Matt , I am sitting here watching your and Bear's story with such a smile in my heart ! Because of failed back surgery, my days of riding are over , to my great sadness. Watching you with Bear, I 'm thinking a Shetland or two, or miniature horses , as driving ponies, might be an excellent idea for me. I love the idea of a job for these little guys, who so often are outgrown as children's ponies, and sent to a pasture to get horribly fat and unloved for the rest of their lives . Tragic. Anyway, I am thoroughly enjoying and being inspired by your story with Bear , and your efforts to give him a loving, lifelong home , and an important job.

just get a low rubber bucket and put the Iodized salt lick in that. This also can be where you put the extra vitamin supplements and bran or what low calorie feed the pony needs. Don't put something he can get caught in. I love you guys.

How do you afford your horses at an age of 21? I'm 16 and owning a horse has been my dream for more than ten years and I'm planning on buying one when I'm 20 or so, but I just dont know how to afford it.. Do you have any tips? Or could you just tell me what you do to afford it?

Mine play with "GoDog" dog toys we tie up with stretchy cord. Their wall is open on top and they catapult them over at each other. Saves wear and tear on stall walls.

just curious. Isn't Bear and the other shetland(sorry forgot name) about the same hight. If so just like bring the shetland in this stables to test out the high for everything. Idk I could be totally wrong. Just a thought.
