Gravity hammers has no place on Halo when you have highly trained marines with real world squad weapons and highly advanced Aliens with Plasma guns. Halo isnt war40k
@@panzerrjcb Did you forget the needler exists? It is literally a gun that shoots crystals that home in (somehow???) and then spontaneously explode when enough of them land on a target. And the explosion is very inconsistent in how it functions, because it has to hit flesh to supercombine, unless the target is a spartan or sangheili. If it hits a hunters armor, no supercombine. Any wall or the ground will also result in not exploding. It is not only a nonsensical weapon, it has zero consistency. Halo never claimed be to realistic when it comes to alien shit.
@@panzerrjcb the gravity hammer is exactly the final phase of all scifi imo. Super advanced weapons going back to a club that hits even harder than a normal club could.
@@panzerrjcb I find it hilarious that anyone would claim _Halo,_ the series featuring ancient races creating a galaxy-consuming mega virus, and then as a response to the megavirus, another race (also created by the same ancient race) builds superweapons to wipe out all intelligent life in the galaxy _before the virus can get there_ "realistic." That's not even mentioning the large group of alien races banded together by religious zealotry, artificial intelligence, faster-than-light travel, megastructures on the scale of the solar system, genetically-enhanced cyborg super soldiers, etc.
Except that, by the game's own admission, the Crucible is not actually a weapon. It's an energy source. The purpose of the Crucible was to link up with the Citadel (or more accurately, the Catalyst) and alter the signal the Catalyst beams to all the Reapers throughout the galaxy, effectively turning it into a weapon, although that's not the Crucible's primary purpose. (In fact, without Shepard to decide/convince the Catalyst to choose a new path and alter the signal, the Crucible would have done nothing.)
@@Zaxaresit's an anti-reaper weapon. Just because it's designed to only target a certain enemy doesn't mean it's not a weapon lol. If you launch the final mission with low enough war assets and the crucible is fired, it literally nukes the earth killing everyone.
@@Zaxares Crucible itself isn't a weapon, but Crucible docked to the Citadel sure as hell is a weapon, what with it being capable of destroying all synthetic life in the galaxy (not just Reapers, Geth are also wiped out if you do this). Not to mention that it also overloads and destroys the entire Mass Relay network in the process of doing so. Oh, and if you have a really low military score, it also blows up Earth. (Interestingly, this overload must completely drain the Mass Relays of energy, as destroying relays via conventional means results in an explosion on par with supernovas. Really puts to scale how much energy is being commanded here.)
The Council Alliance did indeed build the Crucible under the mistaken idea that it was a weapon, so yeah, I'm willing to accept it as "a weapon" based on that. Still though, from a technical standpoint it's not a weapon any more than, say, the nuclear fusion reactor you rigged up to explode on Virmire was a weapon. It just got re-purposed to fulfill that role. Incidentally, the Geth actually got blown up because they made the mistake of using Reaper architecture/designs when they achieved full sapience. The Catalyst thus recognized them as being "Reapers" and targeted them appropriately, even on maximum War Score. If the Geth had instead stuck to their original goal of reaching sapience on their own terms, they would have been spared.
I love the Boltgun from Warhammer 40k! But realistically, the recoil would've knocked that mannequin on his butt! They do make smaller, human-sized Boltguns and Boltpistols, but the Space Marine Boltgun depicted here is the most famous! They are massive guns for massive people! It'd be cool to see Crescent Rose from RWBY included here! That has to be one of my favorite fictional weapons of all time!
I think the scale seems off, considering that MK Vb Godwyn-Pattern Bolters (the ones used by generic Astartes) are supposedly .75 caliber, which is not even an inch, and not even 40mm. But I see it as a case of GW being terrible with numbers as always, because the video depiction seems much better suited for the 3.5m superhumans that supposedly wield them. So, I honestly prefer it this way, by far.
@@DonVigaDeFierro If I remember right whole Second War of Armageddon (full-scale planetary invasion to world with population of billions) caused less than one million Imperial casualties. In total. GW really don't know much about numbers, though 120mm main cannon of Leman Russ MBT is realistic.
To play devil’s advocate… Aren’t they supposed to be Gyrojet designs? Where the projectiles are rockets themselves, meaning that they gradually accelerate past the barrel, making recoil more of a moot point? It also depends on the velocity of the round in question. While the large round may not help, firing at subsonic velocities could keep recoil low, whereas if velocity was more in line with, say, 7.62x39mm, THEN recoil could knock an average human back. It also depends on how heavy the boltgun is; if it weighs about as much as an M2 Browning (~80 lbs), it doesn’t help in portability, but it DOES help in recoil management. The inverse is true if it’s about as heavy as a particularly heavy GPMG (read: 40 lbs)… not that the space marines would care.
@@camarokidbb4347 As boltguns are told to shoot rockets and having a ferocious recoil it might be hybrid design. That means regular bullet that is assisted with rocket.
@@vksasdgaming9472 Correct. First round (a.k.a bolt) is launched out of the bolter with a conventional charge (like a normal bullet) then after leaving the barrel, the gyrojet activates.

It was really cool seeing the various superlasers on their own without their enormous housings. And to think Buster Machine 3 is a bomb that has the (condensed) planet Jupiter at its core...
I take it Earth Doesn't exist any more in that franchise then as Jupiter sucks in all the comets and such and keep a lot of nasty stuff out of the inner solar system if Jupiter was removed the inner rock worlds would get bukkaied by giant killer rocks on a more regular basis. & that that is even ignoring the solar systems mechanics being completely messed up by the removal of one of the largerst Gravity wells. The earth & Moon are barely holding fast to each other as it is such a disruption would be "unpleasant" or even completely fatal to Earth.

In Halo lore, Installation 04 is part of a specific set of Halos called the Neoteric Array. Before them, there was the Senescent Array, which was said to be around 3x larger than the Neoteric but much weaker (Installation 04’s diameter is around 10,000 kilometers while Installation 07 [before it’s reconstruction into the Neoteric Array] was abound 30,000 kilometers). Also it’s a shame you didn’t include any Ace Combat superweapons as there’s many good examples (Stonehenge, Chandelier, The S.O.L.G., Megalith)

7:14 Welp, there goes all life in the nearby galaxy, and that’s if the other installations don’t fire, if they do then, we better hope the forerunners had a second backup for reseeding life in the galaxy 💀
Would be nice to see where the colony laser from Mobile Suit Gundam fits in. I haven't found an estimate on it's length, but the diameter is apparently 6km.
In the next video, can you compare the size of famous palaces in the world (such as the Forbidden City, Buckingham Palace, and the Palace of Versailles), or the comparison of large single buildings with a large area (such as the Pentagon, Apple Headquarters, and Chengdu New Century Global Center)?
When it started to zoomed out from Earth : "Okay what is this planet size weapon?" - zoomed out from solar system "wait, no, it can't be" - zoomed out from galaxy "oh fuck this is it" - zoomed out from super cluster "More..." - drill spinning "YESSS ..."
I have never seen a single episode of _Gurren Lagann._ To someone as oblivious to this series as I am, I would think that only _God_ could build such a weapon! 😱
love the inclusion of the quarantine enforcement platform but at the same time im really bummed that nothing from gundam showed up, then again due to the nature of the IP it'd probably have 20 entries, from beam sabers and zaku machine gun to megaparticle bazookas and guided funnel bits, to colony lasers and composite solar annihilation arrays not to mention the classic 'gravity plus the largest object you can find'
I’m really starting to believe that there will be no weapon in anime (or fiction in general) that will be as outlandish as the Giga Drill in Gurran Lagan. I don’t even think someone with the infinitely gauntlet would be able to perceive something THAT big to erase it from existence
Can I just mention that we only got to see just over or just under half of the weapons that metalballstudios prepared for this video, as the infinity gauntlet erased half of the total early on into the video. Video starts at 0:00 btw.
Just wondering why the lightsaber is casting a shadow on the guy holding it... surely a lightsaber illuminates objects, rather than casts shadows??? 🤔Fantasic work though - always love MBS videos!
That's actually an interesting question. It DOES block ambient light, since you can't see through it. I would say it casts a shadow, but you probably have to look closely in order to spot the difference in color between the things that are lighted by sunlight and saber-light both, as opposed to those lighted only by saber-light because the saber is blocking sunlight from hitting them.
I've got a great idea for a future video, though getting accurate information may be difficult; Fictional Mountain/Hill Sizes. For a couple of sample ideas; Ant Hill (The Ant Bully)- Roughly 25cm Culdee Fell (The Railway Series)- 2,048-3,029 ft i.e 624-923m Dragons Cave (Ninja Sex Party)- 90,150,100 (correctly interpreted height)-90,000,000,150,000,100 ft (listed height) i.e 27,477,750-27,432,000,045,720,032m

The Crucible from Mass Effect would be somewhere with the larger weapons
Bro's here too!
To play devil’s advocate…
Aren’t they supposed to be Gyrojet designs?
@@vksasdgaming9472
Correct.
First round (a.k.a bolt) is launched out of the bolter with a conventional charge (like a normal bullet) then after leaving the barrel, the gyrojet activates.
The blue cubes from the time comparison would definitely the biggest fictional weapon because of how much psychological damage they can do
Yeah, that video is nuts
Yeah bro I still remember that video and watch it every then and now.
How about emotional damage
And also I wouldn't want the universe to collide with one of the larger ones.

I love that you included the Quarantine Enforcement Platform from Subanautica!!! That game doesn't get enough love
I love seeing the lightsaber in the line-up. Recently moved into Star Wars.
Also really respect the 3D modelling on Andúril.
And the Planet Killer from Star Trek: TOS, and the internals of the Death Star laser.
Didn't realize how large the Dreadnaught's Super Weapon was. I knew the entirety of the Dreadnaught was over 1.5km, but the weapon being around 400m is insane.
Depending on the scale the Dreadnought is between 1.5km and 3500km long.
The main weapon managed to clear an area 1/5th the thickness of saturns ring
No way! You included the ATR-4107??? That was such a niche episode of Voyager! He is a true Trekkie.
seriously well done size comparison vid, most others on yt are really simple and can get kinda boring. This one’s really nice though, with accurate info and even adding little animations for each item for extra charm

2:54 I DO NEED A GUN.
I NEED A BIG GUN.
I NEED A REALLY BIG GUN...
Great list! I'd say my favorite fictional weapons are:
- Lightsaber from Star Wars
- Omniblade from Mass Effect 3
- Batarangs from DC Comics
- Malcolm Reynold's pistol from Firefly
- Plasma Cutter from Dead Space
- Halo CE Shotgun from Halo
- DC-17 from Star Wars Republic Commando
- Ronin Titan Sword from TItanfall 2
And favorite devices that could have offensive capabilities in certain circumstances:
- Sonic Screwderiver from Doctor Who
- Web-Shooters from Marvel Comics
Only the lightsaber from Star Wars made it into the video intriguing 🤔
Commander Shepard with the adept class & an omni blade is literally a jedi. Mind blown
My fav is the typhoon from crysis 3
My favs r the Spear of Longinus and the positron sniper rifle from Evangelion, literally goat of all weapons
ace combat weapons like excaliber, Stonehenge, chandelier

Anytime anything zooms out past our solar system I know we're getting into Gurren Lagann territory
It does actually, but comets and asteroids are the least if it's worries in the franchise.
@@90lancaster humanity has the power and tech to weaponize jupiter as a bomb, I think they can handle a stray rock or two. ;)
@@90lancaster to be fair, if you kept the bomb in Jupiter's original orbit, it wouldn't mess up the orbits of the other planets at all. Now, if you detonated it...

I like how broad your definition of weapon is, it's so cool to see the different types
I was hoping for Chandelier up until they reached the stratosphere in size lol
What about the Ark?
@@NOBLESIX-UNSC It’s the same situation as the Halo’s, The Lesser Ark seen in Halo 3 is about 100,000km in diameter and the Greater Ark seen in the Forerunner trilogy was about 300,000

but at the same time im really bummed that nothing from gundam showed up, then again due to the nature of the IP it'd probably have 20 entries, from beam sabers and zaku machine gun to megaparticle bazookas and guided funnel bits, to colony lasers and composite solar annihilation arrays

I love that you got the RYNO on the thumb nail (guaranteed to rip ya a new one)
I’m really starting to believe that there will be no weapon in anime (or fiction in general) that will be as outlandish as the Giga Drill in Gurran Lagan. I don’t even think someone with the infinitely gauntlet would be able to perceive something THAT big to erase it from existence
I was not expecting to see the Death Note being included in this video. But good to know that someone knows about one of my favorite Anime's.

I suspect to save rendering time it was not rendered as a world impacting light source.
Love the added humor. Look forward to more videos.

Mt. Doom, from Tolkein.
Mt. Shann, from Red Dead Redemption.
Mt. Ararat, from the Noah story (probably the same size as the real one).
