      @@dustinwilliams7542 Yep, it's just a matter of identifying what sells at any given time, and giving that to the fans. In Hickersons day, it was more about being a believable tough guy, and making the audience feel like they were rooting for one of their own. Sammartino and the ethnic fans in the northeast is a good example. But by the mid to late 80's, it was more about cartoonish and/or larger than life characters who didn't have to be able to go in the ring, but had charisma. Say whatever you want about Warrior or Hogan or Dusty, etc, but they had charisma and fans ate it up.

      @@jocam21 You need to learn what "out of shape" means. There are fat people that run marathons; they're not out of shape. Physiques are important to a body building competition, but not overly important for a wrestler (when wrestling was serious) if they could work and cut a promo. The early UFC shows proved that muscles are meaningless in a fight, and people knew it back in the old days. Well that guy Phil was way off when he said "you 2 guys will be in the first and second matches the rest of your lives" Both Sting and Warrior became bigger and made more money than Phil could ever dream of.

    • @MaxxCoyote
      @MaxxCoyote 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sting wised up. Warrior became a washed up joke. Warrior barely had a net worth over a million when he died. Not really more money than Phil could ever dream of.
      Also? Phil is still up and kicking, living his life at 77. Warrior is worm food having had his roided up heart pop at 56.
      I'd say Phil won.

    IMO, Jim Cornette is a thoroughly enjoyable listen, and a brilliant mind and historian, when it comes to wrestling.
    But when he starts bringing up politics and blocking Republicans, he quickly morphs into a clueless, pathetic, far-left, insane hack.
