I have to say, the Sanrenmu 7010 is quickly becoming my new favorite small pocket knife, thanks to you Jake. It's already replaced my Spyderco Dragonfly in my EDC rotation. I highly recommend this excellent budget little folder...
I really like their small models and their larger ones, I have reviewed over 100 of their knives but they are smart they know that most people in USA and beyond what larger knives more than they want small ones so they have made the change and their new SRM line is mostly full sized.
Question Jake - 710 vs. 7010. Ali lists them both having overall length of 165 mm. It says the 710 has an 80 mm blade, and 7010 has 71 mm. Do you think this is correct? I'm liking that 710ti, but want under 3" blade. Thanks for the review.
They are the same knife, just different model numbers. so it used to be the 710, but now it's 7010. They (Sanrnemu) said they moved from a 3 digit model numbering system and changed it to 4 digits but that does not apply to LAND labeled knives, they still use a 3 digit numbering system. I have a good handful of Sanrenmu knives that are a bit older and have 3 digit model numbers on them.
710 is for older naming system which I believe it is before 2014 when they were only selling knives as Land online, a brand name for overseas markets. I have both a 710 which made at 2010 (sold as a "knife packing box only") and 7010 which made at late 2016, the only different is older 710 has better overall fit and finish.
Started my knife addiction on a “Land” and a “Ganzo”. Didn’t even know what a “Sabenza” was, let alone a “finger choi”! I have a “Land 155”, no longer available. It’s more or less a copy of a Shirogorov. There were good things and bad things about it and I had to make some mods to fix and improve on it. It is one of my favorite knives.
They do a pretty good job making some copies but I am most enthused, at least with Ganzo when they started doing their own designs, they even have an open call for people to submit designs for them to make.
I have taken thumb studs off - BUT they were damaged in the process. I don't have a method what works cleanly. If you want to take them off AND you want to replace the thumb studs with other thumb studs, then this is the method I recommend, IF you have steady hands: Grind two flat sides on each thumb stud (file or Dremel type tool) and then you can use pliers to unscrew them. Unfortunately, I don't have a method for you to be able to re-use the original thumb studs.
The design is the best part, I do wish Chris Reeves would produce some uber budget versions under his own brand, but I think that goes against his principles.
I have had those titanium ones in my cart on and off for a couple of weeks but money is just too tight for me, but I did order the pocket clip and the titanium slab for the 8103.
I have verified that all the links are indeed in the video description below the video. BUT TH-cam wouldn't let me post them all in the comments section (they don't like links that lead away from TH-cam) But I will try to leave the links here, I will reply again to this comment right away.
I can understand how someone like Chris Reeves makes knives in USA and pays his employees a fair American wage. The prices just have to be a lot higher than the knives I can afford. To me, its not frustrating that they are so expensive. It's a bit like I wish I could have a car that can do 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds, those are totally out of my reach, and I probably won't ever be able to afford it so I am content with my Corrolla. What I find frustrating is when people chew me out for buying a budget knife that looks quite a bit like a PREMIUM knife. They tell me I am stealing from guys like Chris Reeves! As though my buying a Sanrenmu will hurt his bank account somehow when he can barely make his knives fast enough to keep them on the shelves.
Sanrenmu is low budget and Shirogorov is high end production knives. That is like comparing a Cessna with Leer jet. I like Shirogorov knives more too. The very LOWEST prices Shirogorov knife at Knife Center is $700.00, and the cheapest Sanrenmu or LAND knife is under $20.00 See: www.knifecenter.com/brand/594/shirogorov-custom-division-knives

Nice choice, I like it a lot, and I find I like how it cuts better than the dragonfly too.
I have several Sanrenmus, like them. Glad they have larger models!

I bought a few variations after watching your original video. Got my start with these.
It's a great place to start.
Absolutely dynamite value knives. Great video!
Thanks for watching!

@@CanadianCuttingEdge so the 80 mm blade length listed for the 710 is likely a misprint?

I carried the 7010 for a few years and replaced it with a Brother slip joint. I own 17 Sanrenmu knives and like all of them.
They are the brand that I have had more knives of than any other. It's hard to beat a Sanrenmu for the quality to price ratio.
Cool, I saw one on Amazon with OD green G-10 handle I'll probably grab.
Ahh very nice. I am very fond of my G10 version of the 7010, it's my favourite.
Ordered the 912. Thanks Jake!👍
I am sure you will be happy with it.
@@CanadianCuttingEdge It arrived. Haven't been this impressed in awhile! Thanks Jake!
I have a 7010LUC-SA nail file version. Mine is a flat grind. I wish that it was hollow.
I have not seen any of those in a flat grind. I wish they would have also made the larger versions with a hollow grind too.
@@CanadianCuttingEdge yes that would be great!
Has anyone successfully taken thumb studs off from 9xx land knife? If you can share your method. I would like to regrind/thin the knife.
Thanks.

Still a gorgeous looking knife

A 910 with M390. Interesting. Maybe if it had carbon fibre scales I could justify it... I do like my Sandvik 910..

justin from ocd-4edc can laser etch
Thanks I will look him up.

Awesome have been interested in these especially the nice Benchmade Anthem clone. These knife maker's have gotten out of hand with pricing.

Imagine wanting to put your own logo on a Chinese clone...
Okay.
