What happens to postal workers fehb in retirement that is different from the others? And how does 6 hours of sick leave equal a day and a 1/4?

If you are postal employee, your agency is most likely paying a greater share of your FEHB while working than a normal FERS employee at a different non-postal agency. At retirement, a normal FERS employee will still pay about the same premium (just on a monthly instead of biweekly basis) as they were while working. A postal employee's FEBH premium will likely see increase because their agency will no longer be paying the extra amount towards it and the postal retiree will now pay about the same amount as the normal FERS employee.
If you take a full eight hour work day off with sick leave you are using 8 hours of your sick leave. However, as Mel explained, a sick day according to OPM is only 6 hours so by taking the full 8 hours you have used 1 sick day plus 2 hours of another sick day. Technically, I believe that it should have been 1 and 1/3 sick days.
