- Let's predict the future of Disneyland's beloved Critter Country! How long will this iconic land remain a part of the park? Discover its crucial role in the expansion plans outlined in Disney Forward and speculate on what it means for the park's future. We'll also examine the clues hidden in the development of Tiana's Bayou Adventure, offering insights into the potential fate of Critter Country. Don't miss this exclusive analysis that could shape your Disneyland experience, hopefully for years to come!
Nobody else on YT has the insight to put all of these pieces together. Everyone else may see walls, Brickey helps us see the future. You’re the best!
Major kudos on your filming technique. You're able to film the park without all the massive crowds, which is a credit to your knowledge of the parks layout & proper timing. Keep up the great work 👍
It is a TON of extra effort, but it makes such a better product. I'm glad you noticed.
Critter Country is a great little relaxing corner of the park...Excited to see them massage the area to make it work! I've always wondered what's beyond Splash Mountain...🤔😁
haha!!! Affordable parking at the moment.
@@HeyBrickey It used to be where ODV brought our Westside carts in and out! I always loved the little house up on the hillside in that back corner.
I first read that as a "massage area", Disney could make some nice bank offering basic massage services (foot, neck, or that water jet tube thing) in the parks. Long day in the park, Critter Corner massage is here for you!
Thanks Brickey! I agree Critter Country isn’t going anywhere. More evidence is that the re-themed stores are named after critters from the movie, rather than the human characters. It keeps with the Critter Country theme, compliments the Tiana ride and doesn’t detract from the Winnie the Pooh theming just across the walkway.
Excellent point!
I hope the eventual connecting path is something like a walk through the Hundred Acre Woods.
Exactly!
That nighttime CC footage is beautiful! 😍
Thanks!!!
So far all the updates have been great! Looking forward to seeing it all come together in Critter country. Thanks Brickey!
Thanks Bud!
Another fun look into Disney’s current and future state. Wow Hungry Bear is a National Landmark! If they build an Arendale castle I hope they put a restaurant inside. WDW has two, you can eat inside the ballroom of Beast’s castle and inside Cinderella’s castle. Disneyland deserves a similar experience. Critter Country would make a great transition into Frozen land. Especially if you go from Critter Country into the Trolls Woods and then open up into Arendale. Keep up the good work ! Cool Jacket !
Critter country Lane ends practically where magic way ends, with very little in between other than small storage area, hmm 🤔 I could really see this working! 🥰
I’d love for Frozen to go into Fantasyland proper between the Matterhorn and Small World/Toon Town. Using the old motorboat canal and cutting into Autopia footprint for the Arendelle facades, and using the Fantasyland Theatre for the E ticket show building attraction. Great video Brickey!
Not sure how that would work because your Frozen land would be dissected by the parade route and the entrance to Toontown.
Hopefully the new area they want to bring you too might be a Zootopia area. Critter country will just sort of continue into MORE "critter country."
It sounds like you are reading the script I'm writing!!! Stay tuned.
I hope not zootopia as the ride in that does barely anything new and it’s yet another trackless ride. Very unexciting as we already know exactly what the ride is like.
Yeah I think it might be zootopia too… unfortunately. The hotel would blend in with the city… 😢 the theming as far as critters going into zootopia makes sense .. but it doesn’t deserve to be in Disneyland to me… I’d much rather have that area lead into never land or something. They need to put frozen over next to Matterhorn … take out the submarines and autopia.. idk if that would fit correctly…but I think it themes better as an expansion or sorts to fantasy land.
@@HeyBrickeyI hope they start on that avengers e ticket soon! I was excited since fences went up but apparently it was only to remove a wasps nest. I just hope they don’t cancel it again since it seems like Disney is working on everything but the avengers ride
Why do you wear sunglasses at night?
You're appreciated too!!!
👍👍
Love this! It makes so much sense and you’ve got me picturing this possible or probable expansion and getting excited!
We have some exciting times ahead!!!
I always felt the back corner where country bear jamboree was located was a neat little corner of the park. It always felt as deep as you could go into the park. 🙂
i’m so happy to hear you think critter country is going to stay! critter country is my favorite land!
The fact half of the west side is shut down right now also in its own way is prep for when Tomorrowland eventually gets redone
Absolute banger of an update as always, brotha. You take so many fleeting thoughts and ideas I too have about the parks and convey them so naturally that I am always left amazed and intrigued by the content and format of your work. Side note: seeing these areas of the park so empty makes me wish it was early 2000’s, back when it wasn’t just a ride closure or a certain time of day that you could experience it like that. Cheers!
I hope they will still sell tiger tales somewhere
Exciting. Great episode.
What does everyone think about Big Al appearing in DCA?
Some exciting times coming. Disneylands transformation over the coming years is going to be great. Having informational videos like this that pull together all these little projects to visualize the overall plan is awesome. Thanks for your hard work!
It was so great meeting you this night!! It was like a live personal Hey Brickey vid! Hahaha Anyways thanks for being so kind and also saying hi to my livestream viewers ☺️
Maybe they could have an alternate exit/entrance incorporated into the frozen expansion as well as it is so close to M&F. Would ease Main Street traffic and keep the new area from being a dead end.
It is fairly close but it would disrupt backstage traffic that is necessary for the park to operate.
@@mapamouse I should have said the Pixar Pals structure to be more precise. In fact, there is already a pedestrian bridge and walkway connected to that plot of land on the SE corner of that structure.
@@pinbot76 that walkway and bridge are outside the park and doesn’t interfere with the backstage traffic.
Very good points in your video. Kids would love going through Critter Country to Frozen Land. It will be interesting to see if we get a tunnel or a clever bridge that hides that you are crossing a busy street. Your comments in this video really shows the perfect transitions between lands that Disneyland has. I am glad that Disneyland is my home park. The only sub-par of Disneyland is Tomorrowland, but that could change with Disneyland Forward. Maybe we will get people movers and the Skyliner like you stated in one of your other videos. I have been watching the transition of Disneyland since the early 1970's. It is so much fun to watch.
The transformation is the best part of following the parks.
Your channel is the best random TH-cam recommended channel I’ve found in a long time. The algorithm *not* messing up for once.
Frozen would be amazing there
I'm ready for more Disneyland
Wow. I really hope you're right about this. It's definitely a nice vision of the future. 😁
Preach brother preach! I’m pickin’ it up 👊🏼
Dude you are awesome; I could listen to you explain how you see the changes coming together and the future of the park. That area is just so relaxing at night. Thank you
I really hope it's here to stay
Where did you get that cool hoodie?
Bro! In The Link Bellow 😂
@@HeyBrickeydoh! I jumped the gun😂
@@Mr.SlashX🤭
Bro your love of Disneyland shows in every video, I hope you are right, I would rather see them ads to Disneyland then remove and change the rides I grow up witb
We appreciate you Brickey! Beautiful video of the dreams and possibilities Disneyland has always been built around ❤
No more clone attractions/lands! Give us something that hasn’t been done yet!
Please!
And that avengers e ticket that they have been promising us for 4+ years
Been following since before you considered throwing in the towel, been a fan since I found you. I love your content and these amazing videos where you take us on these grand adventures through the what could be. Super happy you stuck with creating videos. Peace ✌🏻
Makes sense Brickey, I was wondering why the pathway to Star Wars land didn’t go through Critter country.
I could barely contain my joy and excitement concerning future expansion! Only here on Hey Brickey!
I agree with all of your points except one.
I do understand that Critter Country is staying and this is mostly due to budget.
However, l feel that Pooh could easily be moved to an area behind Storybookland and build a new indoor Fantasyland Theater just outside of Toontown.
The current area of Pooh could be a Muppet attraction with Kermit being in the swamps making the Critter Country area a
Bayou to New Orleans Square. The Hungry Bear Restaurant could be turned into a seafood type facility focused on southern cooking. (without destroying the current building, but adding props).
The stores at the end could be 1930 rural south inspired and still be a lead in to the expansion area.
Your idea of having a Critter fantasy realm lead into the new fantasy area with the Fantasy tower is extremely strong.
As for DCAs expansion, l feel that the Ice Age characters will be used to tie into La Brea Tar Pits keeping the California theme going.
But I'm sure going to miss Splash Mountain
I'm so excited for the future😊
Thanks for having an “adult” approach to covering Disneyland. There are now several people who acted on something I started in the 1980s being a model of Disneyland. I am located on a 1/4 acre lot on the end of a cul-de-sac in CA. Mine is a G-scale garden railroad but unlike Mr.Shegog’s my attractions are located in the proper locations. I wish I had the supreme modeling skills he has but I build placeholders and now coming back and upgrading them, now that I am retired. Your site I a great reference vehicle for me and each time I watch one of your posts I get motivated to finish a model. I now am about 80% complete. Due to my wife’s health issues and COVID-19, I was slowed down but kept me from going out and catching anything.
Amazing!!! Keep going and keep pushing.
Exciting -
Can’t wait!
Will the next video be speculation for the East side?
Will Tomorrowland grow toward the Esplanade?
The area behind Main Street has seen many different Blue Sky ideas:
Toontown
Hollywood Land
Edison Square
Liberty Street
Will Tokyo be the blueprint for Disneylands Tomorrowland?
Wreck it Ralph replacing Buzz
New Space Mountain built behind current one.
Will parade vehicles get a new staging area after moving backstage buildings?
The Carousel building... stay or go?
Will Fantasyland reclaim the motorboat cruise space?
Personally, i would love for the Matterhorn to recieve an outdoor queue like Pirates has.
Also another good one would be about what’s going on with that avengers e ticket, like are they actually going to start construction on it soon or is the quinjet building going to be empty for 5 more years
Great show! Thanks for all the good info and filming of the park. I kept looking for conservative 🐢 turtle. 😃🤙😎
Haha!!! Make Frontierland Great Again Turtle moved to Utah 😂
@@HeyBrickey😂
Dude your videos are so cool! I love learning and I love Disney so these are such great videos to watch! Thanks for your work!
The best!!!
Hey Brickey! Keep the ideas coming! I love this stuff!
Great video! I love the insight you have of Disneyland. I have really enjoyed your content lately Brickey.
Love your videos Putting all the pieces out there and seeing where they fit. Fun to speculate. Keep them coming
Awesome video Brickey! I really enjoy your perspective.
Disney MUST create more transportation. There are more and more LONG walks required around the resort. Otherwise they're going to start having as many ECVs as strollers.
I wish they would add back country bear jamboree
Me Three!
The transitions from GE East in Hollywood Studios...eek. 😬
GROSS!!!
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. For decades, all anyone has wanted is for Disney to work on Tomorrowland. Fix the People Mover. Do something with the Carousel of Progress Building. Do something with the Tomorrowland Theater. Maybe replace Autopia and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage with Tron or another E ticket attraction. What does Disney do? Make changes to the corner of the park that was perfect and everyone loved.
Hmmm... tbh... For whatever they decide to build to expand upon beyond Critter Country for the Disneyland Forward project, they've got thematic options:
Zootopia: Bunny Borrow (referring back to Rabbit from the Hundred Acre Wood and loosely Brer Rabbit if they so choose, plus an orange tree farm reference!)
Tangled: Corona (not the beverage but the kingdom has a lot of forested areas)
Frozen: Beyond Arendelle (because hotel views and a popular IP)
Frozen will be nice but I want Rapunzel Land ❤
Hey Brickey! Do you think they would ever consider adding back Country Bear Jamboree into Critter Country in some capacity. My idea was to combine the Hungry Bear and CBJ into a dinner-theater show. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.
Also, you should do a map breakdown for Disneyland Forward to see what kinds of experiences that they might put in the different areas.
👍🤞✨
it feels like Tiana's Bayou Adventure was designed to be a transition from NOS to CC. I hope people who miss Splash Mountain will appreciate that attention to detail.
Thanks for that explanation and honestly the critters of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is actually a great sign that critter country is not going away. However, I don’t think Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is going to be the popular draw that Disney is hoping for. Don’t get me wrong I do love Princess and the Frog and I do want that movie to get its own ride, but to me it just seems like retheming that’s from the mind and not from the heart. After it opens I will probably say people will be in that area for 2 months and then it will be a walk on because the look isn’t really that good. Of course, I won’t actually know until I watch the ride in action but so far for the look of the ride it’s unappealing. If they actually want people to give it a chance it needs to draw the people in to actually get people to be attracted to it, from what I see at the magic kingdom’s Splash Mountain retheme which is a similar retheme to Disneylands, I think maybe they bit more than they can chew. Sure the critters are a good sign but the critters aren’t really that important. Whenever a ride is named after a character it’s more about the characters story not about the side characters that seen only a few times. Snow White, Pinocchio, Alice, Peter Pan, the Little Mermaid, Buzz Lightyear, Indiana Jones, Mr. Toad, Whinnie the Pooh, Rodger Rabbit, Finding Nemo, Mickey and Minnie, Guardian of the Galaxy, Toy Story, and Spiderman all pretty much tells a story that actually relates the rider to know and accept the character is all about. I mean it is an interesting concept but does it actually highlight the character integrity of who they are so fans can accept them? For now I’m skeptical because it’s just a bland story from what I heard it’s going to be like; however, Tiana is actually an interesting hard working person who does the best to actually give the right taste to life. There’s the disconnect because Tiana isn’t so bland because there wouldn’t be a story if she was bland. Whatever her ride is needs to be exciting, interesting, and actually come from the heart. Sure, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure pays love to the critters but whenever a name is mentioned it’s the characters that are the main focused. So, whenever it opens and the characters aren’t justified, I will call Disney out on that no matter what or when. Anyways, great video.
Tunnel? Bridge? Nah.....no way bro it ain't going down like this.
I want a ride that takes me to what's next.
From what's been said, It seems there will be a walking path and also some form of Transportation. We shall see!
@@michaelsullivan3581 nope. Just a ride. Lol. I'm picky. Lol.
I think there is a possibility that the gate to the northwest parking lot expansion will be at (or near) the Monorail stop. And that when you get off the Monorail stop in Downtown Disney, you would have the option to leave the park or continue into the new expansion (also allowing access from the expansion to the monorail). If Tomorrowland gets touched during Disneyland Forward operations, then the Monorail will have to close, the perfect opportunity to modify the station to accommodate the Northwest expansion!
🎶🎶I wear my sunglasses at night🎶🎶
I have prosthetic lens in both of my eyes and they reflect the camera monitor in an abnormal way. I’d prefer to not to deal with that, so yes I wear sunglasses at night when I film.
I am so glad someone said it, whether for his personal reasons, it's so him though!!
@@HeyBrickeyI figured there must be a reason. Cool song though. 👍
I wonder if they would create something new? A Tangled land? I know they have the ride that looks AMAZING, but there are also lots of Little Critters in Tangled. And it has that woodsy vibe that could be a good transition from Critter County to Disneyland forward phase…but I would much rather have Frozen!
I'm curious to see what the easter egg from splash mountain that gets hidden in Tiana's bayou is gonna be.
Great ideas and takes. Wondering…do they have the space to put Tokyo’s version of Pooh in Critter Country?
I agree that Critter Country isn't going anywhere. My guess is that the reason that all the signs so prominently say "Employee Owned" is because the employees are critters. The bayou critters own and operate Tiana Foods.
And I think that the gates at the back of Critter Country will be either the entrance to the Enchanted Forrest from Frozen 2 leading to Erendal or a bridge to Pandora. I would prefer Frozen, but if it's Pandora then the northwest corner will be entirely other planets(Pandora and Batuu). In other words, the outside of "The Berm" is outer space. That seems like something Disney would do.
I could be wrong but unless you count Bear County changing to Critter County I don’t think Disneyland has ever gotten rid of a land.
I think you’re right off the top of my head.
Unless you count Indian Village as a land and not part of ROA? Good trivia.
For a deep cut, you could say Holidayland from 57-61. Even though it was a picnic area, it had it's own entrance gate to DL & was featured on postcards of the day.
Will Grizzly Rapids be the next IP retheme to Country Bears?
I do love Critter Country! It is unique to Disneyland (minus Tokyo). It needs to survive! lol
Hear me out here... We need an ewok village as the transition from critter country 😂
Hey Brickey!
My question is now that poo corner is closed but hungry bear diner is open. Are we still going to be able to walk that way to rise of the resistance? Or is it going to be a dead end during construction and then we have to walk all the way back around to frontier land, and go into galaxies edge the other side?we will be there on the seventh. I guess I’ll find out for myself lol
No, the path along the river walking by critter country is still available to get to Galaxy’s Edge
Yup!
That Tiana animatronic looks nothing like Tiana from the movie!
I know it's all three-dimensional and not flat at all.
@@HeyBrickey 🤣
@@HeyBrickey nothing to do with flat smart ass! I say that in a loving way of course. She looks nothing like the movie character. Just seems odd. And princess and the frog is well cherished in our household! We love that movie. Facilier is one of the greatest villains ever created, and it’s shocking that he is not included in this ride! Iam positive I will love this ride. The issue is it will forever be the attraction that replaced splash. And Facilier needs to be added! We the fans of the movie demand it!
@@thebluetarp I agree that we do still need the younger Princess Tiana and Dr. Faciliier roaming about the Park, as they have for years. They are in the top of my list of favorite face characters to run across in the Park!
On the other hand, Tiana's Bayou and Restaurant are a new chapter in her story, later in life. She's older and Dr.F is long gone. He go byebye! So it's critters galore! I hope they can enhance rather than restrict the story of The Princess and the Frog!
critter country will reopened next month or in July
Ugh, SPOILER!!!
True Lauri-jean!
Why don't we don't get the updates first in Disneyland, instead of at Toyko Disney? It feels like the OG park is the last on the list of updates and growth. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong? Or am I missing something?
Great question! I'm guessing you're referring to creating a land like Frozen? He actually talks about the genius reason why they're having it designed & built first overseas in this video...
th-cam.com/video/ZbXiofvGwpU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JQQpSGlDrZQCUCHQ
Tbh I see the new Avatar land being put in the new expansion pad. I see the transition from Earth to another planet being more of a fluid theme vs. Frozen. That just seems lazy. As someone mentioned in the comments, Frozen should take over the area where the theatre is.
Do you know what i want Hey Brickey!? I want Critter Country at Disneyland to stay as it is and not change, when the area was closed temporarily it has to stay as it is please 🙏 for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and I want The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh to stay in Critter Country and not remove or retheme please 🙏 ok 👍
But Bambi themed, will be in Critter Country.
Well if the hungry bear is a national landmark now can they make the food worth its status? Because lol
6:00 Every year I feel bad for Magic Kingdom.
7:23 Every year I dislike Hollywood Studios.
It could be peter pan or zootopia it would go along with critter country
Any guess on how long Winnie the Pooh will be closed? Do you think it will be closed until Tiana's opens?
I think I heard about a month and a half
@@HeyBrickey thanks! I hope you’re right!
The Winnie the Pooh ride has really never been popular, the wait has always averaged 5-10 min. I remember being there on its first day in 2003 and there was absolutely no one in line.
#bringbacksplashmtn
I seriously see frozen as a complement to small world/whatever tomorrowland is going to become.
I really love Winnie the Pooh. I’m disappointed any part of that theming is changing. I would have rather they expanded on it.
Indeed! 100 Acre Wood is easily one of the best places in Disneyland. Pooh Sticks Creek is literally fantasy made real! It immerses one in the timeless tale. They need to add, not subtract!
What next Disney banned Disney adults from its theme parks.

Who is Tiana? That's a ridiculous name for Splash Mountain.
I'll be totally honest, Tiana's Bayou Adventure has driven me away from Disneyland. Seriously. The movie, The Princess and the Frog bored me to tears. I have tried to watch it on many different times and every time I fell asleep and never got thru it due to shear boredom. Terrible story. they should never have gotten rid of Splash Mountain. I'll never go back to DL.
That being said I enjoy your vids and I enjoy your insight. Keep up the great work.
One of my armchair attractions would be a Sonic the Hedgehog coaster, That'll make my favorite land perfect.
Of course, Splash mountain remaining would also be perfect but ya know.
(edit) Also the Country Bears, but They'd be fine at DCA.
Please NO Zootopia. Or Frozen. Yawn.
why not? those 2 movies were actually decent unlike some of the other newer ones
@@blackbear52able Nothing wrong with them. Just hoping for something(s) new!
I'm sorry, but Tiana's Bayou Adventure looks so ugly. Long Live the Briar Patch!
