I wish I could create boundaries for my parents from all our relatives..They have literally played with my parents mental health by asking about marriage questions and scaring them with the age factor. Sometimes not having boundaries can end up causing havoc in somebody's life either on first hand and second hand basis. Thank you for this podcast and I really look forwards to more podcasts from you guys.

Responsibility and boundaries in family and society are crucial for a harmonious and balanced life. Achieving it might be subjective according to people around us , but their are some steps that can lead to a fulfilling and balanced existence. important thing is respect for each other as a human and empathy towards everyone.
If in the name of tradition we are sufocating or burdening person (specially weaker sections of society)then that boundaries should be reformed.
Its all subjective at the end of the day according to choices we want to make

Great topic discussed in this podcast. Creating boundaries for yourself with every relation is so important, be it your parents, siblings, partner, close friends, external family, neighbors, and anyone. Boundaries help you to give you privacy, space, and determine your likes/dislikes and preferences. Best to establish your boundaries respectfully as soon as possible, and it must be delivered through good communication. The ultimate goal of boundaries should be to deliver your message (you need to let others know what you want and how to be treated) and be respectful in the way you communicate, with the hopes the other person will respect your wish and to create a healthy relationship with each other.
A personal example of a boundary I had to set with my mother is that she walks into my room anytime, even if my door is closed and unlocked, to tell me any random thing on her mind or a question. I don't like that she comes in because I want privacy and some alone time if I'm getting ready, reading, studying, talking to friends, and etc. Also, I don't want her walking into my room as I'm changing and it's my choice if I keep the door unlocked. So, I told her to please knock before coming in. I can tell she felt it a bit that her daughter is telling her something to be careful about that she herself may not consider it to be a big deal but to her daughter it matters and is important, so setting boundaries is vital. Setting boundaries with children that live with their parents is important and a topic to be discussed!
When meeting new people, you have to be careful with your behavior because boundaries can be set through nonverbal behavior and does not always have to be done verbally. The more you open up and share private matters with others, the less boundaries you create and allow them to enter and interfere in your matters.
Additionally, follow what you preach. If you would like others to respect your boundaries, treat others the same way (it's not one sided).

I am from India…. 32 yr old girl and single (by choice) and my parents are freaking out since few yrs because of all the anxiety they get from relatives. Everyone keeps asking them abt my marriage n all and the fact that the agr is over n all. I can see a lot of stress in our house because of this. And nobody cares to listen me

The concept of making boundaries or respecting boundaries is not linked with the person's education level. I remember once my cousin (master in CS) who got married a few months ago at that time told me that why didn't you ask me whether I am pregnant or not 😂 and I was speechless at that moment.
