound with Lia’s voice, just one that could sound natural in the same key as Will’s, it just so happens to sound masculine because of the wavelength stretching. Being picky over the vocal range of someone who spearheaded an entire music video project for all of us to enjoy for free is disrespectful to all of their efforts.
how on earth is lia's vocal range his fault? the singer of alhaitham's version is transmasculine, and their vocal range isn't anywhere within their control. this clearly isn't ai, and this is a very rude thing to say about the very person who even thought to create the project in the first place. if you want someone with a deeper voice to sing alhaitham's part, by all means feel free, but there is no need to insult the voice of the very person that made this all happen.
