This was really cool to watch! Seeing that mass armour push was kind of crazy, all the aircraft coming in for the strafing runs and then the AT line opening up once the smoke dissapates... a truly fearsome defensive unit there. All that artillery lol. The Imperial Guard would be proud. For a defensive scenario there's probably nothing better for being able to absorb those pushes as you say. Well played. I played this part of the map the only time I've played on Tannenburg. I was on the same side but playing 6th Airborne. I remember I was able to push up all the way through the forest on the left but then struggled to make headway, as getting armour through the gap in the woods was met with a wall of AT. This video has given me a better insight of how this side of the map can be played. Thanks
the italians could fight very well, it's just the equipment was shit and malfunctioned, and like you said, special forces got preferential treatment. Japanese also did the same thing, the Type 100 was mainly issued to paratrooper units.

Last time I played on this map was on the allied side with the New Zealand division in the centre forests, very hard fight but come the end of the game it was probably my most solid defensive and counter offensive played game ever, it's a very well balanced map I've found. We won the game by the way!
I wonder why you use the 13 marine squad in CQB? They are expensive, and while they have some SMG, they don't stand up to real shock infantry. I prefer to use them as defensive unit, due to the LMG/AR update.
A hidden stat I noticed is that the ML-20 has a much lower angle of fire than all the other artillery of toulon. Resulting in what seems like quicker time on target. Tho admittedly i havent timed it. As you can see the Geb.H 316(i) is probably the worst tube you can pick. Just gotta love all those hidden stats!
Any aggressive armored division with strong early mortar support would probably be decent early to mid game. Otherwise infantry decks with a higher availability of superior infantry and strong artillery could certainly be a match in the late game. Particularly rocket off map and Andruyshas.
A good counter is a fast moving BG. The Toulon BG mostly have transport capable of only 70 speed. One tactic I use is to rush with 3-4 M8, which with their speed enable to rush past the middle point and kill/disembark the Toulon infantries. I spend most of phase A fortifying the middle flag, but with the other phases I will support my teammate

This division is a hard nut to crack once its hull down, damn.
The Brandenburgers are fucking nuts, they move so fast and demolish other infantry in forests or light woods.
They are very good but maybe not the best when you compare them to the Maro or something like Begleit Pioneers.

Axis - nope, we are oldschool, WW1, with tons of artillery and some tench sweeping SMG

Possibly harder to spot too, than a big looping arc, making manual counter-battery more difficult.
